Chams or attic

We are considering going chams (darlaston) 9th June (Friday). The issue we have is do we travel to the attic in derby or stay at chams for the Saturday night. Taking into consideration it’s only wife that plays (with men only) and I only play wife wife. So as you can see we only look for men. We love chams and never been attic but know the attic allow single men in on a Saturday unlike chams.

We understand what your saying. Not many guys in couples who will or can or want to play without half their other on a Saturday night. Of course if your in at the daytime on Saturday there's single guys till 7pm.

However we would say stay at Chameleons. Here's why. The Attic is in our experience pretty tragic these days. Especially based on the Saturday we last visited. Personally we'd prefer to have a nice social night together in a lovely club even if the prospect of play with others was very low rather than the Attic. Our experience was that bad and you can have a lovely night at Chameleons together even if you don't play. The only caveat on that is we hear party nights at the Attic are still good so maybe the Attic if a party is on.

Or try a different club? Maybe wrong but is Xtasia on a Saturday is it still a system where you can meet single guys in Flirts (the adjoining bar). If you like them your allowed to pick them up and take them into the club as your guest? Maybe worth checking that out if you don't know. Or maybe Atlantis Stoke on Trent (never been our selves so don't know what it's like)?

Sorry, property forget about Atlantis on a Saturday. That is also couples and single ladies on a Saturday.

All clubs are different and have their pro and cons. And after I have been to both clubs numerous times I have found that no two nights are the same. Its down to luck of the night and personal preference and suggest you attend a couple of times at each club.

I prefer the Attic but don't think that Chams is any better or worse.

Interested in what you say about the Attic as we've been trying to decide if we should give it a try for some time now. Normally we go to Libs, Chams, Amigos and occasionally VA. What was so bad about The Attic recently?

Well I get we may have hit it on a particularly bad night. However the Attic was the first club we went to many years ago and it was good. But the few times we've been since it not been so good. Now granted we may be a little unlucky with our timings but the last visit we made on a Saturday night was terrible to be honest. It was empty and cold. They decided not to staff the main bar (I guess due to such few numbers). Instead there was a fridge downstairs for you to store your drinks in and help yourself. We didn't like the idea that basically anyone in the club could access our drinks without our knowledge. Seemed a bit risky especially for a club where no one is member and you can just come in off the street anonymously. The vibe was totally off, it just wasn't a great atmosphere and felt just a bit tragic.

Like we said it may have been a particularly unlucky night. We know people who still go and have a good time. And pretty much everyone says party nights are good. However for us based off experience why go Attic on a weekend and risk a poor night when we can go to other clubs within range and know we'll have a good time?

Not trying to be bitchy, we used to like the Attic and wish it all the best. However we can only call it as we see it from our experience the last couple of times. In the context of the question asked personally we would recommend staying at Chams even if devoid of the available mem or find another club were there is single men over a poor club experience. Obviously that up to them but that would be our advise.

I understand you can only go on your experiences. I have never anyone say that the club has been cold, far from it people say its too warm.

Also I have never known the top not to be manned on a Saturday night.

But everyone is entitled to there opinion.

Love both clubs the attic is my favourite but we only go on a party night as they are always busy.

Chams is completely different vibe to the attic both are great clubs. If you want single males go when Chams first opens as single guys are allowed in till 7ish I think

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience on your last visit. The top bar is always open on Saturdays, it's closed on Fridays as Fridays tend to be a bit more quieter. I don't think anywhere can garentee a busy or quiet night that's usually down to people attending not the club.

The fridge downstairs is right in front of the downstairs bar about two meters in front, right next to where Ron can usually be found sitting.

The guys in the Attic won’t know what hit them when they meet mrs Glory. I have had the pleasure of playing with her a couple of times at Steamers and she is just amazing!! I hope you have a great night, maybe try the cinema in the daytime, it’s free for couples and you will definitely get plenty of guys in there.

Congleton / Derby

I’ve only been going to clubs for nearly a year now and it’s mainly the attic I go to.

I’ve noticed that it has quitter evenings than other nights. This could be down to many factors away from the club. Plus school holidays have a part to play in this and people financial situation with cost of living going up. Plus all clubs are different and have their pro and cons.

Most of our best and fun times have happened on a quitter Saturday night and Friday than a party night. We have found that no two nights are the same. It’s down to luck of the night and what fun you and others are looking for and if they or you match.

It’s not the staffs fault they are there for your safety and wellbeing at the end of the day. In doing an amazing job of this they are friendly and make you feel welcomed busy or quiet.

Plus they have business over heads so if they see it relevant to close certain bits of the club to save money that’s a good thing for the customers in the future as it keeps the entrance fees down.
