I'm from the NW but will be in London more and more for work over the next few months, does anyone have any recommendations for the best club to join for a single straight guy?

Pleasures in Kent on a Friday night or Kestrels / AbFab near Heathrow airport might suit you

it can be hit or miss on a Friday but is usually good on a Sunday afternoon.

We tend to avoid London ourselves.

LE BOUDOIR it's very nice club to visit it's open Thrusday and Friday for single guy.

Another recommendation for Kestrels/Ab Fabs as great vibe and mix of people with a friendly atmosphere to go with it :

Mondays and Wednesdays 11am til 11pm

Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am til 6pm

Friday 11am til 6pm then 9pm til 2am

Saturdays 11am til 5pm then 9pm til 2am

Sundays 11am til 8pm
