When Abfab's post about this event landed in my inbox, I was intrigued. The Old Kestrels had an excellent fetish night "HDZ" with an experienced Domme and Dom and a Dungeon Mistress. I was hoping it would be like that and text Kestrels to get an idea of the event. The response lead me to believe it was more swinger kink than BDSM Kink. Given that Fridays are normally for people who like single men for sex (nothing wrong with that), there would likely be disruption from a horde mainly hoping that kink/nudity would lead to sex, or people who are good old-fashioned sexual exhibitionists.

These are all good things but not when trying when using the dungeon to have a connected (but not sexual) erotic BDSM scene. A fair number of people dont understand dungeon etiquette. As my friend is new to playing in public we went on the next day on the Saturday and largely had the dungeon to ourselves for 3 hours, and mainly uninterrupted, apart from one woman went to touch my toys more from ignorance than malice.

So, unless I hear different, not a night for me.

Live and let live I guess - which is not to discount your points. The wrong sort of behaviour can absolutely spoil the moment and the intensity in kinky play.

Each to their own I don't kink shame, or put other people down.

In terms of alternative lifestyles we now live in a world of swinger kink. Although my personal view is thar swinger kink is the shallow part of the pool, others think it it should not be in the pool, there are others that think it is only thing to be done in the pool.

In a thread on FL recently I distinguished between: (i) swinger kink, where people only do it for the sex, (ii) people into BDSM but it's done in a sexual way, (iii) people into BDSM. The difference between group (i) and groups (ii) and (iii) are etiquette, ethos and culture. Which is not to say that people in groups (ii) and (iii) don't swing, they do. But their kink is more personnel and connected.

But people are free to disagree.

However I often go on a Sunday where I meet friends.

Being into the BDSM scene as a Misstress I have often used the dungeon and love the apxe but feel it has more potential.

I would like to see a poster on the door with the rules asking people too keep thier voices low and not to stand close when a scene is in play and be respectful.
