I would love to join one if not both of these clubs, but as yet haven't got round to doing so.

I'm sure both clubs are unique and great in many ways, but which is best for singles, couples, newbies (hate that word, but seems to get a lot of use), friendliness, events or whatever you can think of.

And yes I am single, so Iknow there may be restrictions to membership and certain nights too.

The similarities between the rwo clubs are that both only allow couples in on a Saturday night and both are mixed nights on a Friday.

The biggest single difference between the two clubs is that Chams is a towel club, ie you as a guy strip to a towel or shorts shortly after entering the club and ladies also to a towel or more normally lingerie, whereas Xtasia is a nightclub style club, which from a guys point of view means smart casual, no jeans/trainers etc whereas a lady dresses as sexy as she dares which will range from lingerie to see through outfits right up to various forms of dresses.

Xtasia is 6 months or so into a new management reign which has delivered lots of new stuff including some refurbishments and new events like foam parties for example. Chams is longer established in that sense, ie same management and has various established nights like bi night, naked Tusdays etc.

I've never been to Chams but here good things about it from everyone who I have spoken too or read on the forums, I'm a member of Xtasia, like the club and the way that it is run.

You'll have to check with both clubs about the membership rules for a single guy.

On the other hand, I have been a regular to Chams and am yet to try Xtasia but it is something I do want to try.

As mentioned above, Chams is a "towel club" and forr that you get two jaccuzzis, a steam room, a sauna, dungeon with glory holes as well as an array of lockable rooms and various other rooms including a couples only room. There is a sun deck for the rare days when we do get sunshine as well! Changing rooms are split, one for couples and single ladies and one for single men. Also available are hotel rooms owned by and part of Chams which means that you can change for the club in your room and walk straight in to the club and you don`t need taxis etc to get back either. Rooms are at least the standard of a Travelodge and you do get brekkie as well. Phone the club directly for a booking, they are well worth the money! Chams is a "bring your own alcohol" club so you hand over your drink when you go in and they serve you with it at your request. Soft or hot drinks and food hot or cold can be purchased and these are charged to your locker key. You settle this bill as you leave.

Having only been to Chams, I wouldn't want to try other clubs (wrong or right, I don't know) I was made to feel so welcome and such a relaxed non-pressurised environment

There's a waiting list for single guys membership, but its always worth calling and finding out more, or find somebody to go with (not entirely sure on their "guest" policy)

ive been to both clubs

depends what kind of club your looking for

personally i prefer chams

but saying that i havnt been to xtasia since its been under new management, i didnt like it under the old people the club had far to many points that needed addressing in my view

i would like to go now and see if improvements have been made

Xtasia was the first club we had ever been too, and we went there because if the fact we could keep our clothes on! But I found the the journey from the car to the club a nightmare as it right next to a busy pub/social club, and the experience inside wasn't much better! However we did go a fair few times so it couldn't have been that bad! I did find it a little dirty ( In the cleaning sense lol )

However chams is like a paradise, really chilled and homely. Staff are really friendly and very clean, go there about every 6 weeks or so. Don't worry about the towel thing it makes the whole swinging thing easier and quicker to get going

Our reply to you, just to help out. As the owners of Xtasia, we also have spent many, many happy hours chilling at Chams and historically loved the place, although not sure we'd be welcome now for obvious reasons. Bottom line from us having been in the scene for ages, is to try both, both are very different, and in all honesty don't really compete with each other. One is towels, dress down, relax, and sex pretty quickly if you wish, bring your own booze, etc, and the other is dress up, tease most of evening before the big play finish, licensed bar, etc. Two different choices and it would be great if everyone could see that and have a "weekend away" trying both out. In the last "Sex in the Cities" guidebook, Chams was number 1 in the country, and Xtasia number 3, that was before we took over and did stuff here, so out of around 100 clubs in the UK you're trying to decide between two of the top rated venues, both here in Birmingham. To us it just means a good weekend can be had by visiting both.

Just to jump on the two criticisms above, cleanliness was first on our jump list when we took over, please see recent reviews, and pub is currently closed down, although its never an issue when open, (just friendly banter with a few guys out front), and we do have a side entrance people can use if they need to.

My rear entry is not up for grabs!! Yet

I've been to both Chams and Xtasia and has already been said before they are completely different styles of clubs, chams = wet club style, Xtasia = nightclub style.

If only one of those styles floats your boat, then go for that one, if either of them sound good, give them both a try.

I know there was a waiting list for single males to become members at Chams, so have a look for when Fab are doing a social there and that way you can get on the guest list to have a look round without becoming a member.

As far as I know, Xtasia are still accepting single male members as long as you apply in advance on thier website and wait for a reply from them, that way you could go any Friday night, or alternatively see when they are holding thier next Fab social and see if you have to be a member of the club to attend!

Both clubs are excellent in thier own way, I've got my own favourite for my own reason, but don't see the need to express that here

As for a couple of points raised by someone else in here about Xtasia, I'd like to say that I've been a couple of times in the last few months and the cleanliness was excellent, couldn't fault it. As for the pub, nobody I spoke to at Xtasia had any problems with the people that might of been outside and as BlackpoolFlirt has said, at the moment the pub is closed so doesn't matter anyway.

Hope you manage visits to both clubs and then go back to both for more fun

hi hi well were on a club tour at the moment so here goes chams as stated is a towel club and might be to much for a first visit but its an exellent club / xtasia is cheap for drinks and a lot of improvements have been made / also we met paul the owner and he is a great guy / going to fry your head now and add another club adventures in lust stoke one sexy club and sexy peeps free to join and ten pound per couple katie likes this the best but i mark like xtasia chams is the biggest but adventures is the freindlest AND WITH THAT ITS MAKE YOUR MIND UP FOLKES LOL XXX MARK @ KATIE
