I am a single bloke and not yet been to a club can the experienced folk help me figure out why the cost for single males compared to single females is so high. Not a sexist concern just wondered why. Is it to keep single males at a minimum amount. Cheers

Simple answer is because there are people prepared to pay.

Yes, basic supply and demand.

Surprised you need to ask, as some profiles state the bi female is as rare as rocking horse s**t and if they charged higher rates many wouldn't bother going and just arrange something elsewhere. As the previous profile stated simple supply and demand.

As others have said it's supply and demand. The price for single male admission is definately to keep the numbers lower. Imagine just how many single males would be in a club if the admission was as per single ladies of ranging from free to about £10.

I do think that more single ladies attend clubs now than say ten years ago, I'm not sure of the reason why, maybe it's the internet has simply informed mre ladies about what is out there, maybe it's because theres more clubs, maybe it's because ladies have become more self confident nad to a degree have started to treat sex in a similar way to guys. Whatever it is, here's hoping more single ladies choose to attend clubs in the future.

Here and there

^All valid arguments but essentially it is sexual discrimination to have different prices for different genders and shouldn't actually be allowed.

Not that I'm complaining, there are too many guys at the best of times so anything that evens out the numbers can only be a good thing.

Oh great then the clubs will be overrun with single guys £10 for all.. and then no couples would go single guys would go - result clubs close and then ? It's nothing to do with discrimination it's about stopping herds of single guys getting in. Been to clubs where there were 9 single guys to a couple, was not nice at all...

I did say that I wasn't complaining about it, clubs have got to make money and try to keep everyone happy but it is literally the definition of discrimination, one rule for one group, a different rule for another.

I believe the law is being changed so that everyone has to be charged the same price, gender equality and all that. It is not in practice at the moment but will be coming soon.

As a single guy I don't mind paying higher prices than couples or single females. I'm sure most clubs don't make a massive profit. What's the other option? Raise prices for couples and females, which I'm sure would drive down the amoun of them going clubbing. In 8 years of going to clubs I have never once felt that I was overcharged, and when I have gone as a couple the reduced entry fee was a little bonus.

Keep it high for males so that there are not too many- but dont fill the club with 40 quids so that all you do is take the money - most clubs i have been too recently has the wrong balance- yes difficult to get right but some clubs advertise a 'selected number of single men ;to find they are the majority.

We took a single guy along with us to a club last month and the single women were on him like flies round shit as single men are apparently few and far between there. Personally I prefer them to other couples

I would have been most upset at those odds... far to few single guys lol but in seriousness.. I dont think most clubs charge to much now..

For what a guy would spend on a night out.. its really not that much.. What annoys me is when said blokes paying £45 or so to get in ( I know some clubs its less) then expect to get sex and are miffed when us ladies turn them down.

Have to say this is my experience too. Mostly it's just couples. Unless I go on a night for greedy girls.

Well if it ever is applied then single females at a club will be like rocking horse poo. It will be a lot easier (and make more financial sense) for clubs to put the price of single females up to match the price single males pay.

Remember when male OAPs successfully challenged the government so they could get their bus passes at the same time as female OAPs? Result was female OAPs had to wait 5 years extra for theirs and the males still got theirs at 65. But hey, thats alright...the sexes are equal now.

As a club owner myself, i have tryed to find out just what couples really want, there answer to that was, not too many single guys, so as some of you have said if we only charged £10 pounds we would be inundated with messages from single guys, PLUS if you pay that little bit extra to come to a club, its still cheeper than a hotel

Already in - it's the Equality Act 2010.

The law exists, but unless it is enforced, things won't change. Most club owners rely on the fact that no-one is going to take them up in front of Trading Standards, and risk getting press and media exposure, to keep their pricing the way that it is.

IF prices have to change then I think it will come as a hell of a culture shock to Couples and Single Females, when they discover what a difference to what they have to pay will be, once the single male subsidy that the clubs enjoy is lost.

As it stands with club prices for single females, I am able to go twice a week.

If the prices were to be matched with single males, I'd only go once a month.

I wouldn't bother going to clubs as a single female at all if I had to pay male prices. Why would I bother - I can get as much sex as I want outside the club for free.

If the girls don't turn up the guys won't either, so it won't be economic to run greedy girls nights.
