We went today & used it,it's a great addition however if I could fault it,(and it's not really a fault more of a recommendation)- personally I'd move the bed to the right hand side which would allow it to be made bigger & then the sofas to the left, but other than that it's a long overdue remake of this area which will be mega popular with couples

I wonder if this has come about because the club has started allowing single gents most Saturday nights recently, which I know a lot of couples won't be too pleased about?

Didn't realise that till I just checked on their website obviously a financial business decision, but yes you're right that means there's now only one couples only event per month for those that don't wish to be bothered by single guys, So that room will definitely be getting used to the max lol

Yes I guess financially the club wants/needs the single guys in at however-much it is per chap, but it definitely does change the dynamics having single guys there and a lot of couples don't want that so I guess will either go elsewhere or base themselves in the couples room.

And if the couples all base themselves in couples room single guys will eventually stop going ( or well behaved ones might) which then backfires on club?

Good to have somewhere for couples who are not interested in singles to mix. Anything that helps couples and single fems feel better is a good move and the place is always better with the fairer sex around whether they are interested in me or not.

What a refreshing viewpoint and we totally agree with you. We often play with select respectful guys at the club but there are a few times when single guys get a bit too much and follow you everywhere when you might just want to chill out. The new couples room is a great addition and will be a welcome escape when needed lol

It definitely changes the dynamics. If unlimited single men are admitted then it will be just like a Friday night. You then have queues of men following you around. We would probably stop going in that scenario, regardless of the couples room (which sounds a great addition).

I think it was put out on the website or to those that receive emails they done a survey to ask on opinions and the decision they made was based on the results.

It might be that some couples single women that are open to single guys can only mainly attend on a Saturday so it suits for them.

I think it’s good the club still came to a solution for the couples on what use to be only a couples night by spending out and building a couples room only. To please all customers involved within the decision that was made.

Very pleased about the change as means it gives us more options to attend on a Saturday night rather than a Friday as our preference is nights with single men as we feel the vibe is much better than a couples night. This goes for all clubs we have been to not just this one.

As for the Couples room looks good we popped in there on Friday.

Most clubs do tend to have a couples room, have to say was impressed with VA’s couple room so we think it’s a welcomed addition. Single guys do bring in the a lot of the income I guess so at least us couples will have a choice, either retreat to the couples room or don’t.

Yes the couples only area at VA is excellent. It is worth pointing out that though that the majority of their Saturday parties are couples and single women only, and are well attended.

So no more Couples/Single ladies only on a Saturday night? Wow didn't think this club could get any worse but they surely are trying. Potential to be one of the best clubs but needs a total management clear out. Thought the council was trying shut this place down

There will be one Saturday a month for Couples and Single ladies only.

Not sure where you got the idea that the council were trying to shut the place down. Unless you’re referring to the ‘old venue’?

That's a prime example then & why the couples only room was greatly needed - we were there on Sunday got in at 1ish & left by 3 rather than stay on late! not every couple want to play with single guys, be followed around or leered at, not all guys dispite being told the club etiquette actually adhere to it & this can ruin a couples experience, perhaps the more experienced guys should police those that often ruin it for others especially newbies & first timers there, now there's a choice for us, as a couple we often play with single guys but even we have left early due to constantly being followed - it's a shame there's only going to be one Saturday a month for couples & single girls & I hope that won't have an adverse effect to what is otherwise a great club with excellent facilities & value for money

Really interesting reading the comments here. I am a very experienced single guy and definitely one who knows how to conduct himself.

I totally get it that there a lot of single guys that do not..I actually have policed such in both vanilla and play situations, reinforcing to them the expected etiquette.

However there is a pervasive attitude from a lot of couples that single guys are either some sort of cash cow for a venue or not worthy of breathing the same air they do.

Trust me, as a genuine experienced single guy, that is as equally off putting to me as I'm sure couples find being trailed by guys that they feel are pestering them is...which absolutely of course should never be the case.

I recently had a short conversation with a couple on a night at the club...short because the first words from their mouth was "we dont play with single guys" to which I replied "well there is quite an assumption becasuse Im not looking to play with you!"

This club is run brilliantly so I'd suggest to anyone feeling pestered on a night there to tell the team and they will sort it out.

Besides the new couples area this club already provided a number of private lockable rooms and this new area is a further addition to those, which as a previous comment here mentioned, is the result of a survey the club did of its members.

So to sum up...the single guys who behave like idiots piss off...you give us good ones a bad name, to the couples who enjoy the company of decent single guys and view such with a modicum of respect thank you and to the couples that have the kind of attitude towards single guys as some have exhibited above and I have unfortunately experienced myself...give your heads a wobble!!!

You recognise in your contribution that some single men “do not know how to conduct themselves”. This is not going to change and for some couples this will remain a constant source of irritation. I suggest that the couple who told you “we don’t play with single men” were fed up with being approached, touched or worse.

The survey of members will surely have been distorted by the responses of single men who

probably account for 50% of the membership. Hard to believe they would have wanted couples nights to continue! Obviously some couples do want the attention of single men.

