"King of the swinger hehe seriously tho what do you wanna hear ? ;o) x"

Really like that song (and film for that matter).

Thing is, for me, there are a lot of variables to this question such as what age group are you looking at, are you looking for a singles or couples or mixed kind of place, is it a club scene or meeting scene?

I think someone has asked if you have a dance floor? Is it just mild background music or something a bit louder.

I really do like music but have different tastes for different moods.

Am not trying to be pedantic but for me it is not as straightforward as it might seem

Nine Inch Nails, Rammestein, Marilyn Manson, Depeche Mode and Disturbed have all added to experiences and memories in the couples room at AntiChrist.

I hadn't realised they had announced anyone for the farewell.

Thanks for the offer but we have a big group of friends who we head there with already.

Someone going in my direction!

Must be very much background for me as I have a hearing problem and like Fabio I like conversation.

We love dance music. It always seems to get people on the dancefloor and in our experience have met some great people dancing rather than people stood around drinking not daring to approach people..

Doesn't the answer depend on stuff like the average age of the attendance?

As someone said, whether there is a dance floor to have a bop on will be important. With a dance floor you are committed to providing something to dance to, which will be a combination of upbeat and slow/smoochy numbers...from which era, see the first point.

If there is no dance floor then you are really only providing background music which ought not be too loud that people have to shout at each other to hold conversations.

Depending on the character of the club you might have to provide different music in different rooms. Happy-Clappy music in a dungeon room won't really work will it? Classic Hammer House of Horror music on the other hand...???

I'd say it might be a good idea to feature a request hour, so have a range of stuff to allow for flexibility.

Just some thoughts...

Reggae woohoo ! We was in Cap D'adge last August as we do every year and in one club they were playing smoochy songs like Lady In Red, hardly what gets me in the swinging mood, especially when the next song was our wedding song lol

I've noticed that when a man is (for better word) 'humping' a woman he will end up doing it to the beat of the music!

"as long as it isn't loud I don't care.... I like to be able to have conversation....."

Hard to have a chat to someone to establish what you're after when you have to shout over the the music. And the music always seems to die down for the track change at the worst possible moment!

OP...I like a variety of music and you'll never please everyone so maybe just fill an i-Pod up with all different styles and put it on shuffle. Upbeat is better though to keep the mood right...Unchained Melody for example is probably not a good track to play unless you have a pottery night going!
