How long left for this club?

So, in the local press dated October 12th, it's been revealed that the building that is home to the Attic, as well as offices and storage facilities, has been sold to a developer based in Nottingham.

ALB managing director Arran Bailey said: "It is fantastic for us to be able to take on this thriving, characterful building.

"What attracted us to the building was the potential for future uses, its features and the fact it’s in a desirable location close to the centre of Derby."

ALB buys properties for residential conversion but has said it will remain as a commercial building for the immediate future.

For us it won't be missed as it's not a club we choose to use; much preferring the more salubrious, Chameleons in Darlaston, or Purple Mamba in Nottingham.

Will anyone miss the Attic?

I'd miss it terribly.. and cant see this being true as they are currently doing even more work on the club. As in currently putting in more toilets downsides. So not like just putting a lick of paint on things

This club for me is my 2nd home.... its friendly... clean.. and just has something for everyone x

We would miss it so much - it has become our second home and refuge on a Saturday afternoon.

Hope it stays open for a while yet, though nothing is forever. We would miss the salubrious mirrored room and the nice staff.

I’m sure if their was to be any immediate changes to the current situation, then we as customers using it would be informed in some form or other as we attend by the staff or Ron himself.

I’m sure everybody will have their own feelings on whether or not they will miss it but I think in regards to its size and what it can provide in variety I’m sure it will be missed by many.

We'd miss the The Attic terribly.

We've seen Ron & the team go from strength to strength and have made many new friends there.

Let's be realistic though. Yes the company has previous form and you'd be blind not to see what would eventually happen to the site but that could be years away dependant upon the current lease agreement and other factors.

We plan on returning for the Halloween party. Can't wait. Whoop, whoop.

Yes the club has changed hands in ownership of the premises but as a member of staff and after a discussion with Ron I can confirm that the club is NOT closing ..rumours will no doubt still circulate as always but take this as an official statement ...I will be posting this on the website too

We loved the place before covid hit. Unfortunately they didn't put any duty of care in place regarding covid when they reopened so we've not been back. We do miss the place and the staff. Good luck to all whatever the outcome of the sale of the building

Phew!

That's a massive relief. We've tried several other clubs, but The Attic is always our first choice.

The attic is not closing we are hoping to get a meeting with the new owners of the site asap but his secretary has said everything is staying the same for a few years and then the director will make a decision on the site but rest assured the attic will continue even if we have to find new premises then thank you all for your support and long may it continue we love you all its not just for the money

Great news, we had our first visit last Friday and was that good we stayed for the weekend, Ron and all the staff were brilliant and made us feel like it was our 2nd home from the beginning, looking forward to many more visits very soon and is now one out of the 2 clubs we are sticking to visiting at least for the next few years after trying plenty of other clubs. Well ran, lovely and clean and super friendly, Matt & Fi x

Will anyone miss the attic !!!

Well yes I’m sure the 500 people it attracts on party nights would miss it dearly.

We love the place, by far the friendliest club we have been to and we have been to most throughout the midlands.

Hoping it stays for years to come and knowing Ron like we do we know one things for sure it whatever capacity the attic is here to stay !

It easy to buy but sitting tenant have there leases and some are long reason it can take years to turn a mill into other use as you cant just ask who there to leave.

Not in Wisbech but near

We would certainly miss the Attic as we have had some absolutely fantastic nights there and made some lovely friends everytime we have been. Even though we have had a couple of incidents with single males we will still keep visiting, as the staff dealt with it tremendously and we are always made to feel so welcome.

Have no doubt the club will be there for quite some time still and whilst it is we will keep going and if it does move well guess what, we will find you Ron as Mrs wants more and more goes on your toys
