Opening a club that is, I guess its not something you can go to the bank and get a business loan ? are those that open these venues just cash rich with money to burn ? do you get investors ?

Its something that has puzzled me for a while and I'm just wondering the ins and outs of it (licencing, not having the local council shut it down etc.)

Hmmm now should i say its a total pain in the arse dont do it (in order to stop other clubs opening)

Or should i say that it depends what type of club you are considering opening i.e. a house with music and play rooms, a wet area, food offered, bar etc Depending on those answers the rules are massively different.

For example if you serve hot drinks after 11pm you need a licence, likewise if you serve hot snacks/food. If you play music that is key to the business then you need a licence and you also need one if you will be having people dancing and if you broadcast music you also need to pay PRS.

Onto the legalities of running a club then the first myth to dispel is that call it a private club you can do what you like, you cant, and also that if you say you only want contributions and dont charge a fee then you dont need to register as a business, you do lol

If you have any more questions ask away....although i may start to charge lol
