Reviews?

I have noticed that on the club reviews sometimes its the same profiles that do a cracking review week after week, so possibly motivated by being employees, regulars or friends of said club, so not impartial at all. There is currently a filter that prevents anyone from writing a club review if they have been members here for less than thirty days so it should be simple to tweak that filter to ONCE every thirty days? This should cut down on the spamming type reviews and even the nasty jealous reviews from rival clubs! I go to clubs a lot and often rely on reviews,it would be nice to know they aren't all written by the best buddies of the owners or the people who hate them . Would this be doable or agreeable do you think?

Would support this idea. One club is very transparent with this I often wonder if they belt it out on the PA on a club night to get people to do it.

My favourite are the reviews from the female half of couples who never seem to review from their couples accounts, only their single one to make it look like the club has lots of single women attending.

Closely followed by reviews from staff.

And an honourable mention to those that manage an ever more sycophantic review on each visit.

sadly the club reviews are abused in some quarters to such an extent as to render them not be fit for purpose anymore.

Agree so if people could only review a club once a month or even leave any club a review once a month that would surely help?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I thought it was one review per person every 30 days. I remember admin changing it then for some reason changing it back.

As said above its getting to the point where club reviews are useless, and I go along to make my own mind up. I don't know why they can't be changed so we are actually marking the club, not the people. Its not the clubs fault if there are not many people there, but it is the clubs fault if the rooms are dirty or the lockers are broken.

Maybe marks for cleanliness, facilities, events etc. And remove the 'avoid' rating. Just because a bloke went on TV night by mistake doesn't make the club bad. Maybe replace it with a 'not for me'.

Oooh, I wish I was admin sometimes so I could get the club page sorted.

Would be great to see the same amount of effort going into managing Reviews as goes into monitoring the Forums!

Personally I think the solution is that if clubs blatantly abuse it, then they should be removed from the listings. Though granted I can't see an easy way to manage that.

So you would have it that if you made it to three different themed nights at the same venue. You couldn't leave a review for those nights as you would have used up your shout on the first one. Hmmm

Well unless each night was so outrageously different from the others, why not? And its club reviews not event reviews remember. You are reviewing the facilities, the ambience, the staff, the management, the organisation. You are not reviewing the other people that happened to turn up on the night you were there and either fucked or didn't fuck your brains out

The club review is supposed to be for a review of the club and its facilities.

Why would you need to review the same club 3 times ,just because they had 3 events on that month.

How many reviews begin with "another cracking night"

That tells you bugger all about the club, only the event that has already been and gone.

Well perhaps because it the theme is different... Bondage... TV(as if) ect.. You just might want to leave your views on it.

The review section is worthless don't ever read it anymore, some clubs are much worse than others, we listen to friends now or just go and make our own mind up

Then maybe another section is required for "event reviews" only.

After all its only supposed to be a club review, so what kind of event was on is really irrelevant.

The basic club is still the same, unless during that month it had several makeovers/upgrades.

The system is indifferent at best and at times inaccurate - but we're familiar enough with Amazon or Tripadvisor to spot fake reviews, or see that what tickles some - turns off others.

I do use the reviews to see what types of people go to each club.

There's nothing stopping you from posting an event review on the forum page specific to clubs and events. Phukt @ Xtasia gets a fair few remarks the day after, and I contributed myself to the post-Swingfest reviews.

You only need to review a club now and then. What exactly is the point of reviewing them every week? They haven't changed, and its unlikely that a regular will post something critical.

I think you will all find that fab changed the counter from reviews to reviewers.

In doing so it made it a bit clearer as I agree the same reviewers week in week out makes it all a bit shallow.

I think the review section works well

I find them misguiding and they can be a put off when they're just references to how 'another' night went .. just my opinion .. When is a review not a review? When its not a review!

I would have to agree that a 30 day review rule should be no problem - I imagine not much changes within the month that relates to the club itself as opposed to those who happen to turn up on a particular evening.

Perhaps a split could be made between useful stuff like - 'has no showers and no lockable playrooms' - and the specific evening review - ' another great night 30 horny single girls turned up to play !' etc.

Personally I like to get an idea about a club from the reviews but often have to resort to phoning the club to get info - such as showers/costs/dress code etc. (and that's a pain as I am so lazy ! )- Also I have been a caught a few times - 'yes we have showers and provide towels' - turned out to actually be a cold dribble and an old rag !

There is a lot to be said about detailing an ambience which does change with those attending but really there is only on way to find out - go along and try !