We don’t mind some contact with single men and on Kestrels days we’re happy to socialise etc. However it is a different vibe.

We will give the Saturday nights a try, but it probably means that on a free Saturday night that Abfabs will not always be our first choice any longer unfortunately.

Great post & well put by looking at it from both sides, unfortunately the thread seems to have gone off track slightly & turned into a singles bashing thread rather than a positive thread for the couples room lol - I would like to make one point though & that is when we very first came into this lifestyle, it was called wife swapping & clubs were far and in-between tbh I can only really remember one in the whole of the UK at Radlett- we never saw single guys or woman as you needed a partner to be in the scene to swap! Times & dynamics change & now theres many more clubs as well as singles using them as an extension to Tinder & plenty of fish- & yes while there's quite a few couples out there that do want to play with single guys, there's just as many who don't, hence the need for a couples only room, there did use to be a room overlooking the pool that were for couples only to chill & chat in, which unfortunately was closed due to being abused but was ideal to be able to get away from single guys that think as they've paid more to come in, then they can act in a disrespectful way towards couples

I went to a paid event where it was very much a couples seeking couples vibe, several were quite rude to me literally pointing to the nearest single guy and saying "go play"...

It's not just single guys that can act badly within the lifestyle.

Sidenote this was my first paid event but I've not let it put me off, trying again next month.

I think with the way hospitality is going (and these clubs do fall under that), you're going to see more clubs opening up to singles on the majority of nights.

The introduction of the Couples and Single Only Ladies room is a space for them to go and play/decompress.

Always let staff know if there are troublesome single gents. All clubs get them, not just this on in particular. They do get dealt with and either spoken to or asked to leave.

That's why we only go to quality clubs on Couples/Ladies only nights. We are out to have fun not have to deal with morons in clubs

(not all single gents) but just don't need this. Go to quite a few different clubs and haven't heard this from any of the owners we know opening up to single gents on both nights.

Their Couples/Ladies only nights are very well supported. It may only be clubs struggling to get people through their door that are desperate enough to open up to single gents all the time.

Think you will find a lot more clubs have their Saturdays open to single gents if u had done some research, penthouse playrooms and hellfire to name a couple locally that have single guys on certain Saturdays of the month.

You will get “moron” single men just like you get “moron” husbands which tbh we have seen more trouble on a couples night than a singles!

For a fact I know a lot of couples which like single men but work on Saturdays so struggle to attend the Friday nights. This opens up more of an opportunity for those too. Plus u get a nice lazy day on Sunday after!

Shame they have caved and allowed single guys in on a Saturday as was nice to go along and not be followed by the wanking dead, and was a much nicer environment to relax in.

Will just have to time the visits to the couples and single ladies weeks only in that case.

Great news about the couples room mind - that could be a lot of fun watching and playing!

And other couples will be. I do agree that it may change the dynamic a little but the problem isn't allowing single guys in it's how things are managed and the quality of the guys allowed entry. There's plenty of clubs who admit single guys on Saturdays very successfully.

Also for any couples troubled by the thought of sharing their space with single guys, look on the bright side- an increase in single guys means an increase in single women.

As someone already said, times are tough for the hospitality business and if it's not being financially viable to restrict entry on certain nights it's inevitable that something has to change (either thru price rises or opening up the nights).

There is a simple way to avoid such a tiny issue - just give wrist bands with different colour showing if you interested in playing with single guys or not. In US this is a norm, all couples are offered a choice. Even singles males are offered a wrist bands too showing that they are single and not attending as a couple, win win for everyone

We used to love the old Abfabs & want to try the new one again - the thing that puts us off is the first time cost for a couple as a couple you both have to purchase a membership for £25 each, plus the cost of the entry so it ends up about £100 to try the club or spa. We think this puts a lot of couples (like us) off visiting for the first time. If they offered 1 free entry when you take out a membership (either day or night) we think a lot more couples would give it a try & once they are members they would hopefully keep coming back

There is a social being held before the club tomorrow night from 7pm-8.30pm but u can stay in the club for the evening, it’s just £25 for a couple and gives u a free 6month membership for the social nights which is the third Friday of the month and is on the London forum to put names down for the link to book on and more info!

It’s a good opportunity to see the club and spa and if u like it you can purchase the full membership on ur next visit if it’s a different day/night. Always a great welcoming crowd

And a good night!

We were there yesterday. its 'labelled' as a couples and single females only' room, so yes, you can. We didnt use the room but did have a look. It has one large bed at one end and two leather couches at the other. The door is not lockable and there are no windows. The old 'glory holes' area has been reduced in size to just 2 (or was it 3) holes.

I'd say 3 comfortably (so 6 people) but more if you like it 'cosy'. There are also two (or was it three) leather couches at the opposite end to watch/play and plenty of standing room. I didnt notice a lock on the door so they are relying on single men to observe the rule. Not that you'd want a lock on the door. There is no window either.

