I'm planning on taking my boyfriend to a swingers club as a surprise. I don't want him to know until we arrive, so what should I get him to wear? Smart shirt, jeans and shoes? X

Dress to impress is usually my guidelines, so smart casual usually fits the bill. If you're planning on playing then clothes you can easily get out of and back into; and not your favourite underwear in case you can't find it later!

Is it a dry or wet club, if it one with a jacuzzi etc, most guys just wear a towel or shorts etc and girls, sexy bedroom attire or a towel

Thank you both. I meant what I'd get him to wear to arrive in, just to clarify. :P does a suit normally go down better?

Most clubs state their dresscode on their website.

The only guidance it gives is 'dress to impress'. I'm one of these people that doesn't want to turn up more dressed up than everyone else.

Also double check as I think some clubs are over 21 or over 25.

Which club? Because I agree that is somewhat vague and would have the same concern. I suspect somehwere like Torture Garden's take on dress to impress could be different to most swingers clubs!

The clubs we go to, smart jeans and a shirt are deemed fine.

It's the Townhouse Wirral.

Fair point, pretty sure there's is 21, understandably.

You have to un dress after 11, well that was the rule at one time.

Just wondered, he knows you're interested in clubs? It's not going to be a huge surprise that totally freaks him out is it?

"You have to un dress after 11, well that was the rule at one time."

It's strongly advised now, but the meaning is just the same. :P

Dress to impress.

Was at the Townhouse last night and most, men and women, were well dressed and looking good.

But there was one fella in scruffy jeans, trainers and a grubby jumper. It baffles me what goes through their mind when they think that's acceptable.

Or maybe it's just me who thinks you should dress up for a night at a club?

I was at Townhouse on Saturday night as part of a couple. Dress to Impress from a guys perspective would be what you'd expect to wear if going into Matthew Street or Concert Square as in smart trousers and a shirt or something similar. I actually went in a suit and open necked shirt, though my lady friend nicked the jacket as soon as we got out of the car and the club itself was really too warm to wear a suit jacket in. My lady friend went in a matching PVC skirt and top with stockings, we weren't sure whether ladies would wear their play outfits on arrival or not, but in practice most ladies wore very smart dresses on arrival and later changed into various levels of sexy lingerie as the evening wore on.

The dress down rule was clearly explained on this basis. Downstairs you could continue to wear the clothes you arrived in all night. After 11pm if you went upstairs beyound the changing room you had to have changed into your playwear, being a towel and/or shorts/boxers for the guys and ladies towels or as sexy as they dared....

It was my first time at this club and we found both as a couple and as individuals that everyone made us feel very welcome and while we only played alone on this occasion, we had a fun night.

Hope this helps

Mark
