Well as your travelling from Scotland you'll travel past a few clubs, most notably Infusions in Blackpool, No 3 in Chorley, Partners in Bury and then down to Cupids in Swinton and Adam & Eves in Eccles, the latter 2 being a short taxi ride from Manchester city centre.
If you were heading down as far as Birmingham there's Atlantis Evolution and Adventures in Stoke, Chams in darleston and Xtasia in West Brom (J1 of M5)
Having finished the geography trip, my comments would be as follows, the clubs I don't mention are ones I either haven't been too or don't know anyone personally that has been.
Cupids, I've not been since it was taken over but friends whom have rate the club highly following an extensive refurbishment. It has some unique features like a dogging room and a Camera room which can only be seen in the club. It's been a couple of years since I last went and back then it was a good club, so the improvements will only make it better. It is a towel club so you'll get undressed on arrival, ladies wearing normally various formats of sexy undies and guys towels or shorts.
Adam & Eves - A small club over 3 floors which is also a towel club. It's more basic than many clubs but has sveral play areas, 2 private rooms, a pool table and jacuzzi/sauna and I am a member of this club. It's friendly, has a good mix of couples and single guys & girls and is probably te least clicky club that I've been to. That's down to a combination of the hosts and the regulars of the club.
Atlantis Evolution - Everything I hear about this club, except from 1 couple I know has been positive. It's a nightclub style club and again relatively small over 2 floors. I hear it's really busy on Friday nights (mixed) and Saturday nights (couples only) though I haven't been recently, I have been inside the club once on a party night and it was crammed full of people. It has a busy dance floor and seems to be the place to socialise before you play.
Xtasia - recently taken over about 3 months ago and has had a sizable renovation done, with more to do. It's also a nightclub style club and the club is huge. Fridays are mixed, saturdays couples only and theres a good Premier Inn less than 1 minutes walk from the entrance. I have to admit to really liking this club and I am a member of it. Because it's so big, it can sometimes seem quiet when theres actually 100 people in the club, but having said that I've always had fun both socially and in playing in this club.
In general, it's impossible to say how busy a club might be on any gven Friday night, they are all a bit quieter in the school holiday season and yet many reviews say each club is busy.
In no particular order the clubs I either visit or intend too before the end of the year are Adam & Eves, Atlantis, Cupids and Xtasia. Adam & Eves is a bit different to the other 3 but all to me seem great clubs.
