can anyone recommend a fetish club for a first time couple? and are the fetish nights at swinging clubs full on fetish or more like fancy dress?

I've only been to the fetish event at xotix. And not quite sure what you mean about fancy dress but it's a very informative event. Not many people in pvc etc though.

vanilla alternative best weekend for the skin two event.

the club definitely one of the best in the UK. and you can stay in the hotel rooms above the club....

so all in fetish that you can b point a whip at !

Arousal in Dunstable do a fetish night, it's very good and a great mix of people & outfits. It's one of our fave places to go. Great staff and well run.

We also recently went to Bizarre Events in Southwark London and was also a great night, very friendly people and well run.

A lot will depend on the level you are looking for.

If you are looking for dedicated Fetish nights around the London area you would find it hard to get better than any of the nights organised by Decadence, Subversion or for a big night out Torture Gardens.

These are full on fetish events held at various clubs.

You also may want to try going to one of the London Fetish Fair events (www londonfetishfair co uk)

They start on Sunday afternoons once a month, there will be a lot see and you can find out about a lot of other events and places from there. The next is then 14th April then 12th May.

You can dress up a bit (fetish wise) or just turn up and buy something to wear if the mood takes you.

We plan to go so say Hi if you get there

Also if you want different dates try the similar LAM (London Alternative Market) - www londonalternativemarket com) which is on today LOL then the 5th May.

After that there is also Club wise, the Old Helfire Club in south west London that does a monthly fetish night with dungeon etc. Their next is the 20th of April.

I will post any more if I think of them.

(The others posted above arn't bad either

My(Sam) first experience of a fetish night was at Club Decadence at a venue in London. It really was an amazing experience. Very interesting,extremely well organised, welcoming and sexy. Ideal for any first timer. I found its very different to events held at swinging clubs. (IMO)

Think it may be time to visit again

Our first fetish experience was the BBB at nightingales a few weeks ago.

That was great fun!

Today - we are off to try The Lodge in Gloucester - seems to get some good reports - will let you know what that's like!

It depends on your fetish. Fetish events at proper "scene" clubs are normally tailored to 1 or 2 particular fetishes, for example, PissSoirs (is what it says), Rubber Cult and Club Rub etc.

We find fetish events at Swingers Clubs to be fun but a very very water downed version of what you get at a dedicated fetish events, and the people there generally don't really know what they are doing and they tend to be full of people who are all show and no go. But, saying that, if you are just getting into the exploration of Fet then these are probably good places to start. Here's a good way of describing it, comparing a nightclub in your local town to Manumission in Ibiza, both on paper are the same but Manumission is where you go when you realise how weak the club in town is.

I'd echo all the recomendations above (well except the reference to TG which while it may be attnded by plenty off the fetish scene is not really a fetish night), there are some great clubs there.

The scene in London is huge and thriving in London and though I can;t give you a first hand account I know there are a lot of account in Essex too.

But the scene is diverse so you need to think about what you want to explore. My advice, would be gwt to some munches or the 2 markets (LAM and LFF), get talking to people and see what events they recomend.

Think the rooms have all long soince been booked up - thankfully we are only 20 minute drive away though!

I don't quite understand why Torture Garden isn't really a fetish night. I have been to all the nights I mentioned and although TG can sometimes be over run with posers it is still a leading fetish club both in terms of numbers attending, performers and range of equipment available to use in scenes. I know it is sometimes limited by the venue but if you go to all three nights you are quite likely to see some of the same faces at all of them.

I do agree about going to the markets and pop along to the after parties if you can.

Pretty much without exception everyone we know on the fet scene won't go to TG or if they do it is very much to dance, dress up and party rather than to play. And the same reasons is always given - namely the attitude of the non scene clientelle.

Which isn't to detract from TG as a great night out (because it is) but as an introduction to the fet scene, not what I'd recomend.

But we fully accept that it's horses for courses and finding the night that suits best. For instance you recomended Subversion, all of our friends love it and it rightly has a reputation as one of the best nights in London and we will recomend it to anyone purely on it's reputation, but we really didn't rate it and wouldn't rush back.

Having been in the fetish scene and swinging scenes for a number of years if unsure, then go to a fetish event at a swinging club to get a taste of it. But it will be tame compared to some clubs that are aimed at the fetish community. But lately we have found there are fewer decent fetish clubs around that encourage play, hence we tend to do more private parites now!
