Abfabs Just Not The Same Anymore

I think we might be the only ones to feel this way, but we had such high hopes for Abfabs after lockdown.

The old place was amazing, but the new one has totally lost its "razzle".

The swing rooms are never used, the gloryholes are open and not booted. There's literally nowhere for couple to go off with each other somewhere the entire club can't see.

The owners made some improvements, but they didn't concentrate them on the areas couples wanted them.

Example they opened up the dance floor, even though absolutely nobody goes Dancing!

I mean seriously?!

We just came back tonight, after the "beach event". Chatted with other couples that felt exactly the same. The place looks uninspiring and sad. Hardly anyone turned up.

Sadly afteramy years we just can't justify coming back again and will be going to Hellfire instead.

Heart broken really, the owners were sitting on a potential gold mine.

Either they start to listen to customers or they won't make it through the year.

No private rooms for couples to play?

You have 3 huts upstairs with windows to view

Downstairs one room near the smoking area, 4 rooms In The hot tub area one no windows and the large orgy room. two rooms round the corner past the pool and stairs which have no windows. (Massage room and orgy room).

10 lockable playrooms in total

1 large cinema

7 Gloryholes 8 if you include one in the hut

A darkroom

A play bench next to the darkroom

A Dungeon, play area and swings

A chill out sofa area with a play bed

A dance area

4 hot tubs

And a large pool

The area is certainly spread out but some large playrooms for 6-12 people plenty of 2-4 people playrooms.

At the old venue had far less rooms to play overall, and was also spread out.

I and my partner love the new venue especially the bed in the main area

Yes you can sign up online and it’s £10 per person for the year. You can do it at the venue but save time pre registering.

Opening night Friday and Saturday were rammed. And that’s saying something as 50 people in the venue makes it look empty

I don’t know how you didn’t find a private room to play; last Friday night I played with a guy in a locked room with no one watching…we tried two others first but they were in use!

Opening weekend was also very busy. Maybe you were just unlucky last night.

I don't think it's exclusive just to this venue. A lot of venues have the same problem, and not just in this particular niche. I think has knocked a lot of people's confidence either with catching spreading or just being away from the scene and people for so long. Hopefully in time things will improve. After all a good venue only adds to the fun, it's the people that make it great

That’s true and well said. There are a lot of people that watch but do not want to get involved. I think this will change but it will take time.

Totally respect your opinion, even if I don't agree, but the above statement is not true. There are at least two rooms people can go where nobody can see. Both are on the lower level - one is right by the door to the changing area, the other is next to the room with the massage chair and table.

Not been to the new one. It sounds vast. Maybe some of those maps they have in shopping centres with "you are here" and directions to the feature rooms would help those who aren't as familiar with its layout.

Actually it can feel a bit like a rabbit warren around the changing room area when you first go, but you soon get used to that. There are plenty of signs up directing where to go.

NONE OF THE ROOMS ARE PRIVATE its like fucking in a goldfish bowl.

The rooms downstairs are lite like operating theaters.

The gloryholes are not booted and NEVER USED because guys always wander around the back of them

The events night last night had hardly anyone attend and frankly we saw almost zero swinging.

We've just had a dozen pm's from couples saying they wouldn't go back.

And honestly, we are now one of them.

Sorry, just our opinion but it's gone to the dogs as far as we are concerned. If you have to travel more than a dozen miles it's just not worth the effort anymore.

4 lockable play rooms downstairs 1 with a dentist chair. Saturday nights is couples and single ladies so there should not of been guys hanging around by themselves. I did not see any single guys last night.

Shame you feel like that I had a great time and had quite a lot of fun last night.

Horses for courses.

Must admit there are clubs out there that I don't like. But that's my preference but I won't slate them as we all want these clubs to succeed

The old Kestrels venue was a naturist spa that developed into a swingers club. The new one is more integrated between a spa and a club. It hasn't even been reopened 2 weeks and you're writing it off? People are still nervous of mingling in club situations plus, travel or not, its the summer holidays so people are doing other things.

