I been thinking about going with someone but she is very shy and body concious. We had a quick look at a couple of local ones online but one said you HAVE to get changed and this really put us both off tbh. Is there any in Lancashire where you don't have to? We only want to have a few drinks and check it out and it seems unfair to be forced to if you aren't even sure if its for you.

It's possible you've misinterpreted the rules. It's easy to do. There are a few clubs that require dressing down on entry, but my understanding is that these are the exceptions.

At the ones I've been to, you can stay fully dressed the whole night if you want. You only have to dress down if you want to go to the open play rooms (and that might only apply after a certain time).

The only one I know near you is Townhouse, and you can have a great night socialising there without ever getting changed. I would guess most of the others in that area are similar, but don't have first-hand experience.

Even if you don't intend to dress down, fearing you'll be too self-conscious, it's worth bringing a change of clothes just in case. Clubs are liberating places, and you never know how you'll feel once you're there.

Townhouse has different events and some of which are able to stay clothed longer.

That would give you time to have a tour round and enjoy the bar area before deciding to stay

Also “dress down” means different things to different people. Some chose to wear a little cover up or sexy dress that you wouldn’t wear in the vanilla world but it doesn’t always have to be super minimal tiny bra and knickers

The sex pistols on here would advise which would be good to attend.

By far the best club in the area xx

And I have been informed through a mail that I suspect was meant to be a reply to this thread, that Club Play in Blackpool doesn't do dress-down on entry either.

That's one I've been meaning to go to for some time. I hear good things.

For anyone curious it was on the cupids website that getting changed on entry was mandatory.

Cupid’s is dress down on arrival

Club play - bar area you can stay dressed but can’t go upstairs to the play areas

No3 is dress down on arrival

Townhouse- dependent on event

Not sure about infusions - only one I’ve not been too out of the above.

All accept a cover up/ kimono type thing over underwear though.

"Club play sounds beginners friendly "

They all are. Everyone’s really friendly. Much more laid back and chilled than vanilla nights out.

Just pick your event carefully. Some are much busier than others and some full blown filth/parties compared to chill nights and more slower paced.

Any good Hosts will advise which are most appropriate for what your looking for

I’ve never been in a swinging club where people stay fully dressed as the night progresses, even when your allowed foo. It wouldn’t be fair too either.

But as I said earlier, I listed them.

Speak to the hosts and they’ll tell you the events you can stay dressed at and get a feel for it

The worst that can happen is you hate if. So you leave. No big deal

Infusions you don’t have to dress down on the ground floor, just If you plan to wander up stairs
