Visiting Your Local Club

We tend to travel to go to clubs, partly because it’s nice to visit another town/city during the day and partly to avoid anyone we may know.

This year we have attended Attic, Xstasia, ClubF and Hellfire.

But our local club the Annex does put on a couple of kink nights which would suit us entirely, but due to proximity we choose not to go.

Should we throw caution to the wind and just go?

The people attending the events are people who share the same interest.

I was at an event a few weeks back and acouplehad just seen a teacher from her daughters school. Their thoughts were we are all consenting adult who share the same interests.

I would go personally,

We are in a similar dynamic, but I do think we should live the life we want, opinions of others shouldn't affect the way we live our life's... there's no harm in what we do and we should celebrate the way of life we want.. we couldn't care less of what others get upto.. we just want an adventure xx

If we had a local club (nearest is 50+ miles away) we would try it, so yes go for it, what have you got to lose?

Just go for it , wife was the same with the club we attend , not bumped into anyone we know , by luck more than anything else as knowing some of there profiles showing they have attended , we have been quite a few times , but as they are doing the same as us , no point worrying. , I more worried with singles than couples , but since have bumped into a few outside the club , and they have been as descrete as us

We go to our local club but we don’t really care about being “outed” or judged.

Anyone we meet there is doing the same thing presumably

We’ve met a few people we know and seen others outside of clubs and it’s always been very discretely handled.

Didn’t recognise you with your clothes on aside!

A big problem is that most people think like you, us too.

Everyone scared of going to our local club so off we travel to a different area, feeling safer with each passing mile.

But so does everyone else and you all bump into each other, safer to go local if you don't want to bump into your Nan or window cleaner

Due to us living separately and having families we have found it easier to attend our local club, Purple Mamba, as it is a reasonable distance for both of us.

We are hoping to try other clubs in the future but if we met someone we knew we would hope we could all be grown up enough to be discreet about it - we're all there for the same reason.

We used to avoid our local club for fear of meeting someone we knew there and travelled to other clubs instead. Three years on and we simply don’t care and are regulars at our local club. Each to their own but I do feel people can sometimes be a little paranoid… unless of course you’re doing something behind your partner's back… we attend and play as a couple every time so don’t have any issues

Ahh it’s not to avoid embarrassment or being outed. As others have said everyone there for same reasons.

However I think we would be more concerned about upsetting someone who thought because we were at the club and know them, there may be awkwardness if one couple wants to play and the other doesn’t.

I know in a normal club with a stranger it would be totally fine and you wouldn’t think of it twice, but someone you know would be more difficult.

I don’t know, maybe we are overthinking it.

Imagine going into a supermarket and discovering, shock, horror, that some one you recognise also buys food!

We have a club within walking distance. And yet haven't really bumped into anyone we've known (from the vanilla world) in there. Now is a different situation because we've got to know a fair few who go. So now we quite often we bump into people we know from the club in town or at the shops. To be fair it's not a problem, we normally say hello.

To be fair distance is no guarantee. We meet a couple at a venue a huge distance away. Turns out they were localish and the guy occasionally comes to Mrs work. They both didn't know this until he turn up there one day and they were like do we know each other. They had a laugh about it and that was it.

So I know people like to be discreet for various reasons. But personally we've never encountered a problem locally and having somewhere local is very convenient. Plus we all kind of make a journey to the good big clubs out there so there's a fair chance if your going to bump into people you know it could be anywhere (after all many likewise don't go to local clubs).

My closest club is 2 hours away.

I’ve bumped into 5 people I know at different clubs- all more than 2 hours away from me.

If everyone has the same opinion to travel you all end up at the same place anyway

I’d much rather see someone I know in a club than on fab. You’ve both made the same effort to go x

I feel you pain, I live close proximity to a number of clubs and I avoid them due to being a little too close for my liking. Despite that I do visit one for a special Fet event when hosted, it's worth it.

Oh, yes, the thought that it may make them feel that their relationship with you as friends/work colleagues is worth less because you don't want to have sex with them. Hopefully they can be mature adults about that.

How would you feel if they said no to you?
