It would be nice to hear from some club owners or managers on this subject.

An example of a club dress code:

Dress Code is strictly enforced, No Tracksuits, No Hooddies, No torn jeans, No hats, No caps, smart casual , you are out for the day/evening please dress accordingly.

However, recent club visits in supposed party nights, erotic nights have included people wearing sports shorts and trainers, jogging bottoms and trainers, we have even see one guy look as though he has just come straight off a job at a building site.

We like to think we make an effort on a club visit to dress accordingly in order to try and make it a sexy environment for all.

So why are clubs allowing people to enter when they are clearly not dressing accordingly?

A club we visited last night for a party night felt like a dodgy social club with both staff and guests vaping and dressed in sports shorts and trainers.

Why can’t clubs enforce dress codes and try and ensure a sexy environment for all and turn away those that do not dress accordingly?

The only clubs I have been to have been good with their policies, though I mainly go to dress down places. That said, they do enforce the dress down with people who are fully dressed asked to comply or leave

I've not been to heaps of places however so I don't know what experiences others have had or whether you've just been unlucky. That said, nightclubs used to have the same smart or smart casual code and now jeans and trainers are apparently fine so maybe it is unfortunately indicative of society as a whole.

Jeans and smart trainers I can live with, but adidas sports shorts and black trainers on an erotic party night? Or jogging bottoms and trainers? Vaping?

These clubs are supposed to be creating an erotic party atmosphere but creating a cheap social club which only attracts those people which enjoy such an environment.

Create a sexy party atmosphere that everyone can enjoy.

The men pay ££££ for a sniff of pussy, so they can wear what they want. Clubs won't turn them away as they will lose ££££.

Agreed that guys should adhere to the dress code and take pride in their appearance and personal hygiene particularly if they are hoping to have a fun filled night. In our experience the gents are usually very well turned out.

But, if “sex sells” and it’s the guys who pay top dollar to get in, I’m sure they would like some sexy eye candy to get them excited.

We always make a great deal of effort when we visit clubs. Sometimes we feel we have “overdone it”. I (Mr) always smart, clean and well presented, despite the fact I don’t play, and my wife always dressed to please (in outfits nsfw) to attract the attention we go for. There are sometimes several other ladies/couples with the same attitude, but then there are also those who appear to make little effort given the venue they are attending.

Let’s be honest, there is nothing less sexy than a lady in a club looking like she just popped in on her way home from Asda (other supermarkets apply)!

My point is, it’s not just the guys.

We’ve seen our local club turn people away on a number of occasions for not meeting a suitable dress standard.

Also depends on which night we go as well as to how people have been dressed. If we go on a Thursday night it’s more for play as it’s not open as late so definitely has a much more casual atmosphere however if we go on a weekend we will dress like we would for a night out and put in the effort as there’s a lot more social before dressing down.

I think some places definitely have moved with the times though because smart jeans or cargo style pants and smart trainers we don’t personally see as an issue. Sports clothing or work gears a bit of an insult though when you’ve made an effort

Definitely seen an increase in trainers, although the lines and views of what is smart is now very blurry. It differs to everyone. There is surely a line though and being well dressed and having good personal hygine is the minimum we should all expect.

Interesting conversation...

When I go to a club, I prefer to wear a smart shirt, a pair of shoes and smart jeans. Regardless in everyday life, I dress more "sports" style.

So, in general, I agree that people should try to make an effort when going to clubs, mainly for the sake of their own success, but not to meet other's expectations.

If I want to be brutally honest, I would still prefer a club with a crowd of sexy and attractive girls who dressed just as "if they came from Asda", rather than ladies whom I can't find sexually attractive, even if they dressed for the Royal Opera...

So... as long as that outfit (and the body underneath) is clean and smells good, I think we should not judge and filter people by the choice of their clothing style. Otherwise, it's only one step forward to filter guests by their body type - which is, let's be honest, matters more, as in an ideal scenario, clothes will get off at one point of the night, and the real party only starts then!

I don't think anyone cares how much you paid for your clothing. However, I also don't think cargo pants are ever "smart", whether they cost £3 or £3 million.

to be fair, I must have checked out on Google what are "cargo trousers" at all, as I had no idea... Am I a boomer???

But yeah, the truth is, fashion is changing and what some of us would consider as stylish outfits for a night out, that's not the only way anymore. So, don't be a boomer, be "inclusive" as the woke would say, lol!

Someone mentioned above that guys can wear anything they want coz of the £££ they pay at the door. My experience is the opposite, I have seen single men get turned down, coz of their outfits, but only if they are on their own. If they come with a hot chick, the worst tracksuit will be smart enough.

But again, I won't complain, rather be at a party with a bunch of "poorly dressed" (hygiene is a must no compromise there!!!!) girls, than somewhere I feel myself in the local Wetherspoons, even if all dressed for a wedding!

I hate guys in jeans with shoes. Just looks old fashioned and mismatched, reminds me of my Dad so I'd personally give any guy dressed like that a miss because I don't find it attractive. I prefer jeans with smart and clean trainers, especially white trainers.

Sports attire like shorts, meh, it's alright on summer themed nights but any other night probably not. For "work clothes", again, suppose that depends on the job itself we wanted to be awkward.

I'd never be offended though. If I found a club was allowing people in that I don't think I'm compatible with and it was becoming a problem for me, I'd just opt for a different club

How true it is, and thanks for the feedback, even if you described me as "your Dad", lol!

In everyday life I wear my jeans with trainers, I used my shoes in the past 2 years pretty much for swinger clubs only, for the very reason why they usually don't allow trainers. So they "force me" to dress like a boomer, hahaha!

recently I travelled around Spain, and visited clubs in GC and Palma in shorts in trainers, but over it is different. To be fair it could be better to be a bit more liberated in clothing here too, as far as it's clean.
