My question to any club owners on here is why do you have a dress down policy? Most people I’m sure would rather stay dressed until they get down to business.

Having to dress down takes away the frill of seeing what’s underneath that lovely dress or shirt, taking the clothes off your new partner…. The excitement !

Some people if not most in the lifestyle may have body image issues so would prefer to pop a nice dress on instead of walking around practically naked. I know most single men wouldn’t mind the dress down rule so they can have a good old perv. But in this day and age is it actually necessary for a club to dictate that you must take your clothes off to enter the club or indeed a certain area of a club. I would be interested to see the results from a pole

Most clubs I've been to only have a rule in play areas. There's nothing more off putting than being watched by someone fully clothed.

Our local club certainly doesn't enforce anything unreasonable. The basic seems to be, if it's suitable to wear outside in public, it's not suitable to wear in the play areas.

Dress down tends to be a Northern thing

The majority of clubs South of Brum, tend to be non dress down (except those which are spa themed venues)

We specifically avoid dress down clubs, as we believe in dressing to impress.

The Attic (our favourite club) has NO dress down rule at all. Club Play and Infusion (Blackpool) are both dress down in play areas only.

Our preference is dress down in play areas.

I think for those that want to dip their toes and stay clothed, great do it in the bar, but be prepared to see people dressed down, and possibly playing.

Play areas should be 100% dressed down. We loved being watched but find it off putting when people sat clothes and watching

Even though we have body issues, we prefer the dress down club as we find it easier to play

When we go out , we dress to impress

Whilst we are definitely not shy , we wonder why we go to all the effort , just in effect to hand over our money and get a towel so to speak

We once went to a dress down on entry club

Someone walked in behind us in there what can only be called their scruffs

Got changed next to us , and 2 mins later were trying there luck with us at the bar

For us its dress to impress and dress down before going into the play areas

There are all sorts of nights you can go to

But is there a dress down club that does a stay dressed in the lounge area night ?

Whilst most are ok to go with the flow , you can argue that the new people that are going to keep a club in business may be feeling put under pressure as soon as they walk in the door

Always found the opposite to be true. No dress down (like a particular club in the Midlands) means fully dressed guys wandering around perving all night! The dress down code in clubs we've visited means you're in an area of the club with people at the same comfort level as yourself.

Completely agree with this. Before we started going to Chams I wouldn't even go bare chest on a beach. Now I don't care at all. I'm way more confident than I ever have been.

Completely agree with this. Before we started going to Chams I wouldn't even go bare chest on a beach. Now I don't care at all. I'm way more confident than I ever have been.

That's nasty. I would never intentionally go to a club where you were allowed to be in the play areas in outdoor clothes.

Personally i like the dress down concept. It puts my mind in the right frame for sexual activity. I enjoy the effort of finding nice lingerie to wear and don't feel so unattractive as there are other women about with full figures dressed in great negligee. Clubs where i can stay fully dressed - its just like going to a normal vanilla club for me. As others have said i dont like the idea of fully dressed people wandering into play areas just to look.

TH club, Wirral is exactly that. The lounge and bar are not compulsory dress down. So new people, or anyone that prefers to stay dressed, can do just that. The only place that is compulsory dressdown are the playrooms so you don't have fully dressed peeps watching play.

I think there's a couple of early dress down nights but most are ok to start dressed in the lounge and bar. Xxx

I guess the thinking behind it is that it helps stop the people that come in to gawk.

I know one fetish club in London used to give anyone that tried to get in in street clothes (empty handed) a dustbin bag to wear. Street clothes off, dustbin bag on or you don't come in.

Well just like you prefer to dress up, others prefer to dress down. That's why there are clubs that cater to each taste. Not everyone is the same nor wants the same things

Personally, I don't enjoy nightclub or dress up style clubs, I go to a club to relax and have fun - dressing up is neither of those things for me at all, it's actually something I find stressful. When I go to a club, I prefer to be naked.

I like both dress down and dress up clubs, they provide a different experience and so both have their places in my opinion.

Sometimes it is great to dress to impress, and it is definitely easier to dance dressed up than barefoot in a towel!

On the other side seeing everyone dressed down is a great equaliser and shows what variation in bodies we all have. Plus the lack of need to get dressed again after play and go grab a shower is good.

At Decadance we only ask you to dress down when playing or watching. Other than that you can stay dressed as long as you like.

Or dress down policy is exactly that. Dress down if 0jaying or watching. But you can be dressed in the bar area all night if you wish. Or naked it's totally up to the individual.

We both dress smart to travel to our local club, but when I’m there happy to walk around in my boxers and with my dad bod on show. When it comes to her, I love her wearing some outfit or lingerie that makes me excited and I love hearing compliments about her when we are there. Dress down sets the right atmosphere for us, it’s whatever you comfortable with isn’t it?

We go to a mix of dress up and dress down clubs and there are benefits to both.

At the dress up clubs it's great to see Mrs dressed up and being being chatted up. She loves the attention! It feels more like a night out. We'd usually wear clothes that are easy to take off and put back on again.

The spa based ones makes more sense to dress down. You don't want to use the hot tub, sauna, steam room and then get all dressed up again. Also if you move from various play areas in succession it's easier to just dress down.

Even in a dress down, certainly the one's we've been to, the ladies dress as sexy as they want to. Dress down can mean what you want it to mean. It could be a bit shorter than you'd normally wear or a slightly see through it doesn't have to mean taking all your clothes off.

We enjoy both types even though they are totally opposite. The variety really helps to keep things interesting.

We're hoping to go to a naked evening at a club soon and that will be dress down; literally!
