Ab fabs...worth the money??

I plan on attending my first club night for my partners birthday in a couple of weeks and after looking through here I guess ab fabs is our best bet. After looking at their site the night we plan on visiting is a hedonism night and after we've paid membership, entrance and the extra for BBQ night it's a total of £90 to get through the door! Will it be worth it or should I look at somewhere else? x

It is an excellent venue - and as a single guy it is tremendous

I think it's worth it in the long run - the first up front cost is a hit but if you amortise it over several visits it works out being great value

The evenings can be anything between excellent and sensational

Have a blast !

PS - on here people only grumble about the price - not the quality - draw your own..............

I agree,£90 is a lot of money for a night out... And remember there is a good chance that the club won't be there much longer so you might only get a couple of months membership... But i guess it depends on how much £90 means to you? We would not spend £90 to attend any club in this country. Abroad, well thats a different story..lol

To be totally honest there is not alot to choose from. Don't get me wrong Abfabs is a good night out and has a lot to offer and is always very clean and tidy. But £90 to walk through the door is highway robbery. I guess it all depands on what you are looking for, what you enjoy and how far you are prepared to travel?

I really do think that all clubs should allow everyone there first night without having to take out a membership. Try before you buy, so to speak. Entrance fee yes, prove who you are, yes. Membership.. Why would anyone want to take out a membership to a place that they have never been to. The honest answer is that the club owner is trying to get the most out of you in case you never come back again. All clubs have to make money thats just a fact of life but the best clubs are the ones that do it without making you feel like that is what they are doing...!

We're only looking for a club as I have mo idea how to go about getting invited to private parties etc. any tips very welcome. It's my fb's birthday and he has never had ffm and I figured this was the best place to gain this experience and have a memorable night! x

Not sure how you arrive at £90. As far as I know membership is £10 and entry on a fri for a couple is £30 or £50 for a couple. BBQ is normally £5 per person so if you are going on a sat night I make it £70. It's byob and the facilities are great. Free soft drinks, tea and coffee not to mention the pool, hot tubs and sauna or the dungeon.

Yes it's a bit pricy but you really do get what you pay for

It's £60 entry, £10 each membership and £5 each for BBQ.

I have just checked the abfabs website and you are totally correct for the party you are looking at it is £60 per couple but it should be noted that a normal saturday night is £50. Why they are charging more for that party is a little strange?

Been Abfabs a couple times, and been Kestrals plenty of times and it is a great venue. Pending if the night is cpl's only or cpl's and singles night though you main get too much male attention than you bargained for. £90 is alot and you are not promised anything. We heard Our Place For Fun in North London or Hellfire in Sunbury are supposed to be ok too ( haven't been yet) , so good luck on the night and hope the birthday treat goes well!

If you book online rather than pay in cash then the cost is reduced to £45 per couple.. so that would bring it down a bit.. but i still think that membership on a first visit is still not fair for any club..

Slough

Well you could stop whining about it and go somewhere else that has prices and membership requirements your happy with.

I think Hellfire would be a better bet for you. If you arrive as they open its only a tenner.

Good luck unicorn hunting

Its not a case of whining is a simple case of open disscusion in a public forum. There is nothing wrong with free speech. And i would point out that i have said that Abfabs does have a lot to offer. But i do think that £90 is alot to ask for a first visit to a club. How on earth is that whining?

Our Place 4 Fun is on North London and I think they'll let you in without becoming a member - but call to check! That's £30 for couple on Saturday.

I have never been to AbFabs but everyone I've met who has been has said its got great facilities but isn't the best place to get chatting to people. We were advised to only go there with people or for a pre-arranged meet.

Maybe the Vanilla Alternative is too north for you? If not, it's a very nice classy club and great for a first visit. Very easy to get to - straight up the A1.
