Brighton - even Hove!

I had heard it said that they had hiked their prices up hugely so this may have had an impact on the number of people attending and so has had a knockon effect on their profit margins.

There have been rumours of this for wel over 12 months. Isn't the land subject to a compulsory purchase order?

As you say rumours for a while and petitions etc to try and save it have also been going for a while.

I wonder if it's the sane 'old' rumours that the OP is referring to or whether it's anything new and more current?

I still haven't been there (well to the daytime Kestrels Spa) and it's a definite 'must do' in the not too distant future

AbFabs did not have the proper planning consents for all the structures on its land or their current uses. It applied for retrospective planning permission to correct this but was refused some of them.

The management appealed this decision and this process is currently ongoing.

Just this week more work and equipment have gone in to the venue, not the actions of a management expecting imminent closure. They even seem confident enough of their future to be taking bookings for NYE

Yesterday was one of the busiest Mondays since the summer holidays and if anything the venue is becoming increasingly popular. Especially with single men.

I've seen articles from over a year ago saying it was being ordered to close - surprised the appeal hasn't been dealt with yet. I've not been yet either but plan to soon - I have been put off by the high prices admittedly, and no doubt others have as well but from all the reviews on here it sounds like a case of 'you get what you pay for' and if you want to just spend 20 quid for something pretty rubbish (at least it was in my experience) you can go to Eurekas.

It does cost a lot to get into AbFabs as a single male, but for me there wouldn't be much saving by going elsewhere. For instance, I'd save £30 on entry by going to VA instead, but I'd spend an extra £20 on petrol getting there, so I'm only saving a tenner and I'm spending another hour and a half on the road to do so. I'll most likely check out VA at some point, but it won't be the cost of entry at AbFabs that makes me do it.
