I popped into the new club a few weeks back to see what it looked like. It was late on a Sunday so was dead but had a great tour.

It looks really well done. Nice pool and rooms. It’s been well thought out and they now seem to get the pricing structure right.

Has anyone been on a busy night yet? How was it?

I think this will be on my visit list for a Saturday night though.

With Secrets now closed down there should be lots of Secrets refugees looking for a new home. Will be really interesting to hear how folk get on with this new club. Could this be THE new place to go.. Or maybe Steamers?

Went yesterday really not happy with the shit show. The gloryhole (if you can call it that) was as bright as a Christmas tree and set out that only one cock at a time. Only one room that you can lock. Everywhere else with beds looked like you would be performing in a zoo. A hell of a lot of egotistical people there that look like they have never been on the swinging scene. A lot of 20-30 year olds pissed up. We think the bdsm area is totally in the wrong place same as the pole dancing pole. I personally don’t think a swinging club needs doormen but as this looks more like a night club with a few places to have play I think just 1 doorman is just not enough for 170 people. With which he finished before the club had closed (bit weird). The male owner got pissed up at the bar and throwing dildos around with another employee ( not very professional). Which really at the end of the night no one was in control just incase something had kicked off. For us not a very good and professionally run club.

This seems such a shame , it's not rocket science. Given they have such complex membership options, dont understand how they cant vet the guys....get them to pre book to cap numbers..etc. .and in general get a grip on things ...

Friday night was free entry with no restrictions/cap on single men so I'm not surprised it was overrun. Normally it looks like £60 for single men which should keep the numbers down. I'm not anti nights where there are going to be single men attending but if they are going to do that then they should also run a strictly couples only night.

We would agree that there were too many single guys that are not in the scene.

To be fair I think the owners just wanted to give a free night and get the club out there. They made a mistake with not vetting people properly and allowing people in on the night.

Personally we only had one brief problem a single guy, he was not a pissed up youngster, in fact I would say was well in his 50s, when asked to back off he did instantly and apologiesed.

The club itself, I think there certainly could be some improvements, I agree with the lighting would be better if it was darker in certain areas, I'm not sure if there was a lockable room or not. Personally when we are into it we don't have problem with people watching, but I expect many others prefer some privacy.

It's a new club, it's not going to be perfect to start off with I'm sure there will improvements as time goes by. Even if it was perfect in some people's eyes others would find fault, we are all different people with different ideas.

In our opinion we will give it a few more goes when we are able to, I'm sure it will be totally different on a normal night that isn't a freebie night.

Attended on Saturday night. All clubs are different and what people want from them. We have a fair amount of experience from visiting clubs. Not as many as we would like, but time and distance allowing, working on that.

Gosh I'd go to a club down here if it was a cheap yearly membership. I don't mind a bit of voyeur but I wouldn't like bright lights. And lots of single men being let in obviously to watch semi naked women /couples like a live porn video who are new or don't understand the scene wouldn't be very comfortable.

But I also don't agree with some clubs charging double for single men.

The prices need to match the experience.

Yes entirely agree they need to get their act together on a few counts.

1). The website is badly laid out, fiendishly complicated and still contains out of date info from July.

2) Original stated intention was that it would be open all day everyday but now only night time Thursday to Sunday and it doesn’t seem to have opened at all last 2 Sundays. There seem to be quite a lot of short notice reasons for not opening, sometimes put on fab, sometimes on the website, but altogether it’s very unclear whether a trip to Torquay to visit is going to be successful or wasted.

3) Many of the complex memberships seem irrelevant with the much reduced opening hours and each event actually seems to be 20 quid a head pay when you get there!

4) When I went on the 2nd Friday it was almost empty and I had to give my personal details; can’t imagine that was done last Saturday so it appears many non sceners who don’t know how to behave were in there which would have been rather unpleasant for those who know the etiquette.

