Just read from a friends profile that the attic in Derby has new premises. What does anyone else know?

Great news if it comes off.

Yes, new premises have been found and an application was made to Derby City Council to convert the building. Looking on the council planning website permission has now been granted which is great news.

Even better news is that the location is about 5 mins walk to a big hotel so will save money on taxis going forward! Can’t wait

Does anyone know the plan in terms of transitioning to the new venue? When does it expect to open? Will there be a period of downtime or an overnight switch?

I was speaking to the chap on the door in there on Saturday. I think the plan is to build a bit in the new venue (which is close to the current one) then when there's enough built to open it will open. Then the old one will get ripped out and added to to new venue bit by bit. So no downtime. I think that's what he said...

Our understanding is they’ll phase the current premises out and the new one in at the same time. There’s likely to be a leaving party at the original site followed by a launch party at new around the same time.

Plans and ideas have changed numerous times since Ron first walked into the new premises, non more so than when it became apparent a second (attached) unit was also available and then more so with a subsequent third. Plans and ideas have changed based on the working round features within the building. Plans and ideas have changed with new and fresh insight. Plans and ideas have changed with professional advise. And no doubt Plans and ideas will continue to develop, even once the new premises are open.

As with any business the goal will be to have as minimal downtime between closing and opening, and all with as little disruption to the current club as possible.

So whatever plans you hear will (have been) be correct at that moment in time but are no doubt evolving. The official dates will be on the clubs website and social media once they can be agreed confidentiality enough.

I would say The Stuart Hotel, that’s where we currently stay and are able to walk to the club in 10 mins
