OK, so after a recent visit to Amsterdam we thought we'd share with you how we found found Fata-Morgana. And also after chatting to quite a few Dutch Swingers, a bit of inside info on the alternatives if you fancy trying some others while you're there.

Okay, so first Fata. It really lived up to its reputation! Gorgeous people everywhere.. And if you like tall men or women then you are going to really love this place!

It's a really cool club - stylish and lit in gorgeous colours. Lots of sexy play spaces upstairs in various rooms including a 3rd floor attic space. There are several good sized chill out areas with comfy sofas, one with an open fire (well a gas or alcohol one but still rather gorgeous to play in front of)

The dancefloor was brilliant, packed all night, and the DJ was playing decent tunes. It was kind of where all the flirting happened - there, and on the cream leather beds all around it. And then people would peel off to go to

playrooms.

We even squeezed through the dark room with our new friends who took us on a tour of the whole place. That was an experience, it was so tightly packed and absolutely pitch black!

Saturday is generally busier than Fridays and you will find mostly Dutch clientele, with one or two English & French couples there on the night we went. We got chatting to two or three Dutch couples. They're all really friendly, especially if you explain you are part of the scene in UK and not just there as tourists to have a perv. And of course, most speak perfect English so there's no language barrier.

There is a very nice buffet available all evening, so you can eat before or after you've had some fun (not sure about during!)

Food & Drinks are free / included in the ticket price and the bar staff are really cool and super friendly and attentive. The place is immaculately clean too with glasses cleared regularly throughout the night.

Couples. 130 euros on a Friday, 150 on a Saturday and you can buy them either on the night or fro their website if you want to avoid disappointment in case they're full.

Ladies get in for half that. No single males allowed.

Opens at 9. Most are in by 10ish. Dress down by 11. Closes at 4.

Personally we're not a fan of the dress down thing.. Mr had to Dutch his velvet swinging jacket but at least it's warm and most of the men are just in boxers or maybe a Tshirt too. Remember to bring Light footwear. Flip flops or beach shoes where quite popular.

Getting there..

It's about 20 minute drive from Amsterdam. If you're traveling by tax from the Dam, everyone says use Uber. We got really stung just hailing a taxi from outside the Grasshopper. Nearly 75 euros. An Uber would have been 30ish? Oh well. Lesson learned.

There are Taxis outside fata to go home and that was around 40 euros at 4am. Everyone else was using Uber or travelled for much closer to the club. One bit of advice we saw on another post was:

"Train to Weesp and then a taxi there. Get an uber back to the city - that was about €30"

If we think of anything else we'll add it as we think of it. Will also share details of a couple of other clubs you might want to look at while you're out there. We could only manage the one night but we got lots of good tips and inside advice from the locals

Other clubs..

First up, we joined another site which is very popular on the continent. I like to chat and connect with a few people before visiting a club. Mrs E prefers to turn up and wing it. Either way, chatting to some local Swingers we found out a little about the alternatives, if you fancy partying more than just one night

Hopefully you know the site I mean. It's a three letter acronym. Very good when you're abroad. Fab better for the UK.

In Amsterdam you have lots of small of sex clubs (kind of) but the main ones are:

Club Paridise: Looks amazing. Mixed on Fridays. Couples night Saturday (not sure if it's every Saturday?)

Showboat: Also looks amazing but mixed and a bit of a "Sausage Fest" apparently.

Sameplace: More a bar with a play area apparently. Also a bit single guy heavy but apparently OK. We nearly went there but decided to save ourselves.

This from a couple we chatted to sums it up..

"Showboat is not our fave, they also allow single guys and there is a lot of prowling going on.

Fata is good most of the times (and only couples) But the dancing in paradise is better (the music in the Fata is very 90s

The same weekend we went there was a big event on called Wasteland. It looked amazing.. Similar to Torture Garden.. Strict fancy dress code with the threat of being turned away if you don't try hard enough. Looks quite fetty and very dancey! And shed loads of people going. Several hundred.

Rotterdam has Fun4Two just outside. Apparently it very much rivals Fata and is fab but.. The locals told us they're selective so if you're not young and shiney, you may not get in!

We are going 5th January and have only been to sameplace which we quite enjoyed as it was pvc night which we love going to try fata morgana and thanks for the great insight everyone xx

We really liked sameplace albeit was our first time ever in a swingers club and found it evenly supported by couples and singles although we do enjoy a 3some with single guys

I’ve visited Sameplace as a couple and a single guy, the owners typically limit single guy numbers and it’s often regulars; I’ve never seen it top heavy with single guys or experienced the wanking dead so typical of UK clubs.

The vibe is chilled, lots of play but as always depends on who is in. Eclectic mix is how I’d describe the crowd.

Fata is exactly as described, another level in every aspect, it’s absolutely the real deal.

We got the train to Weesp and then walked the rest of the way, but that was in the summer. There were a couple of taxis parked in front of the station though. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem getting an Uber.
