Does the cost of membership prevent you going to a new club or your 1st club.

Didn't realise clubs charged a membership.

We've only been to adventures and the membership is free. You pay entry fees.

Yes definitely , I personally think some of the clubs are ridiculously over priced , so it makes a night out expensive .

I've always felt clubs would benefit from a 'try before you buy' scheme, as well as a one off visit pricing structure for those that travel, are unlikely to be regular visitors and therefore would not make a once/twice a year trip as the membership fee wouldn't be justified.

That said - many clubs either charge no fee or minimal (£10-20 per year) or hold events where you can visit without joining (the Chams BBW or Xtasia FFFF for example).

If you're local and a regular club goer then you're less likely to be bothered.

If you only get the chance to go three or four times a year then I guess clubs with no fees may reap the benefits.

We just look for special events at the places we want to try such as socials then try them before we sign up...

Yes it does. If we're in a different part of the country and fancy trying out a club, we'd be put off by an annual membership fee on top of the entry fee as we'd be unlikely to use the club again and it would make it a very expensive night out. I agree with the 'try before you buy' idea - one night with just the entry fee before you commit.

No we just ensure we budget accordingly before our first visit.

To be honest I think most places are quite cheap for membership anyway - chams is only £15 a couple I believe

Libs have a half price special for £25 at the moment too

I'm happy to Pay membership for up to around £30 for clubs

Depends on the club most clubs have a members entrance fee and a slightly more expensive non members fee some of the bigger clubs chams, la chambre have a nominal membership fee so it's no big deal anyway. A lot of clubs you have to be members as they operate as private members clubs so there is always the option not to go

Membership fees are not an issue for us we see up to £30 as being acceptable, however one of our favourite clubs we recently went to charged £33 on the door for a couple so that has put us off going again.

I don't live in the UK and clubs where I am charge €40-70 per night depending on if there are guys there or just couples etc. I guess you have to weigh it up before you go.

I guess it can be off putting for many different reasons.

We went to a club paid membership on the wY in plus entrance fee and had to wipe our feet on the way out it was awful.

I understand that the way to get round the licensing rules is to have it as a private members club, but other clubs like Jaydees manage to not charge an annual fee so why can't others

We offer free entry upon membership because we understand it can be an expensive night. As for visitors from further afield we waiver the membership fee but if they return within 3 months then they have to pay it.

And membership costs can out the sex tourists who think coming to clubs guarantees an easy shag. We had one member who messaged us the day after a visit and said he had been ripped off because he felt aggrieved he had paid £30 to stand at the bar and drink water lol sorry but that isn't the kind of person I want frequenting my club anyway!

it prevents me from going to more clubs.... because paying for a years membership plus entrance if you are only going to be in the area lets say once a year isn't worth the expense.......

Agree with Fabio, but also at one local club we have taken loads of new people who would otherwise not have gone to that club.

These people may have been from a long distance away and it's embarrassing when the club asked them for membership as we know they may not return. What clubs should do is have a "if your brought along by existing members then you don't have to join on the first night" rule.

But also we got annoyed that having introduced many people to the club, and hence added to their profits the club still asked us for renewal of membership fees !! You might have thought that the club would have a scheme to waive membership fees for people that introduce others. So we don't go back to that club now.

Adam and eves has a non members day on a Tuesday were everyone gets in at reduced rates

at first it did attract some people i wasn't keen on but after a few weeks that element seem to trail off

i personally think more clubs should do this sort of thing gives everyone a chance to try the club and also the clubs busy on day it would normally be quiet

Yes it does

When we first started 6 yrs ago I wanted to try abfabs,it was something like £50 membership plus entrance fee,its over 2 hrs away and we'd need a hotel room too,far too much money to lay out for maybe just the one night in a club we may never have gone back to

Libery elite was another one that was similar, ive not checked these clubs out for ages now so don't know if the same still applies

It is, in our view, always best for clubs to have a flexible membership policy - Regulars should always benefit from the best pricing bracket, as they're the backbone of the clubs income, but in the same token, some people do like to travel for new clubs occasionally, as we often have done, and travelling means accommodation costs, fuel or train tickets and probably food etc, so you can often factor in between £100 to £200 depending on how far your going before you've even got in the club doors. That means if you have to pay membership on top of that for what might be a yearly visit, it gets very expensive - as others said, I try before you buy or one off visiting fee, works. By the same token many clubs insist on 'membership' of some sort, free or otherwise for entrants for the safety of their members, this we agree is a good idea. If there was a punch up in a club like RIOS, you would be unlikely to trace the assailant or stop them from visiting again.

We have been put off visiting clubs due to the costs.

Where we live on south coast it's a 50 mile drive to the nearest club, so if you factor in,travel, food, drink entry fee and possibly accommodation ontop of that makes it a very expensive night out. One which we cannot justify.

That said our last visit was not too bad but it did mean driving home after which was tiring at 3am

I realise that the business model means that getting into a club is less expensive for a couple than it is for a single man, but as a couple we think that if the cost isn't too high we will go more often. I was therefore surprised when looking at the cost of getting in Infusions on a Saturday night ( which is also much further to travel for us) they want £30 for entry and also £5 for membership. Not perhaps a huge disincentive but a consideration when we have good clubs much closer.

From the clubs that we have been to in the northwest the membership fees haven't been an issue......

However we find the cost of clubs getting a little pricey for a night out ...... we go to the club mentioned above on a couples night for £30 but never know of its going to be a busy night or not

We tend to go less often than we used to due to the cost these days....which is a shame but if we are getting priced out of visiting clubs then so be it......(and before the nightclub comparisons get used....we don't do night clubs)

We are suprised that the single guys haven't had much input in this topic as they do tend to get charged quite a bit

Love going to Abfabs but by the time you have paid the £50. entrance fee plus as we don't drive we pay £25/£30 taxi each way it becomes something we don't do often

2 weeks ago we were in Scotland at a club whilst on holiday fortunately the club offered to waive the membership because we were on holiday, and won't be regularly travelling 340 miles to go to the club, flexibility from clubs would go a long way encourage new people to attend,

As I only visit any club maybe three times max in a year, yes it does, apart from Chams which was a lifetime membership. I don't want to pay a years membership to somewhere I may not visit again in the same year.

I would have the confidence to visit a club on my own, however, I cannot afford the prices together with paying for accommodation. I have been to 2 clubs in the past with guys but having to pay for membership which means you have to then go as a couple is unfair. I would like to go with different men.

Membership should be mandatory AFTER the first visit. This allows new people to attend and try a club unencumbered by membership costs. As long a "Membership" is for the benefit of the members and not just revenue raising system we would have no issue paying.

I agree with this but I believe that membership is a requirement for the drinks licence for a private members club. Clubs shouldn't use it as an extra revenue stream it's just unfair.

Yes it does.

I regularly to go 3 clubs, Chams which has a life time £15 for couples which we were happy to pay but there is no way I would pay £50 yearly which is the membership fee for 1 of my local clubs.

I like how Tease and JDs make single guys pre-book a place, that way they can keep the numbers down without having to charge exorbitant fees.

The bring your own drinks at JDs is something I like too.

I think you were mugged off paying £60

£30 - £35 doesn't seem too bad,I know some clubs are less than that on certain nights
