clubs who want i.d. i understand why they want it,but the problem i have is that i dont drive or have a passport.now one club said ok bring a utility bill.another snag,i dont have any,as its all online now.help!!!

Utility bills,bank statements, phones bills etc are often on line now but easy enough to print them out and i would imagine most clubs would accept this in the age of technology we live in.

I think they need it for Health & Safety if god forbid there is a fire or some disaster, there would be some record of who is in the club.

Of course I might be completely wrong

No because otherwise it would be a requirement of all pubs and clubs.

I suspect it is because most are (nominally at least) private members clubs and therefore the members need to be logged.

Cheers for the info but still wondering what bills prove though as how can the owners know the bill belongs to the person ...photographic ID I get

A bank statement linked to the card you pay your admission with should be sufficient to prove who you are.
