So you see someone in a club you know…

I’ve heard it said a few times, that people worry about seeing someone they know, from normal life in a swinging club.

I’ve seen folk i know, in clubs and i’ve just kept to myself. Its not my business why they’re there and same in reverse. Plus surely they’ve had to sign up and become a member same as I did. They're not accidentally there….

So if you saw someone you knew from vanilla life in a club, would you acknowledge them or ignore them?

Acknowledge them, they're there for the same reason.

Besides, you might get to bang someone you know

We have she looked terrified but after a chat and a drink we reassured her that we’re here for the same thing and to enjoy her night, nothing has been said since when we’ve met in street.

This happened to us years ago. Busy night at a club. We spot someone in a playroom who I knew through work.

I was higher up the company tree than they were. I'd heard that they were pretty open about what they got up to off the clock and I also knew that they were a monstrous gossip. It was an absolute certainty that, by lunchtime Monday, half the company would know I'd been spotted at a swingers club. I had the type of job where this kind of "scandal" would have had me suspended by the end of the day.

We quickly gathered our things and slipped off home. We might have all been there for the same reason but the power dynamic was definitely one sided.

I have.

We acknowledged.

Might as well address the elephant in the room

I'm still confused as to why this would be a scandal... If I saw one of my team at a swingers club I'd be like "fuck... So and so is cool!"

I would acknowledge in a swingers Club but if I recognised someone from here say by their living room/maybe a tattoo then I wouldn't make it known to them if that makes sense.

We’re always really pleased and often surprised when we’ve seen people we know.

It’s happened a couple of times and they always seemed to feel the same.

It’s like meeting an old friend.

Depends on who, and how we know each other!

It wouldn’t be a close friend as they all know of my enm. An acquaintance from a work environment I might nod and let them decide. I definitely wouldn’t tell anyone I’d seen them there!

If it's someone I work with, I'd do my best to stay out of their way. Others- depends. I saw my ex in the club one day, with his partner. My first reaction was to hide, despite the fact we broke up over 10 years ago. But we acknowledged each other and that led us to becoming FBs, eventually.

We have no problems being recognised but we understand that may be different for others. So we acknowledge them with initial eye contact and take it from there. If its clear they are avoidant on seeing us we'd give them space and pretend we didn't see them. However if the respond positively back (as has happened every time so far) we'd go say hello.

Has happened a couple of times. One just blanked me completely on the couple of times I saw them, it was just a face from work who I had little to do with. Another kept looking away before reluctantly acknowledging me. They didn't engage with me in anyway and that's cool. They did look quite shocked

My ex boss and her husband.

I was working the bar and she nearly died when she saw me.

A simple " yes madam what can I get you" relaxed her a bit.

We had a little quiet chat and everything was cool.

It has only happened once and we each acknowledged the other and carried on to have a very nice evening. No issue, nor mention outside of the Club

I saw a girl from the gym once. I didn't think anything of saying hello! She was embarrassed but it was fine after we chatted. I don't think there's many people I'd find it embarrassing to bump into!

I was at townhouse and someone I worked with was there with a woman who wasnt his wife. He was into bondage in a big way. Nothing was said and spoke a few times after!
