Hi all as anybody been to Abfab & Kestrel near Heathrow airport? Great if you could share you’re experiences please. We’re thinking of going and wondered what it’s like for a cpl new to the scene.

I've go regularly as a single guy and sometimes as part of a couple.

It's a great place, but weekdays are hit and miss in terms of numbers and ratio of single guys to couples (often it's way more single guys).

I've not been in the evening for ages but when I have gone, it's beem a good crowd.

Sundays are almost always busy with a good mix of people.

Hope this helps!

Sunday is busiest. Wednesday nights are good and attract some nice couples.

It's quality over quantity for us, and for most couples, and so ratios and numbers seem to mean more to single guys than couples.

Abfab party nights are good fun.

We have been as a couple several times during the day in the last three months, always enjoy the experience, plenty of space, the place is clean and 95% of the single men really nice and respectful.

Like everywhere, yesterday was always busiest or better but we have had some amazing time's and met some great people

From our experience recently, avoid Sunday as we found it highly populated with unfriendly single guys (not all) but enough to put most people off. During the week was better for the spa day time especially if new to the scene. The place has great facilities, very clean, the bar area is nice also. We'll be returning but on couple nights only and during the week to avoid the small minority of weird single men with no respect.

We love it.

We were there on Friday afternoon and had a great time with a great pack of lads who devoured E and made her feel a million dollars.

I think it’s a great place, friendly and people are generally respectful.

We've been twice and the place is awful. Dirty playrooms, haven't been cleaned in months and rude staff. Predatory couples just watching and pouncing on new couples in the dark room. There's not much action anywhere other than the dark room and the music is awful, there's no one on the dancefloor.

There's much better clubs around the spend your money. This is one of the worst we've been to.

So much potential, piss poor management and rude staff sadly

If dark rooms where couples watch (quite a trick in a dark room) and “pounce” etc are not to your liking, then perhaps try a dark room that has the lights on..

Not sure if any couples actually use the dark room (maybe it’s a couples night thing), imho the rooms (and whole club)are pretty well cleaned and looked after and the staff have always been a delight. Lots of space, great facilities. I must have been going to a different place to the earlier poster but people can only call it as they find it.

Between Chichester and Havant

I've been a few times as part of a couple to kestrels but not the abfabs side.

We made use of the facilities, pool was cool and not warm, hot tubs are popular. We also played in the dungeon, mainly on the st Andrews cross.

The majority of single guys were respectful, had one or two, particularly when playing in the dungeon who overstepped and would get in the eyeline of my sub, despite being asked to stand behind the play area.

Also had the door of a playroom tried a couple of times, luckily we had locked it.

On the whole, I found it clean, hot tubs were regularly checked and staff very friendly. If the playrooms weren't clean, that's down to those who had previously played, not the staff, as etiquette says you wipe everything down after use, with supplied antibac and paper towels.

We go regularly. Sundays are our favorite day.

We enjoy chilling in the pool or in the lounge, the playrooms are pretty good, lots of rooms to choose from and a decent cinema room.

It can get pretty heavy with guys. But they are mostly respectful and no trouble.

Abfabs is Friday and Saturday evenings Kestrels is the rest of the week. But the same membership for both

We went on a Saturday night and compared to other clubs the playrooms are dirty...

We did a test and wrote a message on one of the mirrors just past the dark room. 2 weeks later we when to check and the message was still there. Most of the playrooms had cobwebs, even basic cleaning would wipe down the mirrors and get rid of the cobwebs. Then again everyone's hygiene standards are different. But in a club you'd expect hygiene standards to be high. The bar staff are just condescending and plain rude.

You were referring to “predatory couples”, no mention of single guys - or are you just assuming I’m one of the predatory ones?…

I’m not sure you fully get the idea of a dark room so perhaps avoid it as it’s not for everybody which is fine.

The playrooms are cleaned when the club is closed and kept as clean as possible when it’s open along with the provision of anti bacterial spray, paper towels and a bin with a bin liner in each room. Everybody would like to think that couples, single females and the pits of the earth (single guys) clean the room after each time they’ve used it.

If you’ve found a room to be filthy then you have most likely been unfortunately unlucky as many others haven’t.

Yeah, I've never had an issue with the cleanliness of the place... I go quite often and the only issues I've had (in terms of facilities) are when the hot tubs aren't quite ready first thing!

We have been a few time's in the last few months and we haven't had any problems with the cleanliness of the rooms, changing areas etc.

Everything has always been clean, yes one or two single guys have to be reminded that no is no but very much the minority and not as bad as lot's of other club's we have been too.

If the people before you have left a mess then there's nothing the management can do.

And if you don't want to be groped by strangers don't go into the dark room.

The new couples room is a great idea

Such a shame you didn't enjoy it and have had a bad experience!

I've always had a great time there, no problems from single males or couples and found everyone really welcoming.

The staff have been superb.

Admittedly the rooms are cleaned by those who have used them, I like to give it a good vlean afterwards

It's not the Ritz (I have been) but not for fun

Been there a few times in the day.

It’s a bit hit or miss on numbers, especially couples, but then most places are inconsistent during the day.

It seemed pretty clean, but it’s a big place, and some places are better maintained than others. New bar looks ok.

Pool is big and always been warm when there, although they’ve bad a lot of trouble with the pumps and most of the water jets weren’t working last couple of times we went. Not sure how hygienic still swimming pool water is.

The one thing I definitely don’t like is the management style and atmosphere they occasionally create. The owner is super anxious about losing her licence and transmits that anxiety to the staff. This can often lead to an overbearing explanation of rules, often delivered in dramatic fashion, and stressed out enforcement of them.

My favourite comment was hearing a member of staff tell a new visitor that sex was banned in the pool because STD’s can survive two weeks in there. Whilst me and my partner were swimming! (STD’s can’t survive in pool water btw, I checked after 😂)

That said, it’s not stopped us going back, other options are limited, and on balance it’s ok.

Thanks, that’s the same thing I read.

It’s a bit scare mongering, and the important part is at the end, remember it’s rare to catch anything.

Also, I’d take a lot of the article with a pinch of salt. It says chlorine can’t kill HIV for example. There are no known cases ever of catching HIV from pool or hot tub water.

And things definitely don’t sit there for two weeks!

As I said, staff spreading over anxiety.

I am staff, and we have professionals come in and train us on water and this is what they tell us. It may be rare, but it not impossible. Besides, who wants to get in a hot tub or pool with semen and other bodily fluids floating around.

My point wasn’t that sex should be allowed. You could easily just say what you just said there.

Instead, a member of staff loudly announced that STD’s can live for two weeks in chlorinated water……whilst 3 shocked couple were having a swim….😂

And lets be honest, even when being careful, there are many many other activities going on that are more dangerous than the pool…..even a simple kiss 😉
