Lechambre - closest

New paradise club, few from your neck woods go.

The attic - again a few from your end go.

Prob best to look in club section on this site, read reviews, check out websites and decide that way.

Don't go on what you hear, the only way you know is to try it for yourselves. We go to La Chambre every weekend and love the place. It was the first club we ever visited and suited us as total newbies. There is no pressure to play and everyone is very friendly. Please don't base your opinions on others, try it and see. Alot of people writing reviews seem to have hidden agendas. We have been to Isis in Leeds, if we listened to others we would never have gone, we enjoyed it and would happily go again (we did lol)

We allow a 10% ratio of single guys in ( vetted and verified ) They are always very well behaved It is a very high majority couples though

I have to agree, that it really pays to make you own mind up. We were "warned" about certain nights in certain clubs.... Turns out those are the best nights we ever have.

Go with an open mind and the attitude of "if it's shit we just won't go again".

Any reputable club will be interested in your feedback, good or bad, and if you tell them it's your first visit then I'd expect them to make you feel extra welcome.

We've not been to la chambre, but it's on our list because we have heard good things.

No club is everything to everyone, so you're going to face the same problem with most clubs.

thanks for the advice, it's so hard to decide, we just want our first club expo to be good and we don't want to put off going again, we read all the reviews and there aren't many negatives about any which makes it all the more difficult

Youtopia is a great friendly club for first timers, they have Newbi nights too where there are often other first timers in the same boat.

Good luck, hope you enjoy!!

I agree with the above and La Chambre is on our to do list too.

If I were you, I'd suggest you have a think about what you want from a club and then start to select from there.

For example do you want to go on an open night when guys, girls and couples can all go in, or a night when it's just couples and single ladies?

Do you want to go to a club where the etiquette is to change into a towel/lingerie on arrival and where many of the people moving around the club will be in towels (for guys) and lingerie (for ladies) or one where you dress as sexy as you dare and most people would remain in various forms of clothes for most of the night apart from when they are playing?

Do you want to go to a large club with lots of different things happening or a small club with just a few rooms, and would having plenty of private rooms be important to you or would you prefer lots of open play areas?

Would you want a club with a jacuzzi or a club with a dark room and glory holes?

A key thing to consider is do you want a night when it's likely to be very busy such as a party night or a night when the club would just have it's normal mix of people in?

From our perspective, we have visited Xtasia in West Brom, Townhouse on Wirral, Infusions in Blackpool and Cupids in Manchester. They are all totally different to each other for example Infusions has a great swimming pool and a wonderful darkroom wheras Xtasia is a huge club with everything from a cinema, darkroom, dogging room, jacuzzi, huge dance floor, relaxing social area and plenty of private rooms aswell as open play rooms and a large couples only room.

I think if we were newbies to the club scene but confident about ourselves and playing, we'd go initially on a couples only night and would choose Xtasia but try to go when they have a party on as the club will be a lot fuller and therefore make it easier to mix with people and see the club in full use.

Hope that helps, if you fancy any more advice or the thoughts of Ruby instead of Jet, feel free to PM us.

Best of luck and have fun

Jet and Ruby

lots to consider, we didn't structure it like that and I think the thought of being dressed a daring as you can and maybe not to busy and possibly a couples night to start with (we have read about the myth that is the single male) thanks for helping us to qualify the situation club night it is

I really enjoy La Chambre. I only go on Saturdays (couples and single fem nights) if I'm taking a male friend or if I particularly want to socialise with certain people. I like Friday's for the single men and Sundays for the chill out vibe.

Don't believe everything you hear about single men. Yes there are occasionally those who don't grasp the rules or who think they don't apply to them. But a confident approach and being prepared to say a clear "no thank you" will deal with most issues. For any others just get staff to pitch in (though issues like that are rare).

Communicate before you go about what your limits are, what your preferences might be and perhaps a code word for get me out of this and another for I'd like to go somewhere private and rediscuss our boundaries...

Don't be shy to ask people to give you some space to think/discuss and do make sure you get a guided tour. This is where La Chambre are very good, all newbies get a tour and encouraged to ask lots of questions and if you ask you can be introduced to some people so you're not left standing like Norma and Norman no mates.

Good luck.

Newcastle and Gateshead

people we say to you from all over the country "go to our club"....

I am going to say "try somewhere local"...

If people don't support local clubs first and foremost they are going to struggle....

you have a good club in sheffield... you have some a little further afield... try them before going country-wide!

all clubs are different and what one person enjoys another wont, so always best make your own mind up and not always go on what others write about them.
