"Good morning all.I was thinking of going to eureka today just wanted to know if it would be worth my while or are there better alternatives thanks"

It's not worth going to eureka on anything other than a sunny day due to most of their facilities not working. It's good for sunbathing and that's about it. If you want sauna, steam, pool and jacuzzi you're better off at Silverleigh just down the road.

"Positive post incoming lol"

I went to eureka Saturday night. There pool is seasonal being outdoor but the sauna and hottubs are working I believe they are replacing the steam room with something new and after speaking with the staff as heard alot of negative things on here about the place. But as of late I have seen alot of people mentioning it so jumped in at the deep end and wasn't disappointed. Was a nice evening with plenty of people and alot of newbies too no clickyness like other places and everyone was very friendly and made effort for a single guy to be involved. And I believe there is a revamp/updating happening soon. The summer looks very promising as its More of a resort feel than just a club

Good to know, the hot tubs are usable but there are no jets as the control panels are broken, you just have the circulation bubbles so they're more like hot baths at the moment. It would be great if there is a revamp, it has a lot of potential. However it does surprise me that any investment is going to be made when the site has got planning permission to be demolished and replaced with houses.

Hope something does happen to make it great, we don't have enough in Kent as it is, especially with the future of Silverleigh being uncertain too.

Yeah lady from what I heard out in the smoking area ( a few of the regulars ) there lease has been extended for another 15 years. planning doesn't mean anything it just makes the value of the land higher. And yeah it was mentioned that they have read comments etc and are now listening to what people want which is great. Personally I thought it was okay it's clean and the vibe was good . Drinks where fairly priced etc

Such a shame that Eureka doesn’t sound likely to continue, an afternoon there in the sun is one of the best things we’ve ever done. Was good to see your recommendation for Silverleigh but didn’t realise that was threatened too

I'll be back there in the summer as it can't be beaten on hot sunny days. Fingers crossed everything is working by then.

Now that energy prices have settled down, lets hope they heat the pool this summer.

A lot of investment needs to be made to bring this place back up to scratch.

Both hottubs needs replacing.

New Steamroom and the Sauna needs new wood after years and years of sweat.

Does the clubhouse really need so much space devoted to a dance floor? Given the space I'd have lots of different play areas and also extend play areas outside, i.e. some old cars for dogging play, swings, tents, etc

Unfortunately, whenever the subject of the planning permission comes up, despite promises of a forthcoming statement, nobody actually from the club has been on to provide any information, nor has anything been posted on the clubs website, which is why so many people are finding alternative venues as, despite what YOU'RE saying, it's future remaibs in doubt

Dj good point you have there but the way I see it is planning permission is just to make the land worth more money my parents have had planning permission for party of there land for 8 years, and its been 2 years since eureka had there planning permission and its still there and if anything getting busier and better from what I hear . Any business can close with a click of the fingers that's how the world operates unfortunately. But I'm not here to judge as I am still new to the whole club scene

The dance floor used to be packed every Friday and Saturday.

What are the figures for a Friday party and a Saturday party. Last time we went was about 2 years ago and it was dead 10 people there on a Friday night.

We would love to start coming back.

Oh not that one again, that’s getting boring, of course they are not going to state it’s a swingers club, we would never go if they did, as the press would be all over the place. Same reason John always states the same about Silverleighs

If any licenced/registered club in the uk stated that sex happens at there clubs they would get closed down.

I think people should just stop listening to the whistle-blowers and haters who wish to constantly put the resort down.

It's a naturist resort which holds party nights for swingers and people alike.

Eureka is very alive and kicking with no view of closing down on the horizon. yes they have quiet nights and busy nights like anywhere u go.

If you don't like the place just scroll on and don't comment its not that hard rather than trying to put your 2 pence in lol.

