"Having recently moved to Spain we have been looking at the club scene. Although swinging in Spain is not as popular as the uk it is still happening here. Has anyone tried El jardin del Eden in Alicante ? Their website looks good but can't find any reviews. Has anyone got any recommendations for Spain ? " You would be surprised as to how big the scene in Spain really is. I think Madrid has more clubs than any other European city. The first thing you should know about Spanish clubs is that (apart from Gran Canary) they are very Spanish, very few expats or holiday makers tend to got to them, so a few words of Spanish is more than handy. Secondly, most start and finish very late, usually 11pm opening and very little happening until 1am or later, expect to be going home at 3 or 4am. There are quite a few clubs around the Alicante area, Cupido, Jardin del Eden, Atrevete, and Play Papua, are in and around the city, and there is also Puerto de Amore at Guardamar, and La Arboleda de Similia in Elche. We've only been to Jardin del Eden once and to be fair we were too early and it was very quiet so we left. Puerto de Amore does get a few non Spanish in but it's a bit of a dump and not very busy so we've only been a couple of times. We went to La Arboleda a few times and was very busy but tended to be more posers around the bar than action in the rooms. Play Papua and Atrevete we've not tried yet. Our favourite is Cupido especially on Wednesdays in the summer. The do and outside BBQ and we like the early (5.30) start and (11.30) finish. Hope this helps.

" All good news guys, thank you for the info. We have been browsing the forums for info, and certainly knowing Spanish helps. It does appear that you can spend the day at Jardin del Eden where they also have an outside BBQ. So, I reckon there and, following your advice, Cupido, will be the first for us to visit Once again, thank you - very useful info.

" MODS - PLEASE create a section for Euro venues!" We've been asking that one for ages but nothing has happened yet On the above list of Spanish clubs we can confirm that Bilitis (Alicante) has now closed pity we used to like that one, Costa Blanca Secrets party's have finished, and DD (Dirty David) party's have also pretty much finished, although we have heard that he is holding an occasional one at a different venue. We will have to take a fresh look at Berlin, it's a few years since we last went and decent clubs in the city were a bit hard to find then, most were way out in the suburbs.

"shame Bilitis has closed - wasn't the same really after they moved premises. we'll just need to find another club for our next trip out there in August...." Yes the old Bilitis was great but when it moved it just seemed to go downhill. We like Cupido, and are going to take a fresh look at Jardin del Eden in the next week or two. If you are around in early August we will still be here so if you fancy meeting at one of them, give us a shout.

"We arw also looking to try Jardin del Eden when we get the chance. Just wish admin can get their act together and include clubs in a Worldwide section. It would make it so much easier for everybody" This PLUS ONE Maybe if loads of people out in the request at the same time - maybe - just may be the site could be even better!

"We can advise you on Berlin, drop us a message. Insomnia was one of the best clubs there, more of a dance fetish venue, but very very good. " Yes we were looking at that and the KitCat club. How are the locals towards the Englanders lol

"'Hello my name is Gerte and this is Eric, we are here to play, would you like to join us...?' And its like the Blitzkrieg from there on in... don't worry, in a good way. " I think we would prefer that!

" Ha, so you know my Mrs then They are not really that bad (or good LOL). We've been to lots of German clubs and although I can relate a little to that most are very friendly and respectful. We've only been to one club around Berlin, Temple Oasis at Teltow which is just outside the city. We had a good night in there and there were even a few other English speakers (mostly American) It is more of a proper swinger club than some of the others which are more like erotic disco's.

"Temple Oasis is a superb club, what decor! Amazing place! Sorry didn't meant to imp,y that Germans were forceful, rude or impolite, simply that they are good at getting on with it but as said above, do it with the upmost respect. " Is that the place with the restaurant? How does this swingers club differ from the nightclubs?

Most German swinger clubs have a restaurant, and food and free bar is usually included in the admission price. By nightclubs I assume you mean the swinger clubs described earlier as erotic disco's. The main difference in the erotic disco types is that the emphasis is on the music and the dance floor. While there is some action in the play areas they are not as "full on" as the more swinging orientated ones, also the age group tends to be much younger and many only go to see, be seen, and dance (in the sexiest of outfits of course)
