If you can't stay at VA then Premier Inn at Wyboston ( there are two close together) or Travelodge at the Black Cat roundabout by the A1.

Book Prem Inns at least 8 weeks in advance and it's about £30...

We have booked several nights at the Wybosten one including NYE at about £40

Cheaper for us to go in our Fiat 500 than pay petrol in our camper to stay onsite.....

Obviously my above post will only apply to future visits.... Prems the day before arrival tend to be expensive.
