"Was this a licensing meeting?"

Today was the meeting with the Planning Inspectorate to appeal about the local council's decision to have Kestrel's and AdFabs shut down

That is really bad if they have issues. They are the best club in London. Anyone else feel same way?

Yes - we love in Southampton but Abfabs is our closest (and best) club. If it closes then I don't know where we'll go instead

We've been to Hellfire in its Candygirls guise. It's nice but not a fraction of the size of Abfabs / Kestrels... and there's no wet area.

Even when the hearing has finish a government planning inspector will not make a decision there and then.It could take up too 26 weeks for the out come to be known. If the hearing is dealt with as a normal householder it would be around seven weeks.

And even then it can be appealed on certain grounds - some cases can take years to sort out and get a final decision on so I suspect (hopefully!!) they will be around for awhile to come as I love both kestrels and abs

What they really need is constituents to campaign against the council wasting resources in this process. I'm sure in these days the money could be better spent.

I thought this had been heard before and this was the result of the case being presented again following appeal and further investigation. Did I get that wrong?

From what I have read on the planning site where this is listed, the enforcement notice was issued and this is the appeal against the enforcement notice. Will take a while for a decision to be sent out as not told on the day normally.

There is a petition on Kestrel website and I would advice everyone to sign it as indeed we should support such great facilities made available for us.

Does anyone know the latest on the planning issue/ possible closure of the club ?

We were planning on meeting some friends at the club in early October who were needing to organise flights to and from Heathrow...

I believe the last update here was that there's a committee meeting in September at which things will be decided. I'd suggest giving the club a ring and asking them what the latest is.
