"It has a Birmingham postcode"

Not necessarily relevant - lots of places have post codes not related to where they're physically located.

I have a Birmingham post code but actually live in Worcestershire. I went camping at the end of last month and the site had a Derby post code, was technically in Ashbourne but was actually close to the middle of nowhere.

We'll see during this week, I suppose, if anything has changed

When Bradford locked down everywhere with a Bradford postcode was locked down, including places like Menston which pay council tax to Leeds.

Even if it was affected by the stricter measures, the new rules only apply to households mixing in private residences.

"When Bradford locked down everywhere with a Bradford postcode was locked down, including places like Menston which pay council tax to Leeds. "

In which case it'll be interesting to see how this plays out

Certainly where I live we have our own town council and local county authorities which are completely independent of Birmingham's, and I can't see them being told what to do by another authority.

But whatever happens it probably won't affect me that much one way or the other, to be honest

People living in lockdown areas can go in a pub but they must only talk to people in their own household or bubble, no one else.

I was pointing out that the lockdown rules don't just relate to private residences as you said. They also affect the socialising between local residents in pubs and clubs.

The new lockdown rules for Sandwell are regarding households, the general rules affect socialising in pubs etc, that's the new rule of 6, you mentioned specifically the Birmingham/Sandwell lockdown which is targeting private residences.

As ridiculous as it may seem take a look at this from Birmingham City council. You can’t meet your family in their home or garden. You CAN meet your family in a pub or restaurant as long as there are no more than 6 of you.

"I take it it's socially distanced, no play outside your social bubble?"

No, it's socially distanced, no play at all purely social. All explained on the club website. Purely open as a social venue for members only with track and trace in place as you have to be a member to attend.

If you read any of the threads here on FAB since they've reopened it states no serial contact and there isn't even 'dress down' at the moment. It's purely a place for like minded adults to meet and get to know others for future meets when social distancing has been relaxed.

We will be open, and spending the week working out how we get swingers to remain socially distanced to groups of 6.

We will only be allowing groups of 6 or less in and tables will be set out for groups of 6 maximum, with the 2 meter distancing in place between them.

We will be asking all attendees to dramatically reduce their contacts during the evening, and are trying to come up with other ways of allowing people to express an interest in others, for example phone number swapping facilitated by staff etc.

We are also working flat out to find ways of dealing with Test and Trace that work for everyone coming to the club.

Will update our web site with all new info as soon as we have decided how to handle everything, please keep your eyes on our covid-update page on the club web site.

Just to check, if we come along as a couple will we be seated with up to 4 other people or will we be sat on our own? We like the idea of coming along to chat with others and make contacts for the future but will be difficult to do that if we are just sat on our own. Thanks for everything that you guys are going, I know it can’t be easy!

But they can open AND follow the rules. I think before you say with conviction that people are breaking the rules you should at least have evidence or have witnessed it yourself, instead you've just decided that they aren't following the rules.

There's something called libel, maybe you should look it up before making such comments.

Which is exactly what the owners of Xtasia are attempting to do.

At very short notice, in very challenging circumstances and to illogical and poorly thought out government guidelines.

I don't think it's beneficial for any of us to second guess how the owners are going to manage the new guidance here.

Xtasia stated earlier on this thread that they will post further information as soon as they can. Until then, let's support them by not speculating. Guidance will be adhered to and that's all there is to it. How that guidance is applied is down to the owners, the local authority and PHE.
