Pre Swingfest - Sat Night Takers ?

Thinking of travelling up on the Sat instead of on the festival morning (as it’s a long trip), question is anyone else going up on the Sat and are planning a Hull night out on the Sat night ?

Just wondered if there’s a few I may change my hotel for Sat night too !

We are travelling up the Saturday also but not sure what time we will be in Hull.

We don’t plan on a late one but you never know what could happen to start the weekend off

Can’t see any sleep in us & finding space in the bed might be tricky!

Cancelled my trip to Hu9 this weekend due to spike of COVID19 which result most part of North England. Latest news update came in last night. Most areas likely to affect as it says on the news is North of England.

Hull isn’t subject to the extra rules - not yet anyway. We’ve had a doubling of cases in the last week so it it continues we probably will.

Nice to see the BBC reporting in a biased northern bashing way.. Don't forget much of the north is much less densly populated than the south so less transmission risk.. Unless you live in a city which has high ethnic majority with multi generational living

You are wise not to in my opinion.

As admirable as the organisers are in going to great lengths to protect people putting distancing measures in place there is no way of controlling what happens after. People are people and there are lots out there that will be hooking up in hotels etc completely ignoring social distancing.

Have you been dealing with covid longer than the rest of us? as you have Had no meets in three years!

"As it’s almost certain that parts of Greater Manchester are heading into an enhanced lockdown I’ve taken the tough but correct decision to opt out early. I would hate to compromise the integrity of such a well planned event.

Therefore I have a single male ticket for sale, filters are off. "

That’s very decent of you, it’s a shame the guest list has a number travelling from Manchester who aren’t doing likewise. In fact it seems quite strange the organisers haven’t told those living here they aren’t allowed to attend as it’s a clear breach of our local lockdown.

You can try a fumble a joke but actually it doesn’t avoid the point the organisers know several people are travelling in from lockdown areas who aren’t allowed the same relaxation as those living in Hull.

They’ve always maintained they are sticking closely to and working to maintain the national guidelines yet it seems in reality when it comes to cash they turn a blind eye.

And before you say how do they know where people live... they confirmed they had track and trace info collected so, no issue to contact those in high infection areas and ask them to stay away.

"Sorry if I sound niave but what is swingfest? "
From what I have read on here it is an annual swingers festival held in the carpark outside HU9 in Hull but this year it will be socially distanced. There is an open sided marquee, a food van, a licensed bar, portaloos, a stage with Pink and Magic Mike tribute acts. In the evening a maximum of 50 guests can go inside the club.

Are you going to swingfest pabs? If not then I’m sure you don’t have to worry about it, again social distancing and rules apply at swingfest, which again is out in the open, now can you hand on heart say you have not been out in a bar of recent for a drink?? The pubs are jam packed these days no social distance no masks, again so why is swingfest such a bid deal to everyone ???

The whole pub comparison is way off. Pubs aren’t enticing people to travel from the four corners of the UK (some areas that are in lockdown) to attend a swinging event.

This is happening anyway accross the UK. Especially during the school holiday period.

The numbers attending the event are irrelevant compared to larger amount of people moving around the UK and abroad.

"It may have been a fumble joke but then someone has to make light of a decent thread where you are constantly pushing your point of view regarding an even you have zero interest in attending.

You have made your point perfectly clear over and over again and now you should be grown up enough to let other grown ups make their own decision on what they want to do.

You have seen the involvement that HU9 and the Swingfest organisers have posted regarding sticking to a set of rules agreed to by themselves and various official bodies so please do us all a favour and let all of your previous posts do your talking for you.

You are repeating yourself to the point of being ignored now rather than having any effect on others.

I am certain you have not been to the club post covid whereas others have and have seen the restrictions that have put in place so without that first hand knowledge, you are in no position to comment and as well as the post above stating about the dungeon you have been attending, please let this be your lot Charli.

Peace out x"

There’s an ongoing commentary over Swingfest, there’s been plenty of updates, changes in lockdown etc... why would anyone make one post and then leave it there, it’s a discussion forum? I think in truth it’s like the reply to any of the ‘concerned’ posts... we don’t have an answer because we can in reality see the flaws our own standpoint so please just don’t post.

I have plenty of friends on scene, a number have visited the club post “social opening”, all have confirmed play is “discreetly happening”. None of us are dumb, Swingfest in or away from the venue will have a lot of play going on and then a few hundred people mixing together for a Prolonged period of time, it’s a crazy level of risk for infection. There’s a real question of “responsibility” in all of this and wether it’s the size of the event, the looking the other way or indeed ignoring those travelling in from high risk areas it illustrates a management team who actually care very little beyond their own takings.

If (and it is an if) there was an outbreak at the event, that has a real knock on for our community, it would make all swingers look like a complete bunch of selfish c&@ts to be blunt, it could severely hamper other clubs taking a very cautious approach as I’m sure they would suffer any penalties imposed on such establishments as a result.

People keep citing masses on the beach, illegal raves etc... you’re all right, these are idiotic. What’s sad though is you just use it as justification for your own brand of idiotic.

As for yours and the ladies insinuations, give over. I can confirm I have zero plans to organise a swing festival for a few hundred people anytime soon.

Delivering veiled threats then saying peace out doesn’t make for a reasoned answer.

Regards

Charli x

Well said .

But those that are going don't seem to be listening

There actions could effect the many

Does it matter as long as they have had a good time that's all there thinking and like you say traveling from all over maybe some from areas of high risk and in lockdown may be.

Also there's no way after a few drinks with the amount of people there there will be social distancing .

There will be playing too .

I’m for one not going with any intention of play and every person I have spoken to that’s going have said the same.

I’m happy to have a social day out without play. It’s not the be all and end

That might be your own prerogative which is great but you are incredibly naive if you think people traveling from London, South Wales etc are only going for a social to watch a pink tribute act. There are people actually talking about meeting in hotels on this actual thread.

Folks - the primary reason for the thread was to understand who’s going up on the Sat, as a single male didn’t really fancy a Sat Night Social on my own

It’s now turned into a free for all between haters and supporters of the event which was not my intention...

Can I ask supporters to not respond to the negative comments as it’s just continuing to fuel the debate , it’s fruitless me requesting the haters to drop their comments but maybe consider respecting the intention of the thread???

So question still remains , who’s up for a social drink in Hull on the Sat ?

Do you not think describing people as ‘haters’ is disrespectful when all they are worried about is the spreading of a very dangerous virus? You by using this term is fuelling this debate further imo.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like the club is really organised and on the ball, cant wait to have a sing along with new and current friends.

It's gonna be a great laugh. Shame some friends of mine weren't quick enough to get tickets but there's always next year.

Looking forward to meeting everyone