Like anything, give it time to settle and develop.

Truth is we've been dozens of times prior to lockdown and it was getting worse and less people back then.

So it's not the case we haven't given it a chance.

Fro. Our point of view, it has just totally lost its mo Jo.

Last night was the last straw for us, hardly anyone there, the changes they made were completely devoid of any actual practical purpose. The staff are really pretty doleful and it's started to represent a school gym converted to a 1970s school disco feel to it.

Basically unsexy and pretty tasteless.

So we are moving on.

But that's just our opinion, I'm sure many will love it.

We went on Friday and it was pretty quite, was expecting it to be busier. but we saw nothing happening and the usual single men doing circles looking for action.

Kat was put off relaxing and enjoying it as much as the last time we went to the old place. There were plenty of play rooms but no one was using them and when we went into the area where they were we were followed in by several men.

We will go back but probably on a greedy girls night as there is more action.

What are you basing this statement on? Did you contact all other venues?

Sweeping generalisation.

Some restaurants have been booked out for the last couple of weekends and some haven't- same kind of situation with Ab Fabs and other clubs

Let's indulge you for a moment - what changes do you think are needed to bring back the old Ab Fabs spark and vibe?

Hello "Invisible Man"

We know because we looked at booking them, and as members of a half dozen or so clubs we receive email updates.

That's what we are basing our "statement" on.

Does that answer your question?

I never got the opportunity to go to the old AbFabs / Kestrels and I went just once to the new Kestrels July 2019 at the time I felt it was very big but had the potential to be something really nice.I think it’s important that a club listens to feed back as there is a possibility there future could depend on it unless they are doing so well it which case if it is working for them then why fix it.

I've just submitted my online membership and I cant wait to get back. Was hoping to go today but had to work. Desperately trying to work out when I can next go.

Never been brave enough to try the glory holes in the past. Shall need to rectify that. Then again I just get sidetracked by the cinema.

Always found a good mix of public and private rooms dependant on my mood. Certainly more choice than some other clubs I've been to. Looking forward to seeing what changes they've made.

One thing that you can`t compare to the old one, is the outdoor places, sunbeds, pool, and hot tubs.

It made the old place super unique, whether if it was a hot summer afternoon enjoying the sun, chilling in the pool in a dark night under the stars, or even sitting in the steam of a hot tub on a cold winter day... I just loved that place. I even loved that little village pub, where I went to watch football on Friday nights between the daytime and evening parties... Getting those strange looks from locals who probably all knew, why I`m there, especially as my hair was wet, haha! And you got this rural atmosphere in 15 minutes walk from the T5 underground, it was that venue was second to none!

But sadly it`s gone. I`ve been twice in the new venue pre-covid, I think it`s as great as an indoor spa can be, but again, you can`t compare the two.

All the rest are about the crowd, not the venue. And to be honest, due to those two visits, I found the general crowd in LeBoud more attractive, but LB has been called bad names too for it`s membership policy in other threads of this forum, so you clearly can`t please all... :D

So we have been a couple of times during day and once Friday night. We can't compare as we never went to the old club but we love the place. It has been quiet every time we have been and look forward to seeing it full at some point but the point is the people are friendly and the surroundings are relaxing pool amazing, hot tubs hot but in fairness large areas do seem unused which is a shame. Mr B thinks Friday night had too many single males ratio compared to couples but intend to try a couple night on Saturday to see the difference. It's all down to preference really xx

Loved the old one, enjoyed the new one quite a few times pre COVID, looking forward to going back soon. I agree it’s not the club but the people that make a good visit, but Ab Fabs has lots to recommend it. Also love Hellfire and (shock horror) Rios also one of my favourite places. All different but all great

I’m not affiliated to the club at all.

I was referring to the opening weekend, which was the week before that and was rammed both nights.

I never said there was 50 couples I suggest you re-read my post.

I’m merely pointing out that as the club is so big 50 people scattered around the club makes you feel the club seems empty.

