I really fancy going to a club but not sure if I could do it alone? How do you get over your nerves?

at first it’s scary etc but i’ve met my close friends just from going alone. it shows your independent and open to new situations etc. x

I picked a club I was already familiar with, did my research for a night that would be a little quieter and just went for it. Looked at the forum, spoke to afew people in the guestlist so I wasn't just walking in with nothing at all, meant there was an icebreaker when striking conversation.

Had a fantastic night and wouldn't worry going solo again

Old Harlow Essex

I started going to a club on my own , same as everyone wasn’t sure what to expect , even after doing loads of research . However best thing I done ,safer than going to a normal club on my own . Found being on my own I could explore easily with out needing to worry about anyone else , discovered new things and felt at ease it’s supposed to be fun which it was and still is

I've done loads of clubs on my own. Usually pop a post on the forum, see if anyone is doing pre-drinks etc.

Mr here. I started off going to clubs as a single male (before I meet Mrs Misfit on the scene). I'm a bit of a Misfit, that I would call (for various reasons) socially challenged with strngers, despite how well I attempt to mask it. So naturally behind the mask is a ton of social anxiety, especially in unfamiliar and vulnerable situations.

However you never get anywhere if you don't go there? What use is skill if you don't make it to the dance? The best way to do a thing is to do it.

OK, I'll stop throwing sayings at you. My point is the club and party environment is a great environment. It's nerve-racking for everyone and for some it's really scary. However, whatever your level of nerves nothing changes unless you do something. I can't tell you how to get over your nerves. I believe it's just something you have to do despite your nerves. If you're anyrhing like me you'll find it hard, very hard. However hopefully like me you'll also find it rewarding, fun and never look back.

So my only advice is do your research, find what club work for you just GO!

Also don't be afraid to contact a club for more information or to get a feel for the place. All clubs are different. I find the more information I know about a new club in advance the calmer and more prepared I am.

Club life is a great life, don't be held back by your own barriers.

I started going to a club in the daytime and started taking to a few folk.. now I go party nights etc..

It’s like anything I guess, that first step is the most nerve wracking - then once you’ve done it it’ll be easier thereonin..

However make sure you let the staff know, they can keep their eye on you then.

I'm feeling inspired! Have a couple events coming up at xtasia. I've been there before (and many other kink events) but haven't been to swinging events really.

Find a club/event you like, see if there’s any chats going on that you can be added to to get to know others before hand, have found that has helped.

Failing that just go and wing it with a brave face

I'd suggest going to the club that you've been to with others as you know the layout and what to expect. It's nerve wracking, but everyone is in the same boat. Contact the club beforehand and explain that you will be alone and are anxious. They'll get someone to keep you company initially.

Look at the events thread and if there's something that appeals, get in touch with other people going and chat before hand.

I find that if I pretend I feel confident and relaxed, just get a drink and sit and chat to the barstaff, once I've done the first 10 or 20 minutes then I'm fine.

Be brave and just do it.

Not been on fab long , would love to go to a club or social event . But it's being on your own , as a single guy and not an idiot like there are on here , I feel like your not wanted . There's so meny and rude and pushy the usual stuff. I just see me at a bar with no where to go and would be able afford drinks at todays prices lol.

Why could you never go alone? It really is the best way to meet fellow swingers.. far better than trying to meet folk on here IMHO.
