We spent two nights at Silverleigh and

we didn't rate it.

Why?

It's a small place. The en-suite room we had was clean and the bathroom nice and clean. The bed was a fold-down bed (of the kind that stows upright against a wall) and was uncomfortable to sleep in and not huge. The shower was very lame - not much flow at all.

The indoor pool is nice and heated and the whole area is cleaned daily. They have a couple of mid-sized hot tubs, sauna, and steam room. They have 3 very small play rooms. They have massage therapists on site. All good.

However, Babe wasn't just hassled by single guys - they touched her in the hot tub and approached her in uninvited ways without asking. This is a no. When we mentioned it to staff the reply was, "Yes, they can be like that." WTF?

Then, on the Friday couples evening (which was a fuck fest - not necessarily a bad thing in itself) we had couples do the same thing. And one guy (part of a couple) tried to kiss and fuck babe without her permission. No. No. No! Again, WTF?

The worst bit for us, staying over, was the pool is not available in the mornings till about midday! Not good. The venue opens at 11am but they don't seem to cater for those staying over.

On one day we bought some food during the day and were told to pay at the end of our stay - even though we tried paying at the time. We got woken up in the early hours by the staff banging on our door wanting us to settle the bar bill! WOKEN UP!!! FFS.

The bar/eating area was often dirty - crumbs, cups, etc. The smoking area overflowing with cigarette butts. It was not being cleaned up enough.

After the couples night there was a reasonable brekkie selection but on a non-party night they seemed to not care and there was little brekkie. No teaspoons, no OJ, etc.

Sorry, but we definitely won't be going back. We did meet a couple of lovely couples and some fine gents (you know who you are - and you made us feel very welcome - thank you!)

There's a fab 'greasy spoon' café and Indian restaurant just along the road for food - definitely both worth visiting.

Each to their own

We stayed the same Friday, and didn't have these issues on the Saturday morning, there was plenty of breakfast available, we had a lovely swim and use of the facilities in the morning from around 10am, and we have never found the tubs touchy feely.

We totally avoid the playrooms, as having a hotel room means you can use as you want.

Our room have always been excellent, just refitted to a high standard, where I can't comment on Eureka, we do know quite a few who now go to Silverleigh as they don't like the changes at Eureka.

Our biggest issue on that Friday was a few couples hogging the Jacuzzis all night. At one point the lower hot tub turned into an orgy and to hear someone saying "don't get any cum on my face" doesn't really make you want to get in it after.

I complained to staff about certain couples being selfish and got told they was short staffed. At midnight when they shut the jacuzzi we decided perhaps we might actually get a chance when it reopens. When we went down the same couples who had been in it since 5pm when we turned up where waiting to get into it again.