But hey I’m sure others can read and make there own judgement, especially as your other post was raving you can’t wait for it to open.

After all some nights are hit and miss, that’s clubs. But Sunday at Kestrels’s was fabulous

No I didn’t go Saturday night as overslept, so I don’t know what it was like this weekend gone but I did the weekend before Which was busy. Which is what I was referring too. Again if you had read my reply.

Again just pointing out that even with 50 people that’s 50 people spread across both floors it can seem empty when it’s not.

Plus as I know a few that did attend felt different.

But each to their own.

I think the club is great and has great facilities and the team have worked had over the past few years to create it for us. We now need to support them. It has been mentioned that not many people have attended, that's probably something to do with the world wide pandemic but by putting negative comments on here will only serve to put others from attending. Any club is only as good as its members.

Again, this is inaccurate. I get your opinion is your opinion, fine, but at least keep it factual please.

The room next door to that with the (admittedly old and well worn) massage table can be locked and has no windows.

The room nearest the main changing area entrance is also lockable. It has a window but the twice I've been there (incl. Saturday) since reopening has had a cover over the inside, so it is impossible to see in.

And no, I'm not affiliated to the club.

Agree completely… we weee so disappointed. It’s huge and empty, who needs a 200 people disco room or also e du grin kit in a brightly lit hlsss walled gym? Jacuzzis are too small just 4 people in each so you plink a single guy in and it’s then not available for couples play. The whole thing was just ….not sexy

You've just made my point entirely. The two rooms you mentioned are absolutely bloody awful, cold, lighting is like a operating theatre, old and musty. No music. We would rather fuck in a skip.

But if you like that sort of thing, good luck.

Simple answer

If you don’t like it don’t go again,

Yes you have an opinion and can say what you like on a public forum but to continually moan and winge is tiresome

It’s like the Catherine Tate sketch

Ooooh here we go again they’re at it again

Err, no. You have now added in aspects that you didn't mention before and I certainly didn't say anything about. I only alluded to my opinion that I think it's time that old massage table/bench was replaced with something decent and new. I was responding to your bold assertion that there were no rooms that were completely private, which was (and still is) factually incorrect.

As I've said already, I totally respect your opinion and your right to voice it in a public forum, but try to keep it factual.

I don’t think you can really compare Ab fabs to hellfire considering the space difference is huge! We went to hellfire on Saturday night and it was very quiet so def not sold out with couples mainly socialising we didn’t see any play going on at all and left early as the atmosphere wasn’t great but had a great night there on the Friday and we do love the club so it just depends on the crowd and how comfortable people are feeling and in my opinion the theme nights do make a difference to putting people off but it’s just how it is at the moment with people dipping their toes back into it, we went to ab fabs last Friday and had a great night I agree it’s a big space to fill but it’s early days. We will def be returning to Ab fabs as I love the pool and the cinema and always seem to come out with a big smile on my face! Although we don’t attend couples nights so can’t compare there.

Although not a medically sanctioned view I like Abfabs at the moment precisely because it will be difficult to pack.

I have been Wednesday last week and yesterday so as a single man I have put my money where my mouth is. Hellfire may have changed since I was last there but I don't think it has a pool or jacuzzi or sauna, and I say that as a member of Hellfire. Plus, I was never fond of Hellfire's dungeon from an impact play point if view.

I have just commented on the thread on Eurekas.

If people don't like a club there are a few others to attend such as LeBoudier, Pleasure, VA, Jaydees, the Vicarage in Sutton, and Liberty Elite, so you can vote with your feet.

But compared to other countries we have too few swinging clubs, they are (like fetish clubs) a rare item and I don't care which one people go to but support one and don't whinge about the others.

How was Sunday? Was it busy? m/f ratio? Approx number of ladies/couples?

I`m thinking about going for a chilled afternoon this Sunday, and though the facilities are great anyway, if there are pretty ladies around to chat with (and maybe more?) that makes a big difference.

