Does everyone make a big effort? Does it get really warm in the building as I have a full length vampire costume which is quick thick.

Yes this be my first pretty much everything to do with swinging, total newbies

In our opinion you could nit choose a better club to dip your toes (or anything else).. such a friendly social vibe that after an hour you'll truly believe you've been here for years!

And the club has air con on the dancefloor, upstairs and patio doors, windows to leave open in other areas and a large open area to cool down so never found it an issue

Look forward to introducing ourselves if you make it

I'm going to be brutally honest. I didn't enjoy the night. It really put me off wanting to go club again. But I'm sure the regulars had fun. It was like going to a party that I clearly didn't belong to. Spoke to noone there as everyone stayed in their own bubble. But some people really did well with the costumes.

The actual venue was very impressive. Beautiful barn conversion. Great play rooms. But adult clubs are just not for me

I'm sorry you felt like that but I've always found Jaydees to be the complete opposite and all the regulars really inclusive especially if they know people are new there, I think if you had been on a quieter night it would have been a complete different story as people would have noticed that you where new and made sure you was included.

Staff introduced us to someone who clearly wasn't interested in talking to us. I don't smoke so going into smoking area wasn't right place. We walked through there but everyone was grouped up with their own friends so sorry I didn't find the place to be very welcoming.

Sorry to hear you feel this way. As someone who attends regularly as a single woman, there's always plenty of people to talk to - if you make the effort.

I personally don't wait for people to talk to me and I just say hello, regardless of who's in a group or not or whether I'm smoking or not. I've a fair few single Female friends who don't smoke but still come out and mingle as its quite a social area however there is always the rest of the club.

Nevertheless, it's a shame you feel the way you do and hopefully it doesn't put you off clubs altogether.

The club has two different vibes on a Friday and Saturday night.

Fridays are more social, so the kitchen will be busy and the room with the couches and chairs. The upstairs area tend to busier then.

If you give Friday a chance you will see a different crowd and might have, hopefully a better experience.

It can feel like putting your favourite shoes on the wrong feet and that's going to be frustrating.

Hope you give the club another chance.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. Its great to experiment and find out your likes and dislikes but I'm not sure its a fair comment to say everyone was in their own bubbles or to say you didn't feel welcome because people didn't talk to you. Could it be your own confidence made it difficult rather than the clientele? I have been to a few clubs, many times and Jaydees has to be one of the most inclusive environments. The reviews always say 'friendly' 'welcoming and 2000 people can't all be wrong

You develop friendship groups of course, this isn't a bad thing but new friendships start with strangers meeting and talking right?.. you have to start somewhere and to base your thoughts on one introduction that didn't go well is not, in my opinion, a true reflection of the people who go there at all.

Jaydees is famous for newbie nights and pride themselves in making them feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible (we were all newbies once lol)

The staff and others work tirelessly throughout the night and so much more behind the scenes and they always ensure where possible, connections are made to make any newcomers welcome but to be honest this is usually something that occurs naturally rather than a forced introduction as everyone talks to everyone.

Last night was exceptionally busy as you know so even I didn't get round to talking to so many people! Maybe this was also why you felt a little alone or left out.. we are all human and with so many people and things to keep an eye on it was understandable that not everyone got undivided attention but they did their very best to keep all safe which is paramount.

You also said this was your first club visit but your review stated you were more welcomed at another club.

Maybe clubs are not for you and thats absolutely cool, maybe you just need to break out of the nervous shell as to be involved you usually have to get involved

That's the great thing about swinging, experience all and continue what you enjoy

Personal opinion is what reviews are all about and the club always takes on board constructive feedback which is why people return week after week.

I'm really well travelled and can speak to nearly anyone. Worked in the hospitality industry for many years so don't think it's my social skills was the issue. The whole crowd just seem too involved with eachother.

For example, I went to the kitchen, people were in transistion. I sat in the quiet lounge. I looked at a couple, they looked quite vacant. Another couple joined them and the conversation sounded intense. I sat there on my own for 10 minutes. Noone else came. So went in the hot tub. Again the couple in there were having an intense conversation with themselves. Single men just wondered in and out, probably hoping to see any action. The single men that did speak to me asked for the toilet and hurried off. They didn't seem to speak English fluently which made it difficult. One guy turned around and told me he loved my costume but as I looked at his partner, her face didn't look impress so I just didn't feel it was right to continue the conversation so I said thank you and left it as that.

Yes, the only other club I went to for 1 night, I ended up chatting to about 10 people who all were friendly and we hanged out for abit. The staff were too were very nice, the host had afew chats with me.

So I came to the conclusion Jaydees just wasn't my scene, I just couldn't gel with anyone there. Shame as I really love the actual building and it's facilities but ultimately it's all about the people. I spoke to one couple on fab who experienced the same as me. So I know I'm not alone. I get the impression that Jaydee is a amazing place for regulars and for people who "face fits".

This does reminds me of one episode of Friends, where Rachel had to start smoking in order to get her promotion and build her relationship with her boss. Makes me giggle. Just be nicer if clubs had two socialising areas. The only two choices was stand outside in the cold with smokers and try talking in the loud disco area. Neither places easy for me as a nonsmoker or drinker, slightly deaf newbie. Lol.

Sounds like I've been miss reading people all this time, I've always had people make eye contact and smile at me there but I've always took it as people just being friendly and smiled back then carried on with my night with the people that actually make an effort and say hello

I’m sorry you got the experience that you did. I was a newbie the week before and had a completely opposite experience. However, I made an effort and it paid off. It just feels like you want to slag the place off tbh as it’s one criticism after another yet there are over 2000 reviews saying different! They can’t all be wrong. I did see your status saying about no fit men being there so maybe you got attention but not from any guys that and that’s pissed you off!

We pride ourselves on making sure we Try to cater for everyone. From social to open play private rooms and couples only area and a smoking area for the smokers.

Saturday night was an unprecedented night and everyone worked there socks off to make this club the best it can be and I think by the reactions that others that attended are quite offended by your comments and you club review. This is why the social room works for me and my partner for all of the the exact reasons you just said. We don't like the smell either.

It's like at school the smoking kids will never understand why the nonsmoking kids won't give them a fag...this rot kicks in from such an early age.

If you for want to try again, why don't you try on a Friday and come and sit with us. We have been known to have mentor new visitors to the club, who vey quickly settle in and make new friends.

I know how awkward it is to spend the evening not speaking to people. It felt like that at the Halloween.
