Why do people complain about the price of soft drinks in clubs that you have to bring your own alcohol ?

No idea! Think clubs are really cheap nights out!

Even if guys have an extortionate entry price (which I don’t agree with but separate thread ha) it’s still cheaper than a “normal” night out! X

I'd complain about paying brand name prices for cheap supermarket softdrinks from a big bottle to be honest. Assuming this is referencing a recent club review

Never said they didn't, but when people are used to paying less for branded soft drinks in other clubs that's when people feel like it's overpriced.

"£5 for a Vodka & cola is expensive when you have already paid £40 to get in the club in the first place."

This is one of the reasons why we like Jaydees, they don't over charge their soft drinks and don't mind if you take your own mixers!

Some clubs do take us for mugs!

Depends on the club and the prices they're charging. Most clubs are really good value and as others have said are actually a fairly cheap night out (singles guys aside).

Somewhere like Libs, however, has always pitched itself as a more premium venue, and you pay accordingly. In fact I was told that once upon a time you had to prove a certain bank balance to be accepted as a member, although that might not be true. That's compounded by the fact that they have their own bar, which is always gonna be more expensive than a BYOB venue.

We've been to a few BYOB clubs and I suppose it's a matter of opinion

It's no different to an unlicensed restaurant and works out cheaper to nip to the shop and get a bottle of wine or some beers than drink softies all night.

Regards to clubs we find and would expect to pay no more than a pub or bar price for an identical drink be booze or not and meny offer tea, coffee, tap water or possibly squash free of charge?

Mostly we have found in general that club soft drinks are pretty reasonable and cheaper than pubs, bars, café etc.

Can't say we've felt hard done by anywhere and where we are and pre covid.

Your entry fee grants you access and the use of the venue anything that you want extra is upto you.

Must say that a night out on the town not drinking alcohol and it costing the same amount alcoholic drinks is more of a pisser

Do they though and what’s the price point to complain at? I should imagine it would differ on which part of the country your in.