2nd of march is a charity night why not come along and see for yourselves rather than speculating

Reviews are welcomed I guess but the way I see it is what may not be good for 1 person may be good for another person and I feel of you haven't been there in the last 6 months then reviews would be irrelevant as alot of changes have happened are are ongoing.the owner is obviously trying he's hardest now to take full potential of the venue and listening to people. The team there are great and I have high hopes for them that they can make eurekas the venue which it once was.. and it's not just fab that they cater for there are many other sites holding club nights and organising events forbthe summer so things are looking up. Like I said previously I've been to a few clubs eureka just feels right and had everything in 1 place where others don't it just needs a lick of paint and other things doing and that is coming

Some people just can't be pleased , oh well we move on im not losing out and they obviously haven't been there to see some of the changes already done. To be fair I think people with a negative attitude wouldn't be welcomed anyway. Roll on the summer I say

Asked a couple of weeks ago on this post.

How many people are there on Fridays?

How many people are there on Saturdays?

The most recent nights you have been to.

We would love to rejoin. But not if there are only a few people there.

Someone said “why is dance floor so big?”

Because it was packed (4 years ago)

I just want to know if it’s worth rejoining.

Please don’t say come and find out. We did a few months ago and 15 people on a Friday night did not impress us.

It's swings and roundabouts the next big night is the 2nd of March which is a charity night which they are saying is going to be the biggest night this year so far. Obviously in the summer it is busier and I believe they are going to be doing special offers etc. I've attended a few times over the last few months and Friday nights seem to be quieter than Saturday nights. Check the calendar usually cats away. And ma parties are busier than others. But there will be a few special events happening throughout the warmer months

I thought this was a rather simple question.

Yes I know some nights will be more than others.

Yes I know there are special party nights.

We just want to know how many people were there the last time anyone went on a Friday and or Saturday.

That's a shame, but last time we went it wasn't much busier tbh.

I guess that's why the 'promoters' are so vague when asked about how busy it is and what improvements are being made.

No doubt someone will jump on and say I'm being negative and I should come to experience it.

The problem is, like someone else has said I am loathed to part with my hard earned money and scarce spare time for a wasted night out.

Unfortunately it looks like the chicken and egg question. What came first, the crowds of people, or the great night out?

Hopefully we will have a great and hot summer as a day out in the sun is what really sells the place.

If they did a few things like fixing the hot tubs, refresh the sauna and get the steam room working, they'd get my weekend cash, instead it goes to Silverleigh, its future being in doubt as well.

Maybe open the old couples room during the day as the dance area is not exactly a warm and inviting area in the winter to sit chat.

We used to go Friday night to Sunday evening. Rent a cabin for two nights. Total cost of enjoying an almost spa location £120 including food and drink.

We would be there almost every weekend.

Fridays always quieter with 50-75 people.

Then Saturdays with 100-150 people. You had to book a seat if you wanted to be sure of being able to sit down.

Are there any day time naturists on here? We found INVICTA SUN CLUB to be an excellent naturist location. £120 a year membership for couples. £11.50 cabin hire PER NIGHT (3 available). Should stress though absolutely no sex or swinging.

"Was the help for heroes charity night well attended? "

I'd like to know this too. Obviously the promoters will say it was a great night but my friend who had an event there last weekend said that only 3 people turned up. Interested to know what the numbers were last night as I could be persuaded to go if it's worth it.

It was well attended as said in another thread about 60/70 people possibly more attended all cabins bar 1 were booked. The problem is not alot of people who are organising or attending nights are spreading the word so are dissapointed when they go and nobody shows . U wouldnt organise a birthday party with no invites would you lmao..think abit of structure is needed and also a helping hand from the community in general. It was a great night and did feel like the old days

Used the facilities and got involved. The mix of singles n couples was great there wasn't a wanking corner as incall it everyone was just on a level

That's a shame, her January night was pretty good.

But you weren't there for the "good old days" were you? You and your missus are relatively new to the place. I wasn't there for the "good old days" either but I have heard they were stuff of legend. In order to get back to what it was, the place needs fixing, the hot tubs need fixing, the sauna needs fixing, the staff need an attitude implant. I'm not knocking the place as I only discovered it last year during the summer. I paid to be a member and went several times, however each time I went it was utterly dead and I pretty much had the place to myself. I very quickly learned to avoid the staff as they were rude and gave me the impression they didn't give a flying fuck.

I'm actually hoping the place gets back to what I've heard it used to be, particularly as Silverleigh won't be around much longer so Eureka will be the only place left in Kent. I'm happy to be pleasantly surprised at a miraculous revival of the current shit hole it has become, but I'm not holding my breath.