There are some very unpleasant people about. Just had a pm from a newbie couple to the lifestyle who are going to the club for the first time saying that they had received a message from someone (no names no pack drill) trying to put them off going.

Nasty.

If you don’t like the club, don’t go but to stoop to these depths is just despicable and reprehensible

Suitable advice given.

Wasn't there a lot of negativity when it was looking to open, even denial from some that it was anything but fantasy?

But it opened.

Give it time to reestablish a norm and then if anyone doesn't like it, attendance will not be mandatory, so they can take their custom elsewhere.

Personally, we prefer to judge anything for ourselves. We were there on Saturday and enjoyed ourselves, chatted with some and left just before 2.

We will definitely be back.

Don’t worry it certainly wasn’t yourselves, a well known couple who were banned have set up a new account to spam people with nasty messages who support a club.

Everyone’s untitled to an opinion, whether it’s right or wrong in other people’s eyes. If people don’t like a vibe of an event then so be it.

No big deal.

Over the years I’ve tried many clubs, usually try most twice before passing judgement incase it was a bad night. There are clubs I wouldn’t go to again which are run down and dirty. But what I find is lacking atmosphere or is in need of a deep clean may appeal to others.

Clubs can be hit and miss, opening nights for many were rammed. Following weekend not so much, but it’s all about the people who go. Most couple nights for example at many venues, is no action and lots of peacocking. If that’s your thing so be it, but like most I enjoy watching or joint in the action if invited. My partner is the same, we like having fun and with a group of friends you always do, no matter what the club is like

Oh I have nothing against people replying privately to a comment rather than writing on a public forum. The point I am making is and what I do have an issue with is trolls sending unsolicited pm’s to people with the deliberate intention of trying to put them off going to a club. They were not responding to a post or a persons opinion. Their agenda was clear and it certainly wasn’t to offer friendly advice. As Mark has said, many of us know who these particular low life’s are.

I went sunday first time after lockdown and took a +1 i know very well. We had a great time. Yes the male ratio was high but we still had a great time. We certainly played in the rooms and GH.

Personally i am a bit weary of playing with other people though just the covid risk but happy to play by ourselves and be watched.

We enjoyed it so much that we went back on Monday. Again during the day it was male heavy and you get the wanderers 'wanking zombies' but we still had a great time. There was ourselves and another couple playing in the dungeon and we got quite a crowd.

Each to their own and all that. We will definitely be back again xx

Exactly this. We were there on Saturday too and although there wasn’t a great deal of play going on between couples there were still people having fun. Including us.

We have never been to the new abfabs venue, and maybe we won't ever. But reading through the numerous rants on this thread, really does make me think that there is probably something more behind all this, otherwise the aurhers would have ranted and gone, instead of almost trying too hard to get their point over.

If we decide we don't like a venue, we as a couple just don't go there again, problem solved.

Just popping being a hours drive after we had arranged sitters for the kids. When we got there we were told need two covid jabs proffs which is not a problem but we didn't have on us so they said download the app which we did. And then turns out takes up to 7 days to verify who you are ffs. Why can't they put a message on their site if they require all this as it fucked our whole evening up and we probably won't bother again there now due to their lack of communications. No wonder some clubs struggle shouldn't be in business we made every attempt to contact them fucking hopeless private meets and hotels could be the way forward

Not entirely sure why it took you 7 days to be identified? I took a picture of myself and was verified within an hour and had my passport thing just after. Husband was different story though as he doesn't have any photo id anywhere so took him a little longer (and be only just had his second jab so passport thingy only went live yesterday).

I submitted my application on the Tuesday, went on the Friday, renewed my membership, showed them my NHS covid jab card and was allowed in.

There was a couple there who they refused to allow in, because she didn't have any proof of having had any covid jabs. I thought that was the right thing to do.

Similar for me. I filled out the online application forms for both Kestrels and Abfabs on a Monday evening. Got the automatic email confirmations almost immediately. Went on the Wednesday two days later with photo ID and proof of double vaccination as directed (just the card was needed) and went in. Simple.

