Derby

After a constructive meeting yesterday we are pleased to say that the opening of the Attic is moving ever closer. Though no exact date can be set today we are hoping to be be open around the middle of May. One final inspection date has been set and further information will be posted on here as we have it. We look forward to seeing you all soon and thanks for your continued support.... The Attic x

"Amazing news guys! Finally a light at the end of the tunnel "

Feels like we could see the light at the end of the tunnel for a while and no matter how much we did it wasn't getting any closer.

But more positive news and can't wait to see you all.

We've never visited the old club, but our local club used to run weekly daytime sessions every Wednesday. They've now moved to monthly and it means we struggle to get to them as much now.

Are there plans for the Attic to open up on any/all daytimes?

Thanks - I think I'd seen those, just didn't know if they might still be the opening times for the "new" club. Seems many clubs are cutting down on daytime opening to cut costs.

Though we don't go daytimes, we believe only part of the club opens in the day.

The old venue closed the new one has been built and is being built and will be open shortly but cannot give a precise date due to final ends if red tape being tied due to it being a "new build" has to conform to the new bits and bobs for safety which since grenfell and stuff have caused huge headaches.

But we are so close now, dusting off the fmb lol

They were given notice to quit the old place by the landlord and it closed back end of last year. They have acquired another venue not far from old place but apparently have been told to do work on the property before they are allowed by council to open. It's not been made clear exactly what these works are or a specific time table for opening. Since the start of the year they keep saying "soon". This is not a criticism as the owners have no obligation to go into details. As a former visitor I do wish them well with the project and hope whatever difficulties they face are overcome soon.

Obviously these things can take time and be frustrating, but far better to make sure the venue is safe.

The hard work will soon pay off.

they are the old prices from before January.before the problems the club has faced.no prices have been mentioned for when it does reopen.i wouldn't be surprised if prices do go up as it's probably cost Ron more money then what he expected and he will want to try to recoup this.most visitors to the club probably won't mind if it's only a slight increase.

They're waiting for things to be "signed off". So I assume building control. If their local council Building Control is as busy as ours, I'm not surprised it's taking a while. We just need to be patient.

No the prices on the website are the NEW prices it was £30 for a single male on a Friday and sat night and now it's £35.

And I'm sure the single ladies and couples prices have gone up but we are still one of the lowest entry clubs locally and we done ask for membership.

And what do you mean they are the prices before January before the problems were faced?? They were always going to be the prices.

It seems a very small price increase considering the rate that everything else has gone up over the last few years. I would have expected more, especially considering the unexpected additional costs and loss of income the club suffered over the last 6 months.

Thank you to all that helped answer my questions.

It's a bit of a trek to visit especially if I don't overnight but found the club to be good as I don't visit clubs very often and most near me require membership which if you don't go very often is pointless or the membership still doesn't allow single males on a Saturday !

So once I've saved enough (unfortunately on benefits due to having chronic fatigue syndrome) I hope to try and visit again.

Ascot Drive.

Oh Great! Does that mean a lrice increase for entry?

I believe the prices are on the website.they are the old prices from before January.before the problems the club has faced.no prices have been mentioned for when it does reopen.i wouldn't be surprised if prices do go up as it's probably cost Ron more money then what he expected and he will want to try to recoup this.most visitors to the club probably won't mind if it's only a slight increase.

As per your comment on the other thread prices where discussed back in November time and have been visible on the website since yes that was November when the club was hoping to open.it 6 months later and things have changed so the question is will they still be the same prices??"

Those are the prices

I remember that feeling, the feeling that kept us from the door for a long time.

I can tell you now, that feeling is gone within 2 minutes of walking in. It’s crazy that that we waste so much of our time worrying about things that are not true or never happen.

You are missing out massively, when you do finally go you will beat yourself up for worrying and wishing g you went sooner. It’s no different than going down the pub!

When it's speculation and you know it's incorrect, this is the first of many post from same user who has a tendancy to repeat himself.

And calling people names, well I haven't resorted to that.....

As people and other staff and helpers have stated already numerous times.

When people post non factual information it needs correcting

So there are no updates yet as we are still awaiting final inspection to be given the go ahead to open, the building work has been finished formusnto open the 1st phase of the club.

We don't have a opening date yet and there is no point giving one as if that comes and goes then people will have been let down and could be out of pocket financially with cancelled hotel amd childminder costs.

We will definitely be putting the opening date on the website, social media and on the FAB forum when we have a concrete date and it could be short notice.

I understand people want to know and we would love to be open now.

I would also say look at the website for other information regarding the club ie opening times (which haven't changed), prices (which have changed and are going to remain the prices for opening) and dress code etc

If you have any constructive questions I will be happy to answer them if I can.

The dungeon equipment is still the same but has been repaired where needed. Its only some the building materials we couldn't reuse.

With regards to school room and mini spanking room (mini Dungeon) you will just have to wait and see if your favourites have been replicated.

Totally new, very different set up to the old place, everyone been grafting to get it done (OK me not so much lately as been unwell, but was un the start, but other half and chums there everyday).

I can promise you this we don't mean to sound stress etc but major time from many been spent on this project, all around everyday life, so when we may come across a bit, what's the word, annoyed or exasperated at times, it's because it's had a huge impact on many of the helpers lifestyles who have given up so much time.

It's been made more difficult as technically a new build, it cannot just be chucked together, every inch of material used has to be of specific spec, and all the new regulations coming in of late, has made it 10 x harder than it would have a few years ago, h and s is a nightmare, but it's all been done correctly, hence the delay, so when we come across a bit stressed, or not able to give dates etc, know there is nothing we all want more than to be open, but will deffo be worth the wait.

Thank you for the suggestion, but we aren't putting new photos up until after the opening party, this decision was taken so it didn't spoil the surprises and what we had done with the place.

Once opening night has happened we will be putting new.photos up on the website.

I don’t think it’s fit for the new, modern club.

We were hoping Bank Holiday weekend. They had an update saying all work in stage one is finished and a final inspection date was agreed. They hoped to open mid May, heard nothing since. We know how frustrating it is for all the people who have worked so hard but would be good to hear what the outcome of that final inspection was, maybe we should move our hotel again to June??

I imagine so I’ve been going 10yrs and it’s always been on, can’t imagine a change of venue would make any difference
