Hi everyone

My first thread on here so please be gentle.

I've just moved back to the south. In the past when I've lived this way I was either married or in a relationship. This time I'm single & I'm wanting to explore the lifestyle as a single man & make friends with similar interests.

The past few days I have a seen BGHS mentioned a fair bit. The website looks good but is it all its made out to be? What are the best nights to go? What kind of people normally go?

Any advice or thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

Been there twice, but not for a while. It's more of a spa with play areas, than a club like Eurekas or Kestrels. No physical activity allowed in any of the tubs or pool and even when we were shown around the play rooms weren't pointed out. Try it & see.

We had a very bad experience with the Owner and so our opinion may be clouded. Suffice to say that the way the "rules" are written and how they come across appear to be a reflection of the personality of the owner. Our experience is that if she finds fault with something it would be better to just meekly accept her point of view rather than suggest any kind of compromise. We were very rudely thrown out after five minutes and were comforted outside by a couple who heard it all and told us that her outbursts were becoming increasingly common.

Our misdemeanor by the way was to bring the wrong kind of flip flops.

I think that maybe this place is all you have in Brighton and that is why it is popular. Someone needs to open somewhere decent there, it is crying out for it.

I've gone for years as both a single and part of a couple - never had any problems with the staff or owner or indeed any other customers! Its a great place. Check the club reviews on here for more of an idea.

Try Kestrels /abfabs. From what I have read about BG it is quite restrictive.

I have been to Ab Fab before I think... it was a Fever party being held there. But it didnt seem anything quite like BGHS from what I remember?

Because they were not completely flat, they had a one inch wedge. She said that she had deemed them to be fashion shoes (actually £4.99 flip flops from Tesco) and because we had dared question her observation we were told to leave immediately.

We've been going for a couple of years and love it.

Firstly and most importantly, it's a naturist spa not a swingers club. Rules are very clear, no play, sitting on each other, sexual contact is permitted anywhere other than the rest rooms.

This makes the rest of the club relaxed and stress free. Mon-fri it's open to all at weekend after 6pm only for couples.

Staff and owners are lovely. Without getting into an argument with anyone the only time I've ever seen any problems it's been down to the customers. People have been asked to leave occasionally while we've been there but it's always been their fault when we've seen it.

Go and have a look, it's much cheaper than abfabs so not much to find out if it's for you.

Totally agree, I have been going to BGHS since it opened eons ago. Lovely clean and well run establishment, it is not a swingers club, but has an open minded view on 'playing'. Follow the rules, which in my mind are very reasonable and enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I guess no one place will ever have everyone agreeing.

I like the look of the place and not really too bothered about whether it is a swingers club. My main reason to go is meet new people in this area and enjoy being naked. If it results in more then thats just a bonus.

Got a couple of days leave to take before xmas so will probably try it on a Friday.

I must say that I really like the spa and as long as you follow the rules it a great place to chill and use the facilities.

I will not go into details but likewise I got thrown out too but it was my fault for ignoring the rules lol.

However the rules are there to benefit all the customers so are correct to strictly enforce!

Horrible place. Just read numerous bad Trip advisor reviews. Regulars will write all day long how good it is because they don't want it to close they will have no place to go to get there kink. In fact the owner have asked regulars to write positive reviews to negate the bad ones! Not a swingers club. Misleading and dishonest to advertise on swingers site.

She terrified me, as new I didn't realise I couldn't wear a beach cover, my bad but she was so rude, we also heard her talking to her staff, I'm surprised anyone works there.

The spa itself was lovely, but we were to scared to venture up to the playrooms incase that was wrong

Been there a few times now, and my experience has been totally different to everyone else's it seems.

The place is a naturist spa and not a swingers club, tho if you want to play there are room upstairs for it.

I've been to a lot of clubs (and been here for a long time!) and for me it's one of the nicest places to go and chill that I've found, added bonus you can play, and even bigger bonus single people (men or women!) are turfed out at 530 on a Saturday and it becomes even more chilled without the wanking dead following everywhere.

I stand by my post which was this:

"As others have said BGHS have rules and there should be no problems if they are adhered to.

However, as had been mentioned, the high number of poor reviews on Trip Advisor, that many people simply can't be wrong!

I've been a naturist for 30 years, am a member of a naturist club and several naturist forums. BGHS is well known within the naturist community and 'incidents' similar to those mentioned in this post have been reported across these forums over many years....."

It's invariably the people who can't follow the rules and who land themselves in trouble that then feel the need to resurrect every single thread about BGHS and tell the world how horrid it is. This thread was over a year old....

We’ve always enjoyed our visits.

Met some nice people, had some nice chats.

It’s very clean and really quite a nice place to spend time especially on a cold winters day.

Yes there are rules and yes they are enforced.

The only time we saw any tension was when a group of traveller lads were trying their luck and got themselves ejected.

I've been visiting BGHS for at least 20 years, as a single guy and a couple. Never had a problem as always respected the rules. Owner is lovely and gave us a great heads up on a trip to Valencia. Place is always immaculately clean. Really don't get the negative reviews, but if it's not for you then no problem move on and try other venues. Stick to the rules, respect the other patrons and you will have a lovely time! X

I witnessed similar incident owner talking to member of staff. Poor girl had tears in her eyes. Few of us felt very uncomfortable and left at the same time. Absolute horror show! Unfortunately most of them are foreigners and speak very little to No English, let alone if aware of employment laws and their rights. I find it weird that some swingers will go to lengths to defend such behaviour

There are 100’s of naturists clubs across the country but none of them advertise on swingers sites. Since this venue is in residential area and Brighton & Hove city council takes their licensing conditions very seriously. I hope they take notice of this.

Oh wow you're pissed at the spa aren't you.

They have had some staff from abroad but never once have i seen a member of staff who couldn't speak English.

You don't like the place, we all get it. Now chill and let the rest of us enjoy it. Ok it doesn't match what you describe as a "swingers site" why do you care?

The "huge numbers of TripAdvisor reviews" that mostly are from people who have only ever done one revenge review after being kicked out.

Anyway, have fun at whatever establishment you frequent.

If admin thought we didn't want BGHS listed in the clubs section of Fabswingers where we are free to leave reviews they would remove it. However low you stoop to find mud to throw at BGHS and not only in this particular forum thread it clearly isn't sticking. There are many of us who will defend this unique spa based on our own experience when we have paid a visit. Maybe you should travel further west along the coast to Temptations in Bournemouth, it's a proper swingers club and also in a residential area. It seems like most local authorities will tolerate naturist and swingers clubs to operate within their boundaries provided they are well run.

South coast

We've been a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff have all been lovely. We also visit Temptations in Bournemouth and again never had any issues despite some of the reviews. Seems to me most bad reviews of places come from people who cannot follow simple rules and get asked to leave

First time at BGHS so I am just trying to ignore the negative comments and see how it compares with the friendly atmosphere I have experienced in East Anglia.

Absolutely disgusting this place. I went back in September. My wallet and credit cards got st*len. When I enquired. Manager got aggressive and violent. I would advise to stay clear from this place . Like others said it’s not swingers club, more like a brothel. AVOID

Couldn't agree more. Have been recently able to make it again and can't find fault as some have. Hopefully they'd be willing to try again!

It's a spa with the ability to enjoy yourselves further if you wish.. which i think is brilliant! If you just want to chill and spa then you can... if your adventurous then wow what amazing fun can be had 😉. I've also been as a single and couple! 😉