Didn't at any stage get the impression I needed to contact them in between, however I do think that point could have been made a little more explicit clear on the automatic email reply for the avoidance of doubt - i.e. next step is to show up on your first visit with the relevant ID and vaccination proof or negative PCR test within 24 hours.

blimey its such a simple process , went armed with 2 things that most clubs need for a membership at this current time - my Vacination proof and a form of photo ID , then filled the forms out in the Foyer in 2 minutes , presented my ID and a few minutes later i was in the club enjoying the facilities

, no it hasn't got any outside space but inside its fantastic, what they need is to get busier so rather than slagging the club off why not suggest a few things they can do to get more people through the door and encourage others to go then it will be a really nice busy club

Clearly states on the website what is required re proof of having been jabbed for Covid before entry is permitted. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Schimples. The club is only doing the responsible thing in trying to protect everybody as far as they can. It will become law next month anyway.

Incidentally last night was brilliant. The place was really busy and from what we observed a lot of people were having a lot of fun. Don’t be put off by the negative comments. As the saying goes - you can’t please all of the people all of the time. If you want to go - go. If you don’t - dont. Again - Schimples. Obviously everybody has their own opinions. Don't understand someone complaining about a club for 7 days...that they have no intention of going back to again

Would you be arsed in fairness

Move on and try another club

It must have been busy that time. There is an overflow car park at the back

Have to say we love Abs it’s our first choice of venue, staff always friendly, clean, with every facility you may wish for, we’ve never had a bad night, it could be because we make the effort to talk to people instead of just sitting in a corner, We know sometimes it may seem a little quiet, but that just maybe people in there rooms having lots of fun or taking a breather and in the pool, or jacuzzis, Russ and Tash are doing there upmost for staff and family’s and all us pervs to stay safe during this mad time that we are hopefully coming out of, personally if it’s a case an extra check at the door to make sure everyone is vaccinated or an updated negative PCR, it makes us feel reassured, and once through them doors it’s Party Party Party, us swingers all all need responsible clubs like Abfabs, they are putting our safety first, keep up the great work, and see you soon x

"Clearly states on the website what is required re proof of having been jabbed for Covid before entry is permitted.

We can only speak as WE find.

Just had a couple we k ow very well email us and say the complete opposite.

Last night was another wash out.

I understand your sentiment towards the club, but it's ridiculous you openly lying about it to try and deliberately deceive couples into going.

Bit of honesty wouldn't go amiss. Same with the countless single males trying to big the place up to get couples going."

Hahaha. You lied on a previous post by saying no private rooms and single guys on a Saturday night. Time you gave it a rest.

If you don't like it suggest you find a different forum

I'll give it a rest when I want to thanks. As far as the single guys.. You mean the guys that turn up with "friends" that are clearly cheap hookers and then leave them to sit alone while they try and fuck somone else's wife in the darkroom?

Oh yeah, sorry not single guys at all lmao!

"

NONE OF THE ROOMS ARE PRIVATE its like fucking in a goldfish bowl.

.

You've just made my point entirely. The two rooms you mentioned are absolutely bloody awful, cold, lighting is like a operating theatre, old and musty. No music. We would rather fuck in a skip.

But if you like that sort of thing, good luck."

Ohh suddenly there are now private lockable rooms but they are cold and awfull... hmmm i thought there were no private lockable rooms??

I think the OP are affiliated to a competitor club and merely lying to tarnish abfabs so people troop to other clubs... if not why would they lie about being no private lockable rooms and when they are called out for their apparent and disgusting lie they then quickly change and say ohh.. there are now private lockable rooms but they are cold... ermmm.... guess we should just make a club that completely suits them with all they want.

My advice.. OP since u know everything.. why not just start a club that would please everyone... its easy to take advantage of a public forum and write shit than doing it yrself... go on... start one

Move on if u dont like a club.. otherw might.. by coming here to lie puts others off and thats not fair..