We have received an email

back from the owners after we had emailed them with our thoughts and observations. We can say that it is a very good response and also how they appreciated the private feedback. The Owners/Directors appear very willing to listen and act on any concerns, observations or fair constructive ways to make this club the success that it has the potential of being. They have already started to address many peoples concerns about pricing and think this will be further looked into. Also the option of couples & single female nights only looks to be very much on the agenda. Something we think many will appreciate. Sorry if that upsets the single guys ,but in many couples eyes and ours it's an absolute must as an option. Can still operate, as many clubs do, with open single & couples nights as well, so not excluding. Also some single females do not like couples/single females only nights. It's about offering the best you can for everyone.

As said very happy with their response and look forward to continued good communication and continued improvements to help give the South West scene something for everyone.

Yup, good news that they're listening. Why wouldn't they? If you invest all that money in a new venture, you want it to be successful and you do that by understanding your market. We'll definitely give it a whirl to see for ourselves, and Swingers Quay too.

Their pricing / membership structure does seem to be a little odd, generally you have members only clubs with a relatively inexpensive yearly fee and the assurance of a least some vetting or a more free for all pay on the door one off...

It was great. A huge house basically converted into a purpose built sex club with a small dancefloor and pole. Various bed rooms, dungeon, cinema and dark room. Huge car park outside. Only a couple of minutes drive from the A38. Fingers crossed Secrets closing spurs the current owners on to getting it back up and running asap.

So Swingers quay is open for guys all week and only genuinely open to couples on a Saturday night. Why would the new place make Saturday nights couples only? Is there enough business for both? Are they trying to muscle the established place out?

I think it’s great that Torquay have two clubs and it’s great to have choice. But seems a bit mad to compete with a club when it was be easy to work nights around the other and both clubs succeed.

Yeah I get that about Saturday nights and we were looking to book one of the secrets events for the same reasons you mention.

WT choices for their nights and prices have often seemed to be either without any knowledge of the other local club or as a direct challenge to them. Just think it’s an odd way to go when this scene is not exactly buzzing with possible customers.

We have only been to one club night at SQ and want to give the new place a go at some point but feel like it will be pot luck if we pick the busier place to go when we actually get a chance to go out now. Will probably end up going further afield to check out other clubs than risk going local on a quiet night.

Think I remember some of those reviews. It’s an odd move to take cause it would potentially alienate some of the potential customer base they would be after.

There was obviously room for SQ and Secrets and people found the place they liked and from what I understand their offerings were different so no need to clash.

I kind of thought WT would find their own place and there could be room for both. Memberships have put us off so far too, we were keen to go back to SQ or elsewhere but not seen enough to make WT somewhere to go very soon.

We are regularly in Torbay, and we would not pay anywhere near that amount to go to a club, even the best clubs in the country don't charge that much!

Yeah possibly, but so far they have dropped prices to try and compete with another club in Torquay, doing the same style nights as the other club offers on the same nights so customer base might be split and apart from the free night it sounds like some people have left there cause it’s empty to go to the other club. So might be a while before they start thinking about fully booked events?

It sounds like they are still trying to adjust though so fingers crossed they work it out

I personally think it's great there is a new club that can appeal to a new generation of Swingers. It's difficult for clubs to start off and can't please everyone, but to cater for all is what's best!

As for single men, it's not all about couples in search of that Unicorn. Mostly, the clubs that have been around a long time it's full of regular swinging couples that have their "clique" of fucking each other for the last 20 years.

Personally as a single female I want to see the new rather than the old, & men, lots of men!

I do agree on turning the lights down, I like to do it like no one's watching

It does appear that they are listening to the feedback. Not sure what free membership option can be. Can't see many saying "No I would like payment option membership please" Why over complicate things? As clubs go the venue is well done and maximumises the use of the space available and the introduction of couples & single females only nights will probably help make it more appealing to many. Biggest thing to be successful is trust, professionalism and clear straight forward fair pricing. We hope they continue to improve through the feedback they have been receiving ??

