"Cellular smart watch is the solution to both issues. We need to be immediately contactable in an emergency when out so purchased an Apple Watch for club visits. Likewise it can use Apple Pay. Fairly certain Android phones have a multitude of similar options too. We do carry out phone in our bag in some clubs to make private in closed play rooms but wouldn’t dream of having phone out otherwise." Not all smart / sports watches are supported. For us, zero phones is what we want otherwise we will not relax and play. Our phones go in the locker at the club, are used soley to pay any tab as we exit. If we want to record, then that's at home and in private

"At Ignite Friday and Saturday nights, phones are locked away at reception. During the day, phones should be in your locker and they have a little cubicle where you can use your phone to check messages. You can charge drinks to your locker key and pay at reception on the way out. " Yes their system works well

"we visit clubs where phones are allowed in the bar area " I wouldn't be comfortable in a club with phones in the bar

"I wouldn't go to a club that confiscated my phone on entry, like wtf? If it's not in my locker, my phone does not leave my side for a split second. There's no way I'm handing it to a stranger at reception. That's crazy. Far too much sensitive information on people's phones these days for such a policy to be acceptable." A club could put phones in lockable pouches that you can carry. They only open pouches as you leave. They use this system in some gigs nowadays.

" A club could put phones in lockable pouches that you can carry. They only open pouches as you leave. " How much would it cost a club to buy 200 or 300 pouches ? If you put your pouch down while playing, someone else could pick it up and take it.

"We recently encountered this at ignite, I know a few comments was made about handing I er phones in entry on a weekend but this was bank holiday, on arrival the 2 young lads that work there or are directors was sat in reception on Thier phones so hardly setting an example of acceptability within the club, then in the bar people was freely using their phones in front of staff, when we said something to the staff they just laughed and ignored it as think they felt uncomfortable, we went and told the manager who dealt with it but I think the standard had been set on entry, clubs should be a safe space to do what you want without fear of others able to take pictures or videos, we decide what to share and with who not someone that has potentially taken images without our consent, the whole incident has put us off ever returning to ignite, whilst they can't be everywhere to control everything they can set the example and confront it when it's happening right in front of them " On Friday and Saturday party nights phones must be handed into reception on arrival at Ignite. On spa days and evenings you are expected to keep it in your locker and use the phone booth in the changing rooms if you want to use it. We have spotted a woman using a phone in the bar area recently and reported it to staff who dealt with it immediately.

"Chams run a tab based on your locker number and you pay at the reception desk when you leave. Solves the problem." Club No3 in Chorley does this. Works perfectly. Get key for locker on entry, dress down in locker room and phone goes in the locker, at the bar they they ask locker number and tab there all night. Can go to locker room and check phone if need to with baby sitters and so on but never bring phone out past the locker room door. End of the night pay your tab and all good. Don't know why that wouldn't be the rule everywhere. 🤷♀️