It's meant to be a sanctuary for couples and single ladies at any time. Putting a lock on the door restricts any couples and single ladies who may need to decompress and retreat for a moment or two.

The amount of times we went to a couples night and had to deal with pushy "husbands" ... Whether single men are allowed or not, it should all be common sense really, no discrimination.

If anyone bothers anyone, it's easy enough to get them reported and kicked out - we think everyone should be allowed at all times as there are some wonderful single men out there who are respectful, experienced and know how to play the game.

Controversial, I know! But wow, aren't we all responsible adults? Some male halves of "couples" are a lot worse than the single men really ...

An easy & cheap use of the existing floor plan in an otherwise unused area- simply use the old corridor from the bar end down to near the cinema, build a single stud wall down the centre of the coridor- gents access by the existing door by the pool table - veri from glory holes to grope holes & allow the ladies to enter from a new door at the opposite end of the corridor by the cinema room & use a green light, switched & operated @ the female end to show the guys there's someone behind the wall

"Really interesting reading the comments here.

We had a good visit and found the couples/single ladies room. It's a good idea but does get full as it's a small area, only a few couples can play within. We enjoyed ourselves overall though.

A small minority of single guys (not all single guys as that's not fair to say!) were very awkward we found, and definitely ruin some of the experience unfortunately, don't seem to get the message when clearly not interested, but persist to follow you around (weird). If you are one of those guys, it's not cool, to be honest it's quite pathetic. Luckily we have the experience to deal with but can understand it putting people off visiting.

Think we'll plan our future visits on couple events or during the week spa days, this will limit (some) of the encounter with those awkward individuals.

Swingers club or sec club rely on single men’s money - they have to invite them to make the business profitable, that’s the reason you have only one night for couples and single female. If you are ask clubs to vet all the single males - it’s impossible task for them, if you deny accesss you lose money. I said earlier as well - start giving the wrist band based on what you are interested in that evening. If couples don’t want single males to follow them they should wear a colour of band that says no to single men - it’s super easy. Most of the club in US follow it and this keeps the annoyance at the bay..don’t know why clubs in UK don’t follow such stuff

To be honest we're not sure wearing bands will work as we were very clear that we had no interest (respectfully) in single men but that didn't stop the following.

If even reported, this would be difficult to police.

Yup - all based on the band’s colour. So that you get what you are looking for rather than unnecessary attention..here we call it GB there, they call it DTF nights - even for those who wants that, there is a wrist band for it too…couples can have more than one on their hand…

"

I have complete sympathy for anyone who has experienced unwanted attention sometimes despite making clear thier feelings and anything which can reduce/eliminate this has to be worthy of consideration.

Personaly I have only once attended an event where bands were worn so I’m no expert (it did seem to be a big help that night for the record). However I’m pretty sure it would work with very many single guys. In theses situations It’s very difficult to know who would welcome the attention (always with permission) or maybe just enjoy being watched, or are happy to chat and distinguish those from couples and single fems who would have their night ruined by such attention.Who really wants to disturb anyone who you are certain isn’t interested in you, being despised isn’t much of a turn on?

If its already tried, tested and doesn’t work, fair enough, otherwise trying it out on some nights could be interesting.

As for policing wouldnt it be easier for other people to identify and report or educate non compliance if it was clear that the people in question did not want to be approached?

Personally (tounge in cheek) I’d welcome a qr code link to a full list of personal do’s and don’ts, I mean who wants to feel like a sex offender.

As a single guy who often attends on my own I would welcome this although I recognise that I’m not who we are aiming to help. What is the experience of those who have used US clubs?

I think my only concern for the bands is:

1. Everyone needs to remember what correlates with what colour.

2. You’ll have an armful of bands

Think the bands would cause further issues then it's worth, and hassle for the sake of a small minority of pathetic individuals. It's just embarrassing, really sad actually, sort of feel sorry for them but not really.

Perhaps the other negative of using colored bands, a new couple might want to dip the toes in and be open for conversation, and see how it goes. If they go for the colour open for single attention, Jesus - they would be swamped within minutes and be put right off I'll imagine.

Maybe the current bands (holding the locker key) should have a clear number printed on it, and be reported against so it can be tracked and serial offenders dealt with.

Probably goes back to the easiest method, if you don't enjoy or like it, tough, don't attend

My partner and i Met a lovely couple last thursday and they invited us into the couples/ single ladies room. It is a lovely sanctuary and we had alot of fun away from prying single guys wanking over us. There is no lock but we had no guys wandering in. We were joined by another couple where we played and it got into a very messy legs everywhere beautiful sexual moment. The bed did get very wet as well as the people on there by my partners propensity to squirt quite a river. We enjoyed it in there considerably and is a very exciting addition.

Yeah, maybe we can all line up Usual Suspects style when a buzzer goes off and get picked by a single lady or couple from behind one way mirror so we can enter the actual club facilities. When they finish with us we go back in the single men room. Sounds great.

Sounds fun, as long as there are things to play with in the room, other blokes to chat to, plus decent porn. Not getting picked is the only potential downside but hey what’s different from most club nights!