We went last Friday 20/08. We are a laid back couple and enjoy single men at clubs. The first thing I noticed was the huge sign on the side of the venue making it pretty obvious what's inside. We were heckled by a few kids on the way in which wasn't the best start. The club itself is really nicely kitted out and clean. Nice facilities and well laid out. There were around 5-6 single guys and two other couples while we were there. We got chatting to some of the guys. Two of them were so d*unk they could barely string a sentence together and one was incredibly rude to me and also making comments about other people's appearance. He would have certainly been thrown out of a regular pub for being a d*unk dickhead let alone a swinging club. The staff were all friendly enough but were fully getting on the piss at the bar. It all felt quite unprofessional and chaotic.

Nothing would tempt us back.

Oh dear unfortunately sounds like they are not getting to grips with things since their promotion night. So much damage being done from the start with the bad reports. Going to take a lot to turn this around and give people confidence. Great shame because it has potential, but never going to survive unless they sort out the unprofessional approach and the way it is currently being run, but it's their club, so it's upto them. Currently sadly in our eyes looking like a missed chance of success.

Bar staff getting pissed up is enough for a local authority to remove its alcohol licence. The bar staff are supposed to keep everyone safe and ensure that no one get out of control, it’s a basic duty of care that they seem to be failing on. Sounds like a clown show

They were completely put off by the environment and hopefully I managed to persuade them that it really isn't a reflection of a lot of other clubs/meets. She was truly wide eyed at the d*unkenness.

Agree with no guarantees but an event full of couples and a small number of single guys and I think everyone would be fairly unlucky to not get to play if they wanted to. Switch that with a few couples and more single guys and things would be completely different unless it was a greedy girls night lol.

There is a slim chance of us getting to SQ this weekend, if we manage to, it will be interesting if any come over from WT again.

Think that was a badly thought out statement. As said nowhere guarantees play and a thought like that is astounding. Unfortunately that's why so many couples don't like single guy nights, it's not a brothel! It's got potential to be a good club if they get their act together. Just wacking the single guys price up probably not the best idea. Too many mistakes starting up for us makes it hard to recover trust. We hope to start hearing of more positive experiences and that actions have been taken as the Owners have said they would, showing they are a responsible club and a few more will try again for sure.

I have just been to chams for the evening, 32 pounds, loads of single guys , couples and single girls, great night. The single guys have the interpersonal skills to socialise, because they have to and are very popular, generally a respectful bunch. In general in the swinging community its couples that simply see a single bloke as a cock on legs,minimal effort to engage in chat, single guys are there to do a job and leave...the couples are the ones that have the brothel mentality ...in my opinion...

I dont know that WT is like that just new and not really sure what they're doing.

Its shame cos we need a better club scene down here.

My concern is if something does go wrong and their license gets pulled, this will put councils off allowing clubs

I have been in 2 minds as to give WT a go or not. I was a regular at Secrets and loved it. Was just such a good atmosphere, lovely friendly like minded people, and staff were friendly. Chris and Teresa seemed to of got it right, but they had been doing it for 17 years. I never felt it was a club, I always thought of Secrets as the best house party, with sex if you wanted. I never once saw any trouble or d*unks, everyone was respectful of each other.

Im just not getting a warm fuzzy feeling reading about WT. It seems to be quiet chaotic and not managed well.

I know things happen that are out of our control, but to run out of booze.... there is the cash and carry. Staff being pinged.... there are agencies. People travelled from all over the country to go to Secrets and would spend the weekend here. If people were even travelling from Cornwall and got WT to find it cancelled they would be pretty P'd off. I hope they can turn it around for all our sakes.

I have gone to leave a review twice, but both times changed my mind as did not want to come across as negative, but its my opinion so here goes.

I paid £40 entry fee on the opening night which was fine as i knew going in that was the price so no problem, next night however entry fees had been slashed in half as they got it into their heads that Steamers had changed their prices to undercut them which as far as I know is untrue. I like some dont want to pay for a membership as I never know when I can attend so paying a monthly fee does not work for me. I got the impression that would not change yet a few weeks later it has changed again to now you can be a non paying member? I was also told all are welcome, but now learn most Saturdays will be couples only so again no way I am paying a monthly fee when I cant go on the busy day. I have read a lot of reviews on here also about the drinking and I also shared the same concerns about the doormen situation. Its a lovely club, but maybe stick to the same rules from the start and dont keep chopping and changing.

