"Swingers" C4 Documentary

Hey all,

So last night at Liberty Elite we were made aware of the documentary that came out on channel 4 last year. Can't for love nor money find it anywhere to watch, but would love to see it. Does anyone know how we could go about watching it?

Tried that but it looks like it got taken down off there. There is just a short series called "Young Swingers" instead, which we'll watch anyway

Wouldn't worry to much. Wasn't that good. Didn't give a well balanced insight into the scene and certainly didn't do Libs justice, far better venue than it showed. All in all poorly made and made out it was still like the 1970s. Well that was our take on it. Hope you enjoyed your night x

Ah I see, I'm curious from an intellectual curiosity point of view. Does the media still paint our lifestyle as seedy and taboo or have we grown up yet?

We remember watching this, we don't believe it gave Libs a good vibe and kind of made the young couple look a bit insecure, don't believe it did the swinging scene any justice,.

Knew you would have a good night, see why we go the miles! Although yes, happy days, Secrets is back! Slightly different but equally a great venue and brilliant party. See you there.

Didn't make it out to be taboo as such, just gave the impression that the scene was full of insecure or needy people, not couples and people comfortable in where they are.

Difficult to do a proper documentary on this because, obviously, most will hold back from such public exposure to the those who judge brigade, many of whom are far less happy with their own relationships but can't be honest with each other ?? x

So we watched it last night and I completely agree with your thoughts here.

It would have been a more accurate representation if they'd spent less time on people's mental health and more time on couples comfortable in their own skin and all the good things it does for them/why they go. Would have been good to explain the etiquette, no means no and ask to play etc

And considering this was broadcast to the general public and would have been good to explain soft swinging too. Interesting exposure, just not the right kind I feel. Typical channel four type documentary :P

The older lady was a real character. We'd definitely sit and have a chat with her if we ever came across her in a club.

Yep, bedhoppers have a regular podcast on Spotify and probably other podcast stations too & they're very good
