A bunch of people in a hot tub together is quite unhygienic, how do clubs ensure the cleanliness of these facilities?

They're cleaned and maintained better than most people's at home. The ones I've been in have a "shower first" rule, and they don't allow any activities that might result in unwanted fluids. That's good enough for me.

If the thought worries you that much you're probably better off avoiding using them

You do realise that most hot tubs you can’t play in at clubs and part of running hot tubs in venues is checking the PH balance every hour on the chlorine levels. VA for example have a natural filter system for there hot tubs.

Same with pools at venues. They have rules to be open with pools and hot tubs and part of that is making sure they are clean.

But hey if you think it’s soup then don’t go in!

If you’re that worried I suggest you don’t take a black light into any play areas

Do you go in hottubs at saunas?

Because they also have plenty of people in, and I’m sure it’s not always sweet and innocent too.

I worked in microbiology lab and tested hot tub water , if maintained correctly with biocides it’s safe , if not you would be surprised what grows in it , ask the club management , Pre Covid door handles / toilet flushers were the worst for cross contamination , if you wipe yer bum and flush it , it all gets left on flusher !