Unfortunately think they have been rather nieve and not done their research prior to opening and that has added to their continuous changes. Also made some very bad choices in quite a few departments. Not the best way to build confidence and certainly understand the single guys point of view. The club itself is definitely the best this far south now Secrets has sadly closed, that said not much else so really missing the opportunity of the potential it could have. Secrets it will never be but if they take on board the criticism, unfortunately of which there has been quite a bit, it could be successful. It's incredibly difficult to succeed and you have to be on top of your game. Not be price greedy, be simple, consistent and professional. Also understanding they are not in a big city so numbers won't be in the 100s every week. Like many we would like them to succeed but got to get things right before it's too late. If not already.

I messaged them asking why this was and over 24 hours later I am still waiting for a reply. Even though they have not been open for long they could already be putting people off for good. I was told going forward Pretty much every Saturday is couples only so most will be happy with that. Lets hope they behave themselves with the drinking and run a good club. It means I can never attend on a Saturday so no chance in hell I am signing up as a paying member so lets hope they dont blow the couples only night as they may need some of us single men who actually know how to behave at a club if they upset anymore couples.

As we understand they will be making changes to the membership, entry prices that will be more reasonable and having set nights on Thursday, Friday & Saturdays for singles, open nights and couples only nights. Not sure if couples only nights are also excluding singles females. Singles will obviously not be keen if every Saturday is exclusively for couples. Possibly will be a good idea to hold the couples nights twice a month and two Saturdays available for singles. Hopefully with this and a better professional approach the club will survive and show the potential that it does have. Really need to keep their website simple and updated. So much could ditch as not needed.

That's correct but if the "invited" singles continue to behave the way they did a couple of weeks ago, I can see D&S changing it to strict couples only.

There was a few very peeved people who found that now singles are allowed on the top floor, they couldn't get away from the followers/leerers.

"With Secrets now closed down there should be lots of Secrets refugees looking for a new home. Will be really interesting to hear how folk get on with this new club. Could this be THE new place to go.. Or maybe Steamers?

The listing says WT is "the country's first disabled friendly club" which I would dispute as Quest Leeds has always been fully wheelchair accessible and disabled friendly since it was opened about seven years ago.

It's annoying really, I've been to Swingers Quay on my own a few times now, had an enjoyable time, didn't leer at anyone or cause any issues, but now I feel like I can't go because I don't have any friends to invite me along. Shame really as it was about the only venue in a fairly sizable radius where I felt at least slightly welcome as a single guy. The first time I went nobody invited me upstairs but they did on subsequent occasions, so I guess that setup worked OK.

There's Taboo on the first Friday, which is open to everyone and is not really a BDSM event, more of a swingers/gay/bi/whatever night.

No Mercy Manor (NMM) is the Fetish/BDSM event which is on the second Friday of the month.

Be interesting to see feedback from tonight. Secret sinners are saying there are 40 single females and 50 couples booked in.

I went to the club on 28.08 with two friends male and female .. the club is brilliant the pool was great.. glory holes including female ones look so much fun.. but the three of us and maybe 4/5 other couples where all that were there .. there were others milling about but it was so quiet! Luckily we hit it off with a couple and another single female and the 6 of us just played all night.. towards the end of the night d*unk random guys seemed to be allowed in along with other locals who seemed to be having a look around.. including walking around freely and staying for drinks.. it wasn’t an atmosphere Iv ever come across in any club as a single girl I wasn’t comfortable and would have left if I didn’t have friends with me.. the staff however were lovely and it was fun before people were walking in off the street!

They are just not learning. I have read two reviews on the club section of Fab and it sounds like same old opinions. Staff rude, made up numbers of how many actually attended the event and doormen being a pain.

