This is where the club review system fails. You have every right to post a good or bad review based on your experience at any club, although hopefully such a review is objective.
For example if the club is unclean in your opinion, or somethings not working when you visit and you weren't aware of that prior to your visit, then you should post it. Cupids in Manchester and Xtasia in West Brom have both made people pretty well aware via the forums or on their websites that the clubs are being refurbed and some things aren't available at certain times.
If however, your experience is a guy coming on to you, and he stopped after you said no, or if a guy wanted sex bareback and you/couple/female refused, then to me thats not a reason to give a club a bad review, unless ofcourse that person caused you a big problem that you reported to staff and nothing was done to resolve the issue.
Grey areas would be comments about decoration, or facilities or too many singles in the club, as one couple may think the amount of singles is fine and another couple too many while a third may think not enough. Theres a large thread for example on Adam & Eves where some people clearly don't like the place and others do, some citing too few facilities though the club does actually have all the facilities it advertises, and they all work (most of the time) so it would be wrong to fault the club in a review for not having perhaps a dance floor when it doesn't suggest it has one.
I have left a few club reviews, and I'd never expect to get a bad message back from anyone, although I'd welcome a message back from the club management/owners wanting clarification of my issue so that they had the oppotunity to address it, that to me would be good practice because they'd be trying to do something to make the place more appealing to me, and this is aptly demonstarted by the new owners of Xtasia whom have taken on board what people have said, eg can wine and beer be served in glass glasses rather than plastic or bottle, the answer being yes to it being in a plastic glass, the reason for plastic so that if it's dropped people won't get hurt by broken glass.
I also hate it when there are multiple reviews from the same person/couple for one club. I know Fab admin have done something on this, but personally I would only allow 1 review per person per quarter about a club as that is more than adequate to give an accurate informative picture of the place.
Sorry for the long post, I hope you keep adding honest reviews of any club you visit as I often read them especially before deciding to go to a new club. |
