Anyone know anything about how the clubs are doing.

Could they furlough, how are they and are they surviving?

It will be a shame after all of this is over if most clubs have folded.

Will it be different or just the same.?

I’m helping my local club, along with other members , making monthly donations to help them ticking over, trying to keep them going until we can enjoy their venue once again.

All clubs are in different positions.

Some own their buildings, others lease. Some have staff on furlough, others don't. Some are limited companies, others are sole traders. Some have received funding, others haven't. Some were in a good financial position prior to closure, others had done massive refurbs or took on new buildings right before closure.

So as you can see, as with any industry, we are all in different positions, which will establish how well they will fair during the restrictions.

A large number of clubs have come together to help each other through with ideas and moral support. It's been really helpful to bounce off ideas and this has been a huge eye opener for me in that we all operate so differently!

Some of us are doing fundraising to get through as the funding has been poor or sporadic. You can see what each club is doing on their websites as we can't advertise our current position on here.

Some club owners will decide to cut their losses and close, as some cubs are bleeding money out of the walls while they are closed, especially the leased properties. At the end of the day, there are people and lives behind these businesses and nobody wants to struggle through and end up with a massive debt, so if they close, it won't be done lightly and it will be for the right reasons.

If people really want to get onboard with the #saveourclubs then you need to contact your local club or check out their websites for their current position and if they are doing fundraising. They may be looking for practical support, as in labouring for example.

Some clubs are very quiet on here but it doesn't mean they are closing or struggling; they could just be taking time out from Fab as a lot of the club facilities on here have been disabled. So please don't assume they are closing.

What we don't need is speculation and negativity. We know the reality of our situation, we don't need to be reminded by certain people on every club related thread. We need positive energy and excitement about the future of clubs. A lot of us feel that the comments on here have been kicking us while we are down...another reason why some clubs have left the site.

So stand with us and support us in anyway you can. Please don't drag us down further