It's all a bit of a shame that this club looks like it has zero chance of success the way they are going. Then again maybe the sooner it closes the better. Not because it is not a good venue inside, it is! We find it incredibly worrying how it is being run. It's their club so it's upto them, but there is clear disregard for truth, honesty and most worrying the lack of responsibility. We personally have witnessed and experienced abuse of power by staff & supposed security, which caused us great concern regarding felling comfortable and safe. Luckily for us we are confident enough to know how to deal with these situations,

but for singles and less experienced couples within the scene this is a big concern. We have had numerous emails back and forth with the owners about our concerns and had assurances that these actions and situations were completely unacceptable and will be put right. From what we read and hear, sadly this does not appear to be the case. Trust is everything and in this club unfortunately and worryingly we have none. We thought they had taken our comments on board and given them, probably wrongly, time to put things right. One month on from when we raised these issues with them it is of great concern we are still hearing and seeing these comments and reviews.

Maybe they should bring in a booking system for single guys via a swingers site like fabswingers or other swingers site were they need at least one verification on their profile,and they book through a site with their profile which will give them cheaper entry into the club

Yeah can’t remember where I saw it but was either the Secret Sinners account or the main WT account. But they suggested that they needed more single guys in to balance things out and as such they dropped the price. If guys had already paid full price then they drop after they have paid then that’s not fair, and to suggest there was that many couples and single ladies when there clearly was not is baffling.

I get they have probably invested allot of money and they need to be making a profit so probably have allot of stress involved. But sounds like they are happy to be dishonest to get a few through the door and then shut up shop early dispute people paying out good money.

Not sure what we need to see improve the most before we think this is somewhere worth a visit? Reviews suggest SQ was busy last night so maybe people have picked the new location already. Can’t see WT lasting long as things stand.

Most clubs I think seem to strike a happy balance with numbers, if everyone is a member, the rules are clear, and you get the right sorts of gents , and have couples only nights as well...it all falls into place, chams is very busy on a Friday, lots of single gents (and ladies and couples) and a great atmosphere.

Saturday evenings are the couples only nights, all of the rest of the week its open to all and regulates itself really well I think. And its not that expensive for a single guy.

On site accommodation as well and many making a weekend of it...

Most of the negative comments seem to be from people who've not been to the club.

We went Saturday and it was really great. Facilities were excellent, the pool was lovely, loads of great equipment and toys in the dungeon, the playrooms super comfortable and the sauna was hot. Also, they have turned off the bright light on the glory hole area. There was a decent crowd of people, mostly couples with a few single girls and a couple of single guys. We had a lttle issue with one rather pushy single guy who I had to tell to f**k off as a simple no didn't seem to suffice, but that's normal IME. Other than that we had a really nice evening.

The staff we very cordial and helpful throughout the evening inc the doorman who seems to have recieved some criticism.

Sure there are some teething problems, and the staff seem to me to be learning on the job but there's a hell of a lot involved and they obviously have not done this before. I doubt there's a "Sex club training course" you can book on to.

All in all a great evening and when we left at 1am there was action going on in all the rooms, the pool and the dungeon. What's not to like?

We'll be going again as soon as we have another free night.

Agree there are a lot of comments on here from people that have not attended and it has also become a bit of a comparison thread with other clubs. Thread is supposed to be informative about this club and yes we have been there. Still sounds like it's definitely not a place for us. Even after lengthy discussions with the owners still seeing and hearing reoccurring comments regarding their honesty, professionalism and etticate within the club.

Not disputing your assessment and very glad to hear that you had a good evening but, by your own observations, the club or it's event organisers blatantly lied about about numbers of couples and single females in attendance. Think it said something like 40 single females & 20 couples. If that is not bad enough then to advertise a couple of hours into an event that they are going to reduce entry prices for single guys if you turn up after the event had started because you are over run with females! Haha come on, don't think many of us have ever been to a club with those kind of problems. Also what about those that have already paid full price? Trying to kid people that you are overflowing with single females and couples that desperately need more guys so you can make a bit more on door sales. Club reviews on this site are always going to be a bit sketchy because we all have a different desire or what appeals to us in a club, but one thing for sure, if it has a good vibe and atmosphere and professionally run it is stated in a review. If people have a good night then a review is more likely. People are more reserved from posting a bad review. If the club had as many guests at their last event as the event organisers said. "overflowing with couples and single females" don't you think that their review page would be bursting with great reviews. Sorry but do not trust anything about this club and that is a great shame because it did have potential!
