the lodge, Gloucester - advice

Hi all,

Going to The Lodge, Gloucester for the first time in a few weeks with a couple.

What are members Thoughts of it?

and the website says to dress smart-casual. How strict/flexible is this?

Most people make the effort to dress smartly, and it is noticed by at least my other half if you don't - so like anywhere that you want to make a positive impression, make a bit of effort.

The Lodge is a great club and is a good place to go - say hi if were there

What night are you going ?

Certain themed event nights require smarter attire but if memory serves me right , Friday nights are casual now .

It's a great club and if you see us there , say hello !

I see from your meet request that you're going on a Saturday - therefore that means no jeans or trainers. Chinos/ Dockers etc are an acceptable alternative, though. A shirt looks smarter than a tshirt - women are dressed in little dresses etc, so it's nice to see some reciprocal effort from the men!

I remember last time I went feeling pissed off as I had made the effort and they let a guy in wearing shorts and saddles...... Grrrr.

If that was a party night then I'm guessing it wasn't strictly a 'Lodge' party - if the party is hosted by others the dress code doesn't always apply. otherwise the hosts are pretty strict on applying it x

Yes, and the dress code was NO JEANS, the guy in question technically therefore wasn't breaking dress code but the funny thing was everybody else was smart so he stood out ! lol , that particular night IS a private gang bang night so as above posting confirms that's their choice, we have now relaxed Friday but still has to be smart, and Saturday we are still NO JEANS, if you arrive in jeans of ANY kind you will pay £5 to charity and REMOVE them OR leave, so we do give you a choice ! lol, this policy as at the overwhelming request of lady guests who feel more effort is required by many guys in the dress code area.)
