I use a club in the north west and have just recieved a message from someone saying "I have heard there are stds at the club you use. have you heard that"

FIRSTLY no i havent and i wouldnt listen to gossip like that anyway.. Upon reading the persons profile who sent me the message it stated he only went bareback with ppl he knew lol well surely in this game if you choose to go bareback in a club with anyone its your responsibilty not the clubs!

The concerned has condoms FREELY available for anyone who wants them so my question is!

Why is a club getting crap like this? and do you think the club should be held responsible or are they doing all they can by offering free condoms!

A person's sexual health is their own responsibility... nobody else's. End of

No, the responsibility is on each individual to keep themselves as safe as they can. Everyone makes their own choices, but no one can force you to go bareback.

There are probably as many if not more people with STD's in the average pub/club on a Saturday night. Should they be named and shamed too?

Thought not... ??

Its not just bareback though can catch stds through oral too so at clubs or high volumes of sex then yes there would be a higher level of stds so just protect yourself as much as possible and have regular checks x

i do too even tho i never do bareback sex with anyone exept my husband... Its the individuals responsibility to look after themselves you cannot pass the responsibility onto a club just because you choose not be safe and careful.

I also work in a club that provides free condoms and also runs monthly sexual health clinics in conjunction with the local health authority.

Its an individuals responsibility to protect themselves from sti's., after all they make the choices to go bareback or play safe. I don't know of any club that promotes unsafe sex. Im the same as the lady above and only have unprotected sex with my husband.

It sounds to me like someone is trying to discredit the club and maybe has a hidden agenda.

Anyone that hears a rumour, and spreads it without checking its validity, is ultimately part of the problem.

Our local club also has started to have regular visits from health advisers for advice and testing on social nights.

A club can only promote safe sex, they cannot enforce it. When people come to our club for the first time they get a tour of the place, settled in and we highlight that we have condoms in all different shapes sizes and tastes freely available. We reiterate the need to look after number one and rubber up. We have a great relationship with the Terrance Higgins Trust and as part of our Licence we have had to sit amongst public health officials and had spot check visits by them...we don't mind as we know we try our best to protect our members. BUT lawfully, the club is a venue, pure and simple and the ultimate decision and implication is down to the individual.

This sounds like someone trying to discredit the club in question. Most clubs in our area take safe sex very seriously indeed!!

I just don't understand why people would put themselves and others at risk for the sake of a bare back shag!!! A grip of reality is needed I think! :-/

And I don't get why people can't just understand that some people want to go bare.. and some dont.

lmao luv it!

Seriously tho i have never had bareback sex in a club or on a meet and never will do but if i did( which isnt going to happen ) the responsibilty would be all mine not the clubs and whoever is sending these inflammatory messages about any club needs to get a life because they obviously dont have one at the moment! xx

Why would the club be held accountable?

It's down to the individual people to protect themselves not the club!!

This seems strange as the first message does not mention the name of the club.Is this someone being paranoid or a conspiracy ???

Just looked through the thread and a number of things strike me. As for someone is spreading rumours deliberately, I don’t go for the conspiracy theory. More like a local Daily Mail reader getting jealous. However 8 out of 10 of the population carry the herpes virus, almost everyone has HPV, there’s clymidia, a whole bunch of other nasties, and over 100,000 people are HIV positive but 25% of them don’t know it, so the rumour monger may have a point. Condoms reduce the chance of transmition, but they can’t be guaranteed to stop sweet FA, so get tested, regularly, PLEASE!!! The NHS staff are brilliant and the entrance isn’t round the back behind the coal any more. Stay happy, have fun but take care of yourself and that way you show you care and have respect for others. x