Actually, if you read my previous posts on this thread, and my most recent one, you'll find that there is no "bitterness" at all. I'm actually willing the place to survive. It's a great location, it can't be beaten in the summer sunshine, but it is being held back by broken facilities and rude staff, both of which are an easy fix. Hoe about you stop jumping down people's throats when they make accurate comments about the place and instead pass on the constructive criticism to the owners to ensure the place makes the changes it needs to survive and thrive.

The very elderly owner is in poor health and unfortunately when he passes, the licence to run it as a naturist spa ceases. The place will be closed and is being sold for development once John is no longer with us. Let's hope he's got many many years left as he's a wonderful man. He's 86 and still enjoying his daily swim and playing in his band every Monday evening.

I'm not jumping down anyone's throat . The facilities are working the steam room is being changed into something else. And I along with others have no issues with the staff and nobody apart from yourself has mentioned this I find them very friendly and welcoming . Maybe when u attend in the summer say something ...

We first went to Eureka 30 years ago when Mark was the owner. We will never set foot in the place again.

That’s purely because of the disgraceful way the staff have treated their customers in recent years.

The people managing it today were part of the previous management team.

They have run the place into the ground.

I first attended eureka in 2003, over 20 years ago. I went to more party weekends than I care to remember, I had a permanent caravan on site so I could stay whenever I wanted, it was my home from home. The parties were legendary, over 200 people ever Saturday night and in the summer that could be 300. Weekends started on Friday and ended late on Sunday evening, it was amazing. What made it was the attitude of the guy that ran it, he made you feel welcome, it was just one big happy hedonistic family who came together to stick 2 fingers up to the world and live there best lives and have as much fun as possible, then he died and it all changed. Greedy self centred people took over and the attitude and approach whet through the floor, other things also happened but they can't be mentioned here, and its got worst and it hasn't improved. Yes it costs money to run these places, I run my own business and am fully aware of costs and expenditure. What's been forgotten and lost at eureka is the attitude, the secret to running a successful club is to make people feel safe, happy and fun, so they forget about the cost and just want to enjoy themselves. My opinion is that eureka has gone to far down the wrong path and the damage to its reputation is irreparable, no one really believes that the planning permission is just fake news. I know every inch of that club and I will miss it everyday but I have the memories and they will do for me.

DalEssex said himself that he is new to the club scene in this very thread, and you said you've been going for months lol.

The good old days meant the dance floor was rammed, all the tables were reserved, the hot tubs had working jets, the sauna was hot as were the showers. And regulars went week in week out.

As many people in many threads have mentioned, it's not the same under the current team. I have no allegiances or axe to grind, but I'm just saying how I see it.

Communication from the owners is poor to non existent. Other than the third party promoters we see very little.

Why don't they come out and state categorically that the lease has been extended? Or that they have fixed X,Y or Z. Or that the steam room will be a ??????..

Why are the owners not active on here, surely the home of much of their target audience?

Why is their website so dire and in need of improving?

It seems quite obvious to me. Because its all smoke and mirrors. The party promoters are selling the party nights and coming out with the positive statements about improvements being made, but reality is different.

And Dal, no one spends significant money on planning permission if they don't intend to make use of it.

And yes, we have been in the good old days, and the not so good current days before anyone says we don't know what we are talking about.

And if we get a decent summer, we may well be back to enjoy the grounds.

Now that spring is on the way, this is surely the time for an increase in visitors.

However the driveway needs urgent attention after a diabolical winter of pothole producing rain.

When the planning permission story became public knowledge, it was said that "The (site owners) will start by building a nice new road...".

Please can they do that in time forsummer?

It was only last autumn that people were told that the road had been sorted out, that's obviously not true.

The road was sorted out twice, during the autumn and again more recently. however the rain damage has been unprecedented.

The condition of the driveway needs constant preventive maintenance, otherwise people will be put off risking their suspension.

The (Eureka) owner and staff have to use it, so they are equally affected by its condition.

I fail to see how voicing an opinion makes you a "hater". Using such language offers very little to a discussion.
