Hi all.

My wife and I frequent (or will be when it opens again) Atlantis Evolution, Stoke.

We like this as it is a night club / dance / bar feel, with the added sexy extras.

We have also visited Xtasia, West Brom, which is similar, but bigger.

9 times out of 10, we will be using AE with the idd Xtasia visit, however, we often go for hotel nights away around the country so visiting other clubs is a possibility.

Therefore, can people advise on what type of club each one is.

From what I read, Chams is a more hardcore, dress down, sauna type establishment, which is not for us.

I read here places like Angels, VA, Fusion etc.. but it would be helpful to know whether they are club type places, or, sauna types.

Hope you can help.

A

Bebington, wirral

Townhouse on Wirral is a great club to visit if you're looking for these things. It has a lovely well stocked bar, which is great for chilling out and meeting people.A fabulous lounge/ music room, with amazing art work, where you can dance the night away, as well as some fantastic play rooms The club itself is really well run, spotlessly clean and you don't have to dress down immediately or even at all if you stay on the ground floor.

Check out their website for more info and some pics

We're heading to the townhouse in July so it's good to hear such a glowing review.

Also heading to xtasia for our first visit this month

The Attic, Derby is probably your type of club.

No dress down rule, huge club with dance floor, 2 poles, hot tub, cinema & loads of play rooms.

Glad you have posted this. Me and my husband are complete newbies to the club scene.

We want to go but don't know if the hard-core ones would be a good starting point. Lol

Sorry. No help. But following your post.

I'm no expert ..liberty elites has a smart bar and dance area which starts off fully clothed at least ...

I would say that chams bar social area, whilst dress down is very social, you can sit and drink and chat and not hard core. I was nervous about the dress down aspect but its surprising how quickly you get used to it...

I would echo this, not saying it is for everyone as nowhere is, but we have been numerous times and just spent the night in the bar area chatting before a jacuzzi. It has the opportunity of being hardcore but only if that’s what you are looking for.

We're the same, we don't go to dress down clubs. The Attic may suit you. Club Play is dress down upstairs to the playrooms but not downstairs. Jaydees is on our list, we believe that's not dress down. All of those are take your own drinks too.

The attic in derby is more a nightclub with play areas, rather than full on hardcore. No dress down rule, good size danfloor, with dj. Large seating area around the dance floor. Bring your own booze

‘Hardcore’ is perhaps the wrong choice of descriptor. No Club ever expects that everyone will ‘play’. The venue is there to enable people to indulge if they wish, either with their own Partner or others if they have decided they want to. This isvtrue, whether it is a dress down/spa party or adress up/nightclub type party.

Out of preference, we go for Clubs that have more of a nightclub feel, that lets us make the effort to dress up & to enjoy others who do the same. For us VA, Angels, Decadent Nights, Secrets, OP4f & Xtasia all fit the bill. We want to try Townhouse, Purple Mamba and Liberty some time soon as they are similar and have great feedback.

We aren’t against Clubs like Chams, in fact we do plan to go someday, but the dressing up is a huge draw for us, especially as we’ve not been able to for 18momths plus now

It is always hard to advise people on which Club to go to. In our experience great Clubs can also have quiet nights, or just nights where you don’t click with anyone. So, our advice is go to a Club that takes your fancy, let them now you are new, possibly go expecting not to play at first, talk over with your partner what you both find acceptable & smile at & talk to people. Just because you say hi to someone, does not mean that you want to shag them

Notts/Derby

We’ve been to Purple Mamba & the Attic and like both for different reasons. We’d recommend both of them.

Mamba is definitely a good reason to dress up. Still wondering how it will go with the CMnf night at the end of the month. It would feel funny me in a three piece suit and Vixen in the buff. Although, we both usually end up naked by the end of the night anyway but that’s just the way we play.

Likewise we'd say Purple Mamba maybe something to consider. Is a smaller but classy club (without being snooty). The atmosphere is smart, intimate, yet relaxed and very friendly. The ambience in the lounge is a perfect space to socialise and get acquainted with others. And upstairs has a nice selection of spaces for turning up the heat. And as said above a visit is a nice excuse to dress up.
