As I haven't got a driving licence or passport ?

Ring/email the club you're thinking of trying to join and ask them. Sometimes Utility bills/Bank cards will surfice. It is of course down to the discression of individual clubs.

I'm glad I don't get ID'd at clubs, as the name and photo on my driving license doesn't show my boobies

The ones we've been to that ask for ID just had a quick look, they didn't make a note of the address.

We got couples membership and they didn't copy ours. No idea if it's different for guys. Give them a ring, they are nice.

With the waiting list for single guys to get membership at Chams, you'll have time to get a passport and get half way through the 10 years before you need to worry about it lol.

We are members of at least 6 clubs have never ever received any mail of any of them, I think it's an excellent safe guard that the clubs require id it is the responsible thing to do. As for chams I believe there is a long waiting list for single guys anyway so you will have plenty of time to get a new passport

Clubs require ID because they need to know who is on the premises for the health, safety and wellbeing of it's membership.

The ID required is usually something with your name AND address on it so a driving licence is perfect.

If you don't have this, then most clubs will accept 2 utility bills and they probably won't copy them.

They won't send anything to your address, they may take a note of your details for their records, but if they do this, they are restricted by Privacy and Confidentiality regulations which limit what clubs can do with your info.

If you are a genuine guy, then you should have no problem showing ID. You are certainly not alone as a married guy...your not the first and certainly not the last. Everyone else has no problem with ID. If you want to go to a club, then you need to show the ID that they require and trust them. This whole thing is about trust!!

Most clubs don't have the time or space to hold data. We take details from your ID and hold it on our database and attach it to a membership number.

I do think you are over thinking this.

If you don't trust clubs and the process then don't go. We have over 15000 members and everyone is happy with how we handle their data and have a ball.

If you want to enjoy clubs, then you must follow their rules....providing ID is a fundamental rule.

Is it likely that someone is going to find out you go to a swingers club, then get a hacker or burglar to break in the club or their network to steal your details just to prove you are a member of a swingers club, wouldn't it just be easier to hire a private eye to follow you to a club and take pictures if you entering or leaving a club. Clubs do understand the need to be descrete if they weren't they wouldn't stay in business very long they are never going to send you anything by post

Of course they store your details - just in case you become their Mystery Customer No 100,000, when they send a brass band and troupe of acrobats round to your house to give you your complimentary Gold Card.

Imagine that, FREE membership.

Hmmm, yeah, now it doesn't sound so bad does it? Think of the money you could save. Oh, decisions, decisions...

Anyway, your wife is going to catch you out sooner or later anyway, just be a man about it. (Interestingly, the funniest thing I have ever seen was a group of Asian men CRYING, huddled together in the changing room in a club - one of their wives had found a membership card and phoned the number...then rounded up the rest of the wives who thought their hubby was "playing darts" and was waiting in the car park for them to man-up and come out to face the music. Absolute comedy gold.)

Be sure, your sins will find you out.

I did get mail once, from a club database. The owner sold up and was setting another club up, so just took his membership list and sent a mailshot to everyone, dozy bastard. Yep, there are people out there who are that obtuse...

We've been to over 40 different clubs. I doubt that a quarter of them have asked for id.

I don't know how many we've been to but most of the ones we've been to have and certainly the better run clubs chameleons,va, la chambre, infusions, op4f to name a few off the top of my head

And rightly so, I think it tells you where the discerning, responsible clubs are, and where the ones are that just want to get some cash in the till, regardless of how many nameless idiots and News of the Screws (RIP) reporters there are roaming about inside.

I would rather go to an open, well-run, well-managed club which knows who is coming through the doors.

No-one's interested in me, my data can't be used for any gain or against me in any way, I'm not doing anything illegal, even though some might find it immoral (JUST like my gym membership, thinking about it), and I trust the club to protect my information as best they can.

Nothing is ever 100% secure, just ask Ed Snowden, but there are things I'd be far more concerned about in everyday life if they were revealed to all and sundry than where I go in my leisure time.

Of course, if I was that concerned, I'd simply stay at home, in case I get hit by a meteorite.

So I work for La Chambre, both behind the bar taking memberships and I moderate their forum. This is taken from an faq I wrote:

What ID should I bring?

Driving licenses or a combination of passport and a utility bill or similar to prove your address. We need you to bring something with the address you’re registering with, so if your driving license isn’t updated yet don’t worry, just bring along a bill too

[b] Do I have to give my real name and address?

Yes. La Chambre is a members only club and it is important that we can verify that you are who you say you are by checking your ID documents. We never pass your details onto third parties and we operate a very strict privacy policy. No details are made available to non-essential staff members and the data is stored securely as per the data protection act. [/b]

Will you write to me at home?

When you fill in your application form we will ask you if you want to receive email updates etc. If you don’t, then you will never be sent anything.

That second point is very important. Private members clubs still have to abide by data protection laws but we legally have to keep a record of who is in attendance for insurance purposes. All the info is on a secured database

Chameleons requires valid id for any memberships to verify that the person is whom they say they are. As its a private members club its a requirement of the insurance and also a safety aspect so that in the event of anything happening there os a valid record of who is in the building at any moment in time.

Over the next few Years it wont only be Swingers Clubs that youll be Needing to worry about regarding ID ,

Virtually all London West End clubs Require Photo Id now including Fetish clubs etc, and unbelieveably youre info is stored / shared throughout Westminster/and other London Authorities.

Big Brother is getting a Tighter Grip, and its spreading accross the UK

Using the Id Scanners Your details can be be cross-checked against multiple-data sets and must be kept on record (as far as we can see) Indefinitely.

The Metropolitan Police can also ask for weekly reports compiled from customer scans to be made available at their request.

It goes much Deeper than this,

Personal Privacy etc, could be compronised Due to the lack of control over the Sharing / Storage of the Data/and noting its already proven some of the Cheap Machines are easilly hacked and Given the fact that these machines can pick up more than enough data for identity theft Its more than a worry.

The Data Protection Act affords some protection but there seems to be a lot of grey areas with regards to club ID scans.

One further concern is that if a venue’s security bans someone unfairly,

They may then find themselves banned without appeal across a large number of venues – possibly an entire town.

Its the usual fear of a married man.its only a case of showing them who you are, usually a quick glance.they dont write your details in there computer. Just ring the club you want to go to and there answer your questions.
