"You see there are 2 ways of looking at it. 1 your point. Maybe it reduces the attraction 2. The club is that good that people regulars or not do rally around to defend it. Either way who cares. Go or don't go. It's not worth getting excited about. " Who's excited? I am sure the question is valid and now validated

"Not again!!!! Rather than read the reviews on here and getting all hot and bothered about it, I'd rather visit the clubs personally and get all hot bothered in another, more enjoyable manner!! The review section on here is far too flawed and open to abuse to be taken seriously. I find word of mouth/personal recommendation is a far more reliable tool! " You do have a point about abusive and untrue reviews. However the point remains that regulars of some clubs get uber defensive over something that they can actually help to rectify. How nice would it be to see a post say hey sorry you had bad time but PM us and we will happily show you around? Some people don't have the time to simply try a club on the off chance that it will be a good time. So unfortunately have to rely on reviews.

"If the avoid review was well reasoned and thoughtful and was hounded on by regulars it would put me off. Where there are legitimate concerns or reasons somebody didn't enjoy the club then they are valid. If the avoid review was blatantly someone with a grudge or someone complaining simply because they hadn't had a shag and the regulars had something to say about that, then I'd be less inclined to take notice." I think if anyone complains that they didn't get action that renders their viewpoint in a review invalid anyway. It's more a reflection on them than the club.

Yes " Yes as shows that the said club has a click and will be looked down upon for entering as no one from within the click will speak let alone approach you in any way seen it so many times most folk that go to clubs go with prearranged meets there and not open to others the whole point of going to mix surely

"Interesting that those with a vested interest in running or promoting a club have a differing opinion. Is repeat core business more important than new people? " No definitely not, but we find that most new people have heard about us from chat, from their visits to other clubs where people have been chatting to one another etc... I would say as a guestimate, 20% of people who choose to come to us have read club reviews, which in turn have made them want to come along. The rest of the 80% have been recommended by other people by word of mouth. If you are wondering how I can possibly know, we have a few marketing questions on our membership forms, which as specific questions such as, how did you hear about Townhouse etc...and the most common answer is word of mouth, not reading club reviews on Fab. To be honest, we may have differing opinions because we live and breathe the scene 24/7 and come across hundreds of people a week, thus gathering info from them through conversation and learning from our customers. We promote on sites such as this all the time and can honestly say that these sites are not central to getting people to choose our club, they are a tool for helping people on their journey. Our bat phone is red hot all the time. Most people who want to know more about our club will look on our website and then call us. Any questions or concerns are cleared up then...if they want some advice on swinging sites to browse, then we may suggest this site, but we also recommend others and we point them towards the forums to chat with other swingers rather than the review systems as they are just opinions and from reading a lot of them on here can be very biased. I think I have rambled but it's been a long weekend!!!! haha ZZzzz

"After a succesful thread started by Fabio about attacking people who visit a club and leave an honest review it starts again in the review section. Our question would be to people who were looking to go to a new club or for the first time would seeing a group of people rally round and attack the honest reviewer put people off a club? Surely it makes far more sense to leave it well alone as attacking it only creates negativity around the club and highlights the issue further along with damaging a clubs reputation as a welcoming fun place? " What is the rule on people who are intimately associated with a Cub sending you what would purport to be spam invitations in any other medium?

No definitely not, but we find that most new people have heard about us from chat, from their visits to other clubs where people have been chatting to one another etc..." Funnily enough its rare that I am put off by reviewers being dogpiled on the review page on here. Its when they post their vendettas on the forum for all to see. Its very dull and just makes me think 'Well, not going there. I might meet these people!' The Townhouse has got excellent reviews, but it also has very little competition nearby, so won't suffer like clubs in other areas from badmouthing. Having said that, all the Manchester area clubs manage to get along with each other. PS Put me down as another one who needs to get to the Townhouse in 20125.

Unfortunately as a club you cannot control what people write. I tend to report them if they are on our clubs review section but it's really up to admin if they feel it's feasible to remove them. It's not really about the amount of reviews it's the content that matters.

"it depends on the content of the reviews if there were numerous ones from a range of visitors about facilities and cleanliness that would put us off . If it were complaints about a particular night or event it wouldnt as this is subjective and what one person enjoys another will hate as we have found when visiting a club. What does put us off is the lack of reviews if a clubs been going for a considerable time and only has a handfull of reviews that in itself would put us off a good club usually has loads reviews " Other people have said similar to be honest, but as I have also said before, there are some clubs out there who give incentive to people who leave reviews. So some clubs who haven't been going as long have hundreds of reviews and others that have been going for longer don't have as many. I would say it is the quality of the reviews, not the number of the reviews that is important.

If i visited a club and hated it i would give an honest account as id like others to know of my experience but again it would only be my account but if a club were bad i certainly wouldnt give them a good review through an incentive my biggest incentive would be never to return

"An easy way to stop all of this would be for fab to deploy a rating system, ie stars out of 5 for Facilities Cleanliness Staff Cost Location Parking Those are just a few examples of what we think a club should be judged on, at least it would stop all the bitchy comments ?? " 100% agree! It's been suggested before but don't think Fab will go for it

" It would that's for sure. Do like the additional comments on a club though some people do quite good reviews which add a nice personal touch. I don't think people should comment on the clientele as seen some quite cruel descriptive comments lately. A club should be judge on what it has to offer not what the attendees look like.

"You can always tell when a club has had a critical review because they have a disproportionate number of new reviews in comparison to the others...It always makes me smile, just a little bit... reviews are only one of the tools we use to decide whether to try club or not...For others it's their entry requirements, price, facilities and distance..." it's pretty transparent

I get the point about regulars posting frequent good reviews this is out of the clubs control of course We are all old enough to see through the review sections issues and as adults make our own choices
